honestly. I’m second guessing myself. There was white but can’t remember if it was pure or wind chill. I didn’t pay much mine because white was not what I was considering. A pearl paint makes more sense than pure white on a platinum as pure white seems like more of a fleet paint. If I confirm with the dealer, I’ll update.

That's my point. Everybody, especially the online reviewers, are all hot and horny about the Pro. It's a cool truck for sure but once the Tundra hits the market, most people won't buy Pros though because they don't offer the every day functionality. I think these types of reviews and releases should focus on the core truck, the most capable truck, that the majority of people are going to buy then go "oh, and for those of you who want some extra off road features and luxury there's this model too". Pro to SR5 reviews are at least 3:1. It should be the reverse.

It's like looking at Supra, soaking up the reviews and then buying a Corolla S because that's what you can afford and what's more practical day to day.

What do you think the ratio is of online reviews of the Raptor vs the XLT? Anyway, I wasn't talking about the reviewers. Everyone who knows anything about trucks knows the high end off road model isn't going to be the best at towing and hauling, so comparing to the high end off road model is pointless. No one looks at F-150s and says "I need a lot of towing capability, so I've got to look at the Raptor and see if it's worth the extra money." It just sounds like an attempt to make the TRD Pro look bad by comparing it to something that it's not intended to be.

Oh, and the Supra and Corolla aren't the same thing. To make an apples to apples comparison, how many people will look at reviews for the rumored GR Corolla, then buy a cheaper trim that meets their needs? I'm guessing a lot.

unless they give you a dealer daily printout its not an order, but then again from what i saw its an allocation request. and after you order you should get status updates on where in the delivery process its at. this is for our 2016 tacoma 2018 tundra we bought

    edit:

that price shown after rebates is wrong, it was actually $47,749 once i haggled a little more.

Not gonna lie.... I want one! IMO this truck was worth the wait for all those who were on the sidelines. My 2021 is now obsolete, grrrrrr. (But that's life, there's always a shiny new thing around the corner. Wait till 2024 before my next Big Ticket item ;) )

No, because the Pros come hybrid, and hybrids only come in CrewMax, because battery is under CrewMax seat.

They try it one year with the DC pro, and I don’t think it’s a big hit, so now all pro is CM

I know , I was asking for clarification from the poster that said the double cab pro is cheaper than the platinum and 1794 .

It’s sad when the king of off-road don’t even have room for recovery gear and front tow hook

Im probably platinum or just below...I like the heated and ventilated front and rear seats platinum offers. But I may go lower depending on price tag...I definitely need 6.5 ft bed, want the panoramic moonroof, and either Army Green or Lunar Rock... Can't wait! I'm the 2nd in line at my dealership

IMO those power numbers are fine as are the towing numbers. A 4WD SR may be the best "Build, don't buy" platform of them all. Will just depend on the aftermarket parts availability.

limited is the only model outside the plat/1794/Pro that get the pano roof. but i imagine the upcharge on the limited will be about 1500-2000 cost.

In the new fast lane video where they are talking about the chasis, they mention the regenerative breaking adjustments when towing. I wonder how well that will work to keep speed down on a long downhill acting almost like an exhaust brake on a diesel.

From the sound of it this system isn’t designed to traditionally regen like a traditional Toyota hybrid system, so if they make a small adjustment to regen for towing it probably won’t slow it down like a diesel exhaust brake. May see a small improvement in regen.

I get it. The new has lots of improvements and the frame construction is a big one. But your 2021 is not obsolete. You knew you were taking a risk getting a 2021 with the 2022s coming out around the corner. You have a great, powerful, tried and true truck that could last you a long time. I am still stoked on my 2020 and feel like I will drive it for years but by your timeframe, the 3rd gens will be dialed in, you'll have some good truck equity and they will be easier to find. You're good

well currently its a stand alone option, but i imagine it will probably be bundled with a package for savings, but then again the package price will jump depending on options they bundle with it pushing the cost of the package into the 3-4k price range to get a pano roof.

but once you commit ask for those printouts and ask for screenshots of the build process, cause you know they can give you that info if you get a decent dealer.

In the video, they showed a button on the steering wheel for regen and then it seemed like there is a switch that they were showing that you could increase or decrease the amount of regen that was happening. I know they mentioned it didn't regen like the Prius etc, but it has to be able to regen, otherwise there would be no mpg advantage and would probably actually get worse mpgs if it didn't regen.

So the engine redlines at 2700rpms and makes peak hp at 2400rpms dosent make sense... Than why does it say 348hp at 2400rpm could be a mistake like the rest of the spec sheet.

The new one is just great enough that I don’t “have to have it” but I’ll end up in one at some point down the road. And who knows what waiting a few to several years will bring? The reappearance of tow hooks? A more competitive generator/bed outlet? A heavy-duty payload option like Ford? The frame is now there to support such a package option…

I know it’s not typically Toyota’s “thing” to make changes a few years in to a new generation, but who knows?

Toyota basically made a truck for glamping. They should have a new edition called Glamdra. I’ll be keeping my 5.7 for even longer than expected now.

well i wouldnt say the tundra trd pro is the king of off roading. i can think of other big vehicles that do a heck of a job better than a tundra.

    land cruiser
    land rover defender
    maybe a g-class (not the e series)

and just for fun, you could throw in a sherpa for ultimate off roading :)

you have not really off roaded until you play with a sherpa and then cant think of anything else to off road after that.
