No fucking shit. I take one week off and this. But i did help sell two TRD pros, a 1794, and got a nice payday to buy me off a limited hybrid lunar rock off road by a company lol

I have a 22 crv and deposited on a 23 but I like the pilot more and moved it over to that.

23 crv is not a big enough change like the pilot

I didn't want the first year of a redesign so I'm glad I was able to find a 22 Pilot.

I couldn’t do it for one reason, the center console. Or should I say lack there of.

I would have got a passport if it was built like the crv or 23 pilot. I can’t do the arm rest stuff, I couldn’t find a good position. Would have loved to have one because otherwise it has everything we need

I thought the console looked fine but maybe I didn't look that close.

The Pilot doesn't have arm rests?

So the 22 doesn’t have like a flow through console stack. It’s low and uses arm rests unlike the 23. And I couldn’t get comfortable

I like the arm rests. I also much prefer the 22 centre screen/dash layout.

Tundras have been generally extremely reliable for the 1st and 2nd gens. So the issues are pretty new with the 3rd gen.

I agree that the 3rd gen Taco is generally too gutless for most people, but that’s not a reliability issue.

That's been my whole point all along in this thread. I have, historically, been a huge Toyota fan. I've owned half a dozen over the years with the 2003 Tundra being my absolute favorite truck. Was such a good size, great power, super nice, high quality materials. But 2003 was a long time ago, and they don't make 'em like they used to.

Yup on the used car markets.
One only needs to look at the share price of these used car companies on the stock market to see where sentiment lies.
As we know Stock Markets are forward thinking.
And as soon as any of these companies default on loans, the lenders will take the inventory and sell to wholesalers.
Where do you think this causes prices to go ?

Well, one can look at this as doom and gloom or opportunity.

I will say not all car values are in the shit. Tundra is still doing well, new gen that is. But even my crv carvana paid me $40.9k just 2 months ago. Today $32k. Other dealerships are 35-38k on it

I agree. I love the 1st gens. A friend has a really nice 05 that I’m going to start helping him maintain. My truck is the closest I could get to that buying new. It’s a brand new 2007 with slightly different sheet metal, LEDs, dual climate, radar cruise, and CarPlay. I got it with 3 miles on the odometer. It meets all my needs (fits my crew plus gear, takes us to very remote places and back, tows 8k no sweat even if I’m a little over GVWR). I’ve been piling on the miles (36k now), and it refuses to give me any headaches.

If Toyota gives us an actual CAPABLE truck built around the ‘22’s insanely torquey hybrid drivetrain—just give us 2k lbs of payload like a 1990s Hilux for crying out loud—I will be interested. Otherwise, and it pains me to say it, the next truck for my growing family will most likely be domestic HD. My grandpa would cry tears of joy if I showed up to his place in a Godzilla F250. Every time I pull into his driveway in my Tundra or LX, he mutters something about Pearl Harbor

Indeed. I bet he mentions something about me driving Toyotas today.

I had my LX on jack stands in the driveway when my grandparents came over for Thanksgiving. I was halfway through fitting larger Tundra brakes on the front end (highly recommended mod for a 200 series) when I realized I didn't have the proper drill bit to ream out the caliper mounts. Couldn't find anything worthy locally, so I was waiting on a reamer bit from Amazon I found on the LC forum. He took a picture of my LX on jack stands and said he was going to show his retired buddies. Mostly Ford guys. I told him, "Well, you see, when a Lexus is on jack stands, the owner is performing modifications. This is very different from when you see a Ford on jack stands. That just means something's wrong." He laughed. We give each other a hard time often.

Imagine that inventory hitting the market at wholesale prices. Not saying it's inevitable, but it would be a blood bath.

What's happening to Carvana is why I have been strictly in funds and few to no individual stocks for quite a few years. Months ago My dumbass would've been like "Used car company? How can you lose money in this environment?" Would've hit the buy button, turned my attention to other things, then found half my money gone when I woke up just after the first dose of bad news pre market one morning.

Yeah I’ve stopped trading individual options and back to just funds. I’ve purchased a few individual like Exxon, Costco, and Apple but nothing major.

Not to go off rails completely but I am going to take the dividends from something else this month to buy my first tiny slice of a Gold ETF later this month to start building on and then once I am into that I will look to make value plays going forward on Dow stocks but that is about it. I’m not smart enough for much more than that.

Why yes. Yes you can. Lots of info at IH8MUD. Here’s a thread on a Harrop’d LX. It’s a 6sp, but whatever. There are other threads mentioning 2016+ SC’d LCs. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/lx-570-harrop-supercharger-stage-1-and-2-impressions.1260826/

I wound up jumping on a super clean 6speed, which is why I did the brake mod. Lots of people who have had both say there’s no real meaningful difference between the early and later 200 series trucks. Mine doesn’t have a heated steering wheel or adaptive cruise. Not a big deal to me. The brakes are very noticeable, however. But I have Tundra brakes on mine, not 2016+ 200 series brakes.

Whenever I have looked, I couldnt find anyone that could tune the 2016+ with the 8 speed. HPTuners and VFTuner say they only support up to 2015, so I wasnt sure how they were flashing the actual tune. If you ask Harrop about it, I think they just leave the tuning up to a third party, but I dont know who that is.

Yeah that info is scarce. People post about SC’d 2016+ 200s over at Mud, but I didn’t find a build thread about any of those particular trucks after a cursory search.

Weird. I do know that I have looked at both my Lexus GX tune and 5.7 Tundra tunes in VFtuner and they look like they are setup from the factory to accept boost. The maps have air loads greater than 1 which means boost.

The guy in that link you posted says hes on the stock tune. I dont know if that means the Toyota stock tune or stock Harrop tune. That seems slightly scary only because the AFR's set points might be a little loose for boost and cam timing probably isnt great. VFTuner has a great write up on the TRD Supercharger tunes and how they can be used as a solid base for the Magnusson and Harrop superchargers.
