Sooner is better than later, the used car market is softening pretty quickly and the trade in offers across the board are starting to show it.

I have had exactly zero issues with mine. But only 4000 miles so far. If you do get it, you can get the extended warranty at cost from Granger in Iowa. I got the 7 year/100k for about $1300 I think, bumper to bumper.

Nice truck, I appreciate the info. Seems the F150 has better reviews as well.

My Capstone has "premium" leather, but still doesn't feel nearly as nice, fit, or finished as my F-150 Platinum did. The longer I own my Tundra, the more I miss my Platinum.

I think Toyota did such a good job on the durability and quality of the last gens that they tricked a bunch of us into buying the new one, only to find out it was redesigned by the same people who made my LG washer and dryer.

It has some redeeming qualities. But this forum unfortunately is an echo chamber for Gen 2 owners to reassure themselves Toyota is flawless. Ford isn't without problems, but their F-150 is a better finished truck than the 2022 Tundra's from my experience. Though, everyone one here has had a test drive where the Ford burned down which is so ironic.

Please show where I said Toyota is cutting corners.

I said cutting things (removing features that were spec’d in) and parking for chips

Again that’s not what I said. I know Toyota opted for cheaper plastics, etc. it’s how they kept the price point competitive among increased supplier costs.

I said Toyota isn’t cutting features mid cycle like all the others . Or having to park before shipping for missing components.

Can you actually corroborate this yet? My source at Ford Performance disagree.

The blue oval memo said all f150 and granger sent an email and it said all f150. Even those “specialty” f150 aren’t safe and haven’t been in the past. There’s a few people on the raptor forum with 10/17 build dates that means the window sticker should pop up in a week. The official ford action for the package removal starts 10/7

Mine are black on the Tremor. Actually a lot of the BAP is from the Tremor I guess. Hood, Ovals and rear bumper with dual exhaust anyway.

In March I picked up a ‘21 XLt built in
December that took a couple months to hitch a ride to the lot in the transport crunch and Cancelled my ‘22 entry level Lariat order that I decided I didn’t want to wait for. Wife was harassing me for awhile for being too impatient instead of waiting for my precise special ordered truck.

XLt was missing leather which I’ll get around to adding but had pretty much all the rest of what I wanted except that. Pano moonroof, Nav, 360 degree cameras, etc… Also a couple goodies I like and didn’t expect like bed lighting that later got moved to higher trims i don’t want to pay for. By some glitch I still get notifications the Lariat build hasn’t happened so If I waited right about now they’d likely be forcing me into a 2023 with fewer features at a higher interest rate with my trade losing significant value.

I must be in the right place. Our mortgage balance right now is about $68K. :) FRM of about 2.29% or so.

It was a bit surprising to me as well, but I had hope since the truck shares a ton of parts with the F150. They claimed to be making money off of it.

Still, you can barely get a supercrew 2wd XL 3.3L for that money.

I don’t believe they ever could sell it for a profit at that price. I think They were trying to keep market share and compete the with silly fake low pricing from Tesla and on the upper pricing side side, rivian.

They hooked your hopes and dreams with a lie, just like Tesla and rivian. What do you think the people who reserved a rivian thought when they got a call that their new truck arrived and that they would have to pay an additional 18k for it. Bait and switch much? Ford just followed suit.

well Rivian is recalling mostly everything its made due to a loose bolt that could cause steering loss of control.
    How many ? about 12,000.

So within a few days ford pulled enough chips outta their ass to save heated mirrors?

sounds like they realized the safety issue and/ or the customer backlash.
