It’s always the ‘haves vs. the have nots’ regardless of government or economic formula. The best countries are whichever ones can sweep us common folk under the rug the best.

only familiarity is my wife’s 2015 TLX and personally I’d say the screen interface is the least intuitive or user-friendly of any I have ever used. I hate driving it because I can’t seem to accomplish anything in less than 3 steps and the voice commands don’t work as well as my F series. But she loves it and her only issue in nearly 8 years has been a bad strut placed under warranty. The 9 speed tranny in hers that is shared with I think Chrysler had issues when introduced that caused them to proactively offer a 10 year / 100 or 150k warranty. It has been fine but I told her I’d still like it to be gone at the 10 year mark.

She wants an MDX eventually but is all about spending money on travel right now so putting on a few more miles.

My wife used to have an RDX before she got into 4Runners. It was ok. But I wouldn’t buy another one

I like Honda/Acura but they seem to have gotten a bit worse since about 2018 or so.

My brother has a 2013 RDX that's been good but his next car is going to be NA (or possibly supercharged) as he's not impressed with the fuel economy and the turbo lag.

I loved my 2000 integra type r. Only have had crv since then lol.

I might tell her to pick something else. Also looks kinda cramped for a 3 row

I used to love Honda’s look in general but in the last probably 10 years or so. Their cars have gotten uglier and uglier.

My mom had a 99 Civic EX like the one from Fast and furious the original movie. Loved that car. When that vtec kicks in, is so fun.

i would concur, most of their models lean more toward sleek and sporty than cavernous. Her TLX has rarely moves if she’s not working. We are all more
Comfortable in my truck. Would be the same with an MDX after the novelty wears off. She generally doesn’t drive on road trips and has liked the couch like comfoet of the front passenger seat of my trucks. Her MDX won’t be something we ride together in that much after the new smell is gone. My main perk in getting her into something in AWD is to not have to give her my truck or get up to take her to work in a blizzard. I’ll still drive the family everywhere in my low brow F150.

Mine was a 98 LX with a short shifter and the widest 40 series tires I've ever seen on a car.

I knew a kid in college with a 94-95 Integra I think. 5 or 6 speed. Fun car. Somewhere in the rev range Vtec would fire up and it was like a Dr Jeckyl/Mr. Hyde sort of scenario.

I bought 2022 MDX A Spec as it was out last year October. I drove it until end of July when I traded it in for Tundra.
During my brief ownership of around 10 months - I drove it around 21K miles and was quite content with it. I never had a single issue ( except one or two times minor warnings from parking sensors).
I did few 1000 miles plus trips and car was quite reliable.

I am not sure of Type S though - its a new 3 Ltr turbo engine vs 3.5 V6 that I had ( tried and tested across different hondas).

    Hope this helps

I’d much rather have the aspec but wife needs surround view camera and it’s either the advance which isn’t sporty looking or the type s advance .

It's been a while but my parents had a 2009 RDX that was pretty much bullet proof up to 290k miles. Then the whole thing just fell apart all at once. Literally it drove just like it came off the dealer lot when I had last driven it at 260k.

The Super Handling AWD was awesome too. It really was noticable when you hit the gas in a corner.

As stated though, the turbo lag was a bit annoying. I could never get it to drive one speed because it would spool up, then I'd have to lift off the throttle, it would unspool, get back on the throttle. Repeat. I am sure this is not an issue on the current turbo engines though. The 2009 was not direct injected.

I had a 2019 RDX before I traded it in or MDX. Turbo lag was still there in the normal driving mode, but it was much better in Sport mode.
SHAWD was really awesome on both RDX and MDX - made cornering lot more fun.

If it's just for your wife to commute in, does she need something that big and expensive? I believe a Camry, for example, is available with AWD.

I want to love the passport and I would have bought it if it had a true flow through center console. Those arm rests attached the chairs is horrible. I drove one and couldn’t do it. 5 mins in I said nope. That’s why I’m waiting on the pilot. I really hope it has a true center console like most SUVs

My wife has talked about wanting another Acura but I think after she gets more travel out of her system and shifts focus back to getting a new car she's going to get into a fully equipped non luxury brand with leather rather than do another luxury car. She's horrible with getting and then failing to promptly fix dings and scratches and has been known to curb a wheel from time to time. Probably going to come to the conclusion that a 70K car luxury car isn't worth it this time around as it'll be scarred up in 4-5 years anyway. She's hinted that she is less interested than she once was in having a luxury name plate on the trunk this time as long as it has leather and all the other goodies.

She could very well ponder for a couple more years and 20 thousand or so more miles and then then get into a nice new Subaru. She's expressed interest in some of the bigger ones. I don't care as long as she ends up in an AWD so she doesn't need me to get her around in a blizzard anymore, as right now it's a choice of giving her the keys to my F150 or getting out of bed when I don't have to to give her a ride. And also yes it is a bit irritating to see a 50K-plus car sitting there dirty and scratched up.

F150 Lightning and 2 E transit vans powered a film set in Toronto

Of course, seeing as the project is set in a forest, Ford of Canada had a direct opportunity to put their electric capabilities to the test, effectively eliminating the need for traditional power methods, like loud, carbon-producing diesel generators.
And so, the crew employed three Ford electric vehicles — an F-150 Lightning® pickup truck and two E-Transit cargo vans — to power the set at Toronto's Sunnybrook Park, to great success.*

    Pretty cool

The e transit is worthless around here for us, as soon as it’s super cold and you load the wagon the range is total shit

I just bought a transit 350 high roof gas and it’s a nice cargo van
