Huge kudos to Ford for making the 10 speed standard. GM's 8 speed is junk, and the 10 speed is only offered in certain trim levels.

So that's a win for Ford.

Doesn’t digitally display. So when you adjust you don’t see it in the knob, I think it’s on the screen

It had a little LCD screen on each knob (drivers/passenger) with the temp setpoint. It's neat but to be honest I think it looks cleaner on the screen.

Going to reduce power mode while towing 10,000 pounds at 10,000 feet of elevation doing 60+ mph up a 7 % grade on a 90+ degree day? That reduced power mode?

Yup...that one...after that I searched to see if anyone else complained of the issue or if it was just a one off. It wasn't, and most folks that had/have the issue weren't doing edge of capability testing either....just using the truck for normal stuff. It doesn't appear to be an ongoing or recurring issue for most. Just more evidence that they still have bugs to work out.

Its not really a bug, its an artifact of having such a potent motor in a half ton truck. The Ecoboost(and new iForce in the 2022) can do things that no half ton has the right to do. No other half ton motor will perform like that at that elevation in that kind of heat. a 5.7 V8 would have been foot on the floor doing 45 mph if it was lucky.

I have had issues with my 2014 Ecoboost overheating, but the radiators in the F150's have grown substantially as their tow ratings have increased. If you get a 2018+ with the max tow package you really have to be putting the wood to it to get it to go into power reduction mode, like you saw in that video. But if you are routinely doing what they did in that video, you should be using a HD diesel.

Again...others are having the issue not doing that pull in those conditions. I never once said it was a bad power train...only that the issues I saw reported gave me enough concern to not throw my hard earned money at it. The fact that it has that capability, and gets 20s city/highway and doubles as a 7.2k basically silent generator is very enticing.

I can’t now. I can’t support ford. I think I’ll cancel the raptor. Raising prices, decontenting trucks.

I’ve learned to not play any games of loyalty with any manufacturer. Sooner or later, they will disappoint you. Buy the product you need (99% want, let’s be honest) from whichever company provides it, especially if you’re trading in every couple of years.

Even the 'American' companies are beholden to everyone else for a majority of parts. You can isolate many production issues to Chinese originated chip shortages for example. Ford is b!tching about blue ovals as we speak and even if parts are assembled here, the components are made elsewhere. There aren't many American companies that haven't sold out in one way or another.
