Air is denser when it’s colder right?

Make sure you install the warm air intake before winter.

I’ve not had the chance to take any decent pictures yet. Shes bone stock at the moment minus tint. I did also add the builtright industries dash panel. Very similar to the ICS one I had in my tundra- highly recommend.

Pretty happy with it so far overall.

Very nice. Is that a 2024?

Interior looks very similar to mine except for some color differences, and the cover on the front of the console. Mine is just an open cubby there.

Edit: and the paddles. I don't have those either.

nope its a 22! Really liking it so far. The linked rear end setup vs the leaf springs is a mind blowing ride quality difference

Oh for sure. The linked rear will be a way better ride, but if you put 1000 lbs in the bed I don't think it's gonna be happy. Different purposes in the trucks. Believe me, with my lighter truck use, I would 100% love to have the raptor with a 5.0 in it. I don't need the Raptor R stuff, but the regular Raptor with a NA V8 would be a dream.

yea- I don’t tow ever and I max out maybe 200-300 lbs in the bed at most so this is gonna be a perfect setup for me I hope

And the fluids are all thicker, most notably the transmission. You will notice that the rpm level will be higher longer. The transmission just won’t downshift as quickly. Cold weather will deliver lower gears=higher rpm=lower mpg.

Correct, and I always lost around 2 MPG in my previous F-150 with the same engine but without the hybrid system. I lose more like 4-5 in this one, so I suspect there's something else at play.

are you going to lose traction with rain only with a good amount of tongue weight?

I don't see that happening, but enjoy the 4A I guess

I tried to pass a semi uphill and broke traction at 65 miles an hour. Immediately put it in 4A after that.

Yeah it’s my favorite accessory, bought it before I even took delivery of the truck. I had one on my Tacoma too, went with the smooth version this time.

passing someone going 65 mph already towing a larger trailer and broke loose?

damn man, in a rush to get the fishing spot is now a commercial for 4WD Auto. If conditions are that slick, remember you have to turn and potentially stop fast, 4WD auto isn't going to do shit for that.

be safe out there, we like our resident Ford guys , well once in a while anyways.

Haha well he may have been going 60 I don’t know. But he was going well under the 70 mph speed limit on the interstate. And I’ve spun on fresh pavement just taking off from a light too. Boat trailers don’t always have the 10% tongue weight of other trailers. Just saying, there’s an application for it.

getr done then mr. ford power man. :curls: :p

I doubt 70 is the speed limit for trailers though, perhaps Im mistaken.

just slow down a bit rather than doing burn outs towing is my suggestion, but then again, I am getting older now:pout:

Fortunately I don’t have to compromise, I’ll just put her in 4A and not worry about wheel spin :burp:

only a ford guy thinks its a compromise to not pass people more than 65mph, in heavy rain, towing a trailer.:eek2:

but you do you, glad you like the truck.:D

happy new year, BTW hope all is well.:santa2:

No Sir, the compromising was done by you when you bought a truck for 70,000+ dollars without a 4A option.

Holiday season was great over here, hope it was for you and yours as well.

lol, ok. pretty good "spin" for the new year there Mr. Bannerman.

you know that was a bad example, I know you like 4A and all, which is fine.

but spinning tires while towing in heavy rain, passing going 65 mph already does not make me wish my tundra has 4A.

4A or not, a better way in that specific example is just slow your ass down.

and ya, holidays were good, got sick on Christmas which kinda sucked though, but alas, Im still here, HA

well $70k (cdn) does not buy 4Auto here. Maybe with the drama teacher resigning today things will start to get better. fingers crossed.
But seriously, who is the buyer for the Raptor? At these prices are you taking it offroad, where it can get pin strips naturally?

I'd bet 85% of Raptors never see anything remotely close to off-roading. Probably just a dirt bypass road for most. I used mine for calling on mine sites with 20-30 miles each way of loosely maintained dirt roads and it was fantastic for that. My SuperDuty is already rattling my teeth.

Our 2025 long bed TRD-Offroad rides really well on the same roads, really enjoying the coil-over rear end. Seems like a much better value than my Ford's tbh, it was $57,000 out the door.

Well I guess this is no different really, than the person that buys a track ready Porsche 992 (911) and never takes it to the track. My Porsche mechanic works independently now out of his garage. He gets paid by people to fly out to them and take their Cars - many brands to the track and record the results. Owner gets an official document showing what their vehicle can do.
At least with the current Truckmania - you can take that Raptor - carry your family. Take it to Home Depot. Will it fit through a drive through or is there a chance of scratching the rims ?

I said this before not sure which thread. My sons friend has an older Raptor. When he came to the remote lake property he had to trim the branches coming in. I had to do the same thing years ago when going from a 4Runner to the Tundra - lol. Now when I take the 4Runner in on the 2 mile trail (one lane logging road) you are tempted to go alot faster, but there are a number of 90 degree turns. you could run into someone going the other way or an animal.

Looks like the tranny on the wife's 2015 TLX she got in 11/2014 is getting ready to shit the bed. Warning lights and slippage. Goes to the dealer Monday for confirmation before we figure next steps. Of course, 2 months after the Goodwill 10 year warranty for known transmission issues expires. I'm kicking myself for not pushing harder to dump it sooner but you know how it goes. "Why are you pushing me into something I'm not ready for, don't pester me just because you drool over whatever's newest and aren't ready yourself."

Getting more and more into the mind frame going forward of getting the 10 year service plan and setting a firm rule of holding vehicles no longer than that. Don't care what they are. Everything is Gradually becoming more disposable in the era of the 15k transmission and 10k engine.

I'm So annoyed right now. She did the "I'm a big girl" thing 3-4 years ago, took it in filthy for an oil change and tried to work a deal to get into an MDX without telling me so she could surprise us pulling into the driveway. She Got so mad about the process she refused to consider it again. If she'd just told me I'd have had it detailed and a few dings pulled and it would have been gone back then for probably twice, maybe 3 times what we'll figure out how to walk away with now if we dump it.
