Shouldn't they be able to forecast improvement or forecast higher expenses? I listened to the call, Farley pretty much said they can't find their ass.

Right, when they actually have to engineer an equally advanced/competitive truck they are just as crappy as everyone else.

The reason you care about EPS is that this call is so shitty that Ford has no choice but to grind operating expenses further. Lower parts inventories and the like are easy examples. Tighter controls on warranty claims are another.

Funny you mention this. I dabble a bit with options trading, especially around earnings seasons. I've made an absolute killing on Tesla and Ford puts in the last few days. I'm kicking myself that I didn't trade the Stellantis earnings reported this morning. They stunk it up too. GM had a decent 2nd quarter, but they got slaughtered in China for the second quarter in a row, so their stock slumped too. Toyota is on deck for earnings on 8/1. I see no reason not to buy puts on them, as well.

4R launch was pushed by Toyota citing “part shortages.”

I think they’re rethinking sticking a small hybrid in it.

With the engines they are about to replace, I think that’s smart.

sure, I don't have a dog in the fight, but I hope people get what they want.

the hybrid powertrain in my wife's Sienna is pretty damn good, that thing is full time AWD , a large vehicle and gets 35 city.

    maybe that would work.

"Sorry" ...but you're not allowed to complain about the price of gas to a Canadian. ....eh ...8^)

If they updated they would still hold the crown. They chose to re-create. Not one bolt the same. Only the front stabilizer is shared from the previous Gen. Brand new vehicle. And they introduced it at the worst time. It will take time to iron out things to a level past Toyota buyers were used to. JMO

Had a 2021 Toyota Sienna, I only sold it when Carvanna offered me crazy high Covid price, nearly $8k over MSRP when it was over a year old.

I say this because it was the 1st year of the new design yet had zero issues and high quality. Unlike the Tundra.

Also the Sienna is near impossible to buy now. You will pay over MSRP even for used ones. Again, unlike the Tundra.

I'd wager $10 folding cash that 75% of the warranty debacle has roots in vendor issues... vendor issues that would've been uncovered by QA site audits.

I have made a lot of $s over the years riding the Ford sign wave of buy at $9 sell at $12-$13 range. Ford quality is so continuously bad that at some point every few years there is going to be the "warranty work cost Ford $5B this fiscal year" announcement that will tank the stock.

Nissan and Stellantis are in free fall. Both are in the position they have to cut every vehicle 20% to sell it making it a zero profit car. I think brand reduction is likely to include ✂️ Chrysler, Infiniti and Maserati getting a new owner

I didn't pay over MSRP for mine new in 2023, so no I wouldn't do that now, lol.

mine is also a special edition with only 2525 made. They did a really nice job on it, interior is really well done.

    Oh no!
Plus I watched video online this morning that said Toyota has filed a new update with NHTSA saying that they “hopefully will be able to say what the engine fix is by the fourth quarter of this year,”. That is just saying what the fix will be , not actually fixing / replacing the engines.

Hated to trade my 2022 Tundra in first week of June, but so far my 2024 F150 3.5 EB seems like it was the right decision.

Nope ....."The Nissan division sold 280,282 vehicles in the quarter, up 74 percent from a year earlier."

Wouldn't even be a decision for me, I'm not in a position to risk having a truck that fails like that.

This was posted on Reddit, take it with a grain of salt. Hope it's true for current owners sake.

Found a Maverick on discount below invoice. Awd lariat for $32k. Might get that until the raptor gets built . Was looking at the Ridgeline. Great bed storage but looks like El Pilotmino. Also pricey little fuckers

@DrZoidberg lemme know if you find a Grand Higherlander Limited HybridMax or Plat HybridMax for a good deal. Dealers near me are putting $7k on top, I thought we were done with this crap?

You are the only I know that can say "Ridgeline" on this thread and get away with it. hah hah

Hey I am a fan. We owned a 1st Gen it had so much room. It had a leer cap on it.
Its interior is like a full size pickup truck inside.
The one my wife had - had a locking center diff for the AWD system.
I once pulled a stuck F150 out of a sandy boat launch with it.

If true, this is the most logical response. Easier to swap in a complete motor. Just think, you have 30K on your current odometer and get a new motor and a powertrain warranty reset of some kind. Will be interesting to see how smoothly the rollout will be. If true!

Honestly the only reason I never bought it or the passport was the stupid ass built in arm rests on the chair. 2024 they both went to true center console with a padded lid like everyone else. Looks great. But 2025 passport is all new design that’s supposed to compete with LC and bronco……..not really hard to do imo

Hopefully they can just throw the engine in the back of my truck, so I can do a quick swap when it leaves me stranded in the desert.
