Yup, that's the single leaf pack - not sure how it performs. I think you only get the double leaf pack with the PowerBoost, max tow, or payload packages.

I agree. I swapped the last two trucks to 4600s and it made a huge difference.

Ford redid the packages in 2024 for the F150 and I think the Max Payload is not available , I got the “tow/haul” package (vs. the Tow Package) which includes the increased payload (1800 lbs on my truck). My F150 does seem a bit “jumpy” in the rear end vs. my 2022 Tundra and I will be checking out the Bilstein 5100s.

I replaced the shocks on my Tremor with Halo/Elkas and added RAS as well(for towing). Feels so planted now.

Hearing similar things. Reading similar things. If you look at the "what have you done today" there are 3 posts of 3rd gen guys saying bye and went to a 1/2 ton babymax just this week. Only person I know with a 3rd Gen traded his in for a 1/2 ton babymax yesterday.

2025 refresh of the surburban has me eyeing the 3.0L availability on an XL.

One thing with the 3.0 Duramax is that they absolutely guzzle DEF while towing or under high load. So if you tow a lot, figure that into the economics vs a gas engine.

I was looking at them 2-3 years ago and so I’ve been on the Facebook groups and guys carry extra DEF with them towing because of how fast they can consume it.

I honestly have not noticed or seen that. I use about 4.5 gallons every 7,000 miles. I tow quite a bit and up to the 6,500 pound range. It burns a little more, but not anything too crazy. I have not towed any real long 100+ mile trips though.

I think that’s generally where it is. Towing travel trailers long distance.

Just got back from one of our summer beach trips. Have to say the Ecoboost impresses me every time I tow. 220 miles each way, maxing out payload while also towing 7,000, in 100 degree heat. Temps always stay steady, never have to stop for gas even with 35"s, it just works. Got the windows tinted fairly dark using a medical exemption right before the trip too, amazing what a difference good ceramic makes.

Ford has substantially increased the size of the cooling system over the years. My Ecoboost always impressed me too other than it getting hot any time it was over 70F outside lol. The 2011-2014s had a smaller radiator than my Lexus GX460 did.

Ah yea, I remember when the Ecoboost came out the front license plate bracket (not required in my state) was offset to the drivers side to unrestrict airflow in the center.

Getting my 24 F150 XLT FX4 Blackout pkg tinted with Llumar ceramic this week: first tow in a few weeks. Adding mud flaps; bumper step, and Bilstein rear shocks also.

The most common upgrade is Deaver replacement leaf springs, they seem to address the "jitter" better than anything else for the money. They also "eliminate" axle wrap.

That's what I went with, LLumar Ceramic Pinnacle, 4 windows, back window, windshield and sunroom came out to just over $800, though I can't say if that's a good or bad deal.

I have tinted a ton of vehicles and equipment through the years. Llumar Pinnacle is still one the only true ceramic tints. Quite honestly, it is on another level compared to most of the ceramics out there. We have it on every single window on my Wife's black Yukon AT4. After sitting out in the sun, the inside is about the same as outside. Before it would be like 130 when you got in the middle of the summer.

Not all Llumar dealers can get the Pinnacle ceramic so you have to be careful. They have to be the highest tier dealer to be able to sell the Pinnacle stuff.

Llumar Pinnacle is by far the best tint, but you can expect to be in the $1,000+ range for an SUV, at least the one dealer in Knoxville is......

I haven't followed the Titan in a long time. I know they had diff issues years ago but haven't heard of those problems in awhile. Strikes me as maybe the last solid and affordable option for those who want good equipment levels and reliability at a reasonable price and don't necessarily need the latest and greatest infotainment system and flashy tech. I thought about it while I was shopping in 2022. Unless I am missing some new significant common defect or qc issues Those trucks look like an incredible bargain right now to the right buyer.

It's like a rewind on the inflation meter. That final price is what an F150 XL on steelies can go for nowadays and used to get you the flagship version of a pickup with almost no boxes left to check 15 years ago.

    I had a 2021 XD Platinum Reserve.

It was a nice truck, had a decent payload (1,810 lbs).

There were things I wasn't a fan of, like the 26-gallon fuel tank, non-power folding tow mirrors, antifreeze smell after towing (said to be normal and never got even close to running warm regardless of ambient conditions), inability to back our travel trailer up a grade unless in 4WD Low, large turning radius (more than my current F-350), lack of aftermarket support (basically nonexistent), hunting for gears (towing or not).

I did like the engine performance (not the fuel mileage), the tech was decent, the handling/ride was pretty good and most comfortable seats I've ever sat in.

Having said that, I like my current '22 F-350 7.3L a helluva lot more in every category.
