It is an interesting read, but hes just following his old employer and trying to emulate the way things were done at Toyota. The Tundra hasn't been without multiple issues, but the lack of reliability of Ford is why I went Toyota. I'll take less payload/towing/tech for reliability. But I could also be driving a time bomb of an engine :fingerscrossed:

that says something he comes right out and names it and says we have our work cut for us to get down to that problems per vehicle goal.

Its one of those things that are probably super handy with the tailgate, but it wouldnt be the reason to buy one truck over another

My town has Tahoes for police cruisers now but also has an F150. Fire Dept has two F150s AFAIK. Seems over the top but the premium cost of a Tahoe over Explorer in Police spec makes the additional carrying capacity of the Tahoe invaluable.

The State Troopers up here have a mix of Explorers, F-150’s, and Tahoes.

Seems as tho the more urban (by Alaskan standards) trooper stations have more of the Explorers, while the more remote stations understandably get the F-150’s. Then the commanders / investigators get the pretty awesome looking Tahoes.

Staties run Tahoes and Chargers. Local PD runs a mix of Chargers and Durangos. Payload is the issue usually due to the amount of equipment they have to carry.

I wish they would not just talk in number of issues per 1,000, but also refer to the severity of the problems.

IMHO sounds a bit apologist but even if Ford is struggling it's good to hear them admit it and even that is a step ahead of where domestics used to be in terms of attitude and demeanor. For decades the policy for the Big 3 was deny, deny, deny. I had a 2004 Dakota I bought new and had for 5 years while the ball joint fiasco unfolded, and people were going to dateline NBC to tell the story of where and how the front wheels buckled under their low mileage trucks. Some were told by the company they were negligent for not monitoring for symptoms of pending failure. Others were offered out of warranty repair on the condition that they sign something promising never to go public.

Those tactics turned me to Toyota and made me swear off Chrysler products until they sucked me back in several years later with the Challengers.

ya, kinda alarming coming from Fords top guy, I mean damn, Toyota should take that and make a Commerical out of it.

like see, we told you just because you sell the most like McDonalds does cheeseburgers , doesn't mean they didn't forget the damn pickles.

It's good if they are looking at Toyota though, I mean they are the benchmark overall for QDR and also the resale king according to these guys as well.

    crazy for sure man, wow.

looks like they cant give them away now, especially with Ford coming right out and saying the quality blows basically.

Its a Full Size Pickup Sales shit show, no brand excluded, and its going to get worse.
My local Toyota "country small dealer" has 13 - 2024 Tundras.

Ford sells 6 F150's - 1 Tundra, so multiply that 13 number by 6 to get an unscientific count of what "might" be at a small dealer Ford lot.
If you are looking to buy and have cash, or credit approval monies in hand - have patience.

    @DrZoidberg

    Good trading with the Lightning
Very hard to sell when the price is rising.

what else you got on reserve ? ....8^0
    this is getting really stupid.
used to be dealers made like $6k-8K on these pickups trucks in the good old days.
they have obviously been making a ton of dough on these trucks last two years.
cant bring those '24s on the lot without clearing out the 23's.

Videos of the 7.3L Godzilla on the IKE with 14k lbs suggest it makes way more power than the 5.7L. Last time they tested the 5.7L, it was at the same time as a Silverado 5.3L and the Silverado pulled better with a measly 355hp.

The 6.6 GM and 6.4L Ram dont seem nearly as strong as the 7.3L though.

I know this is going to be sacrilegious but the Ram dealership near me is offering 2024 1500 Rebels MSRP 72k for 54K. Pulling me away from either F150 or Tundra atm. I have a buddy with a 23 rebel and he loves it. May have to go test drive one to see how they are.

There are alot of newer Rams near me here and they all love them. Who cares if you are going to flip it before warranty expires. From what I can tell -most people on this thread do just that.

I don't know where you are located - but what if I told you alot of people here North of the 49th - spend 60% of their net income on the mortgage. Would you believe me?

Buy that F250....8^0 keep your Tundra to bash around in. (living dangerously through others hah hah )

If I was building a mutual fund, and it was made up of vehicles and current mania’s - trends.
I’d say that’s a pretty good list including your Raptor. lol

    back to earth.
So I was at the local dealer picking up two items I had reserved.
Oil filters for my 4Runner and Tundra. hah hah
Why can't those Oil Filters be right there on top like Subaru's.

Honestly, at 0.99% for 84 months, I'd probably finance it for that entire term lol. Basically free money at this point.

If you have the cash then being "underwater" isnt really a problem is it?
