Watched some vids of those ct's and while unique, just not a fan. The amount of people drooling over 'em is puzzling to me. Would hate that attention .. sticking to my fugly tundra.

All EV's go through tires like its nobody’s business.
You need Oil to make tires- they are not saving the world.
I think somebody needs to think out of the box and come up with some Flintstone ready tires for these EV's.
How long do you think off road ready tires would last on a Cybertruck ?
Maybe a little longer than the OEM tires of the 2024 TRD Pro ? 8^0

If GM could get the bean counters to see the big picture, they would be the best autos one could buy. They do so many things so good, then they cheap out on something or a lot of things and we get what we get. Still my fav in the HD world.

Still on the Cybertruck theme - (the Pinnacle Symbol for this Pickup Truck Mania) 8^0
So this Cybertruck pulls an F150 out of the snow.
Had to share since its ironic I think, considering the jibes and abuse it seems to take from "Truck" guys.

My question however is ....if that was a '22+ Tundra in the pic - how is it going to be rescued ?
    Honest question.
FWIW - I see larger percentage of women driving the 3rd Gen's over the previous and it doesn't come with AWD.
Very easy to put a pickup down a side of hill or ditch if you dont engage 4wd (like my wife probably) even if in 4wd.
Just because pickups, have terrible weight distributon.
fwiw - That's why I have her driving an outback. Can still happen sure.
Her outback has an eye hook on front to pull her out.

How are you pulling out a Tundra Toyota Engineer ?

My sons work Sierra 5.3 L maybe one year older ? gets beat up pretty bad hauling and towing. In and out of cement plants and other industrial sites. He is a construction millwright. The truck now has 220k kilometers. Outside of the lifter noise it has had for the last 3 years and a few extended oil changes - it keeps going. He had a HD Ram for a while while his Sierra was getting new tires and the interior professionally cleaned out - lol.
He didnt like it. He would probably buy a GM if he did not have his own work truck.
I have driven it a few times. Steering is really light - too light for me - and it rides like an SUV. Nice and smooth. Its really low entry compared to my stock 18 TRD.

.....Toyotas new chief designer for the Tundra could be heard sayin' as he left his plush Texas office.

Last time I drove a 5.3 Silverado was a 2020 rental right before COVID hit. Interior was on par with my 11 year old Tundra and the 8 speed transmission shifter like dookie. Big disappointment as it'd been at the top of my list. Those have been remedied since then so I'd be curious to ride in one.

But same as the prospect of trying a Tundra, I don't want to deal with salespeople right now.

I'd guess the 5.3 is going to have to go bye bye, curious to see what they come up with after over 10 years to watch the competition drift to turbo 6s.

5.3 is probably going to be replaced by another V8 news has GM investing in the Next Gen V8s for their trucks and SUVs something different than what their competitors are doing.

Congrats! I’m going back and forth trying to decide if I should try and find one to trade my 23 in for. The addition of HUD and 2KW pro power being standard, plus being able to get the obligatory tailgate appliqué w/o having to get the pano all seem like wins in my book.

Booked my Tundra for a 10K service today, a couple of recalls and the 2nd key. Two days to get it in and they confirmed in advance that they had the parts and kit needed to do the work so they "don't waste my time". Compare and contrast to the idiots at Ford that ask "what is it you need" when you arrive for an appointment you waited two weeks to get. Only then do they order the parts needed. Ford has lost the scent on what good service looks like.

Speaking of not wasting time, my local ford dealer has free mobile service. Got my first oil change Friday, all while never having to leave my house. Guy showed up in a kitted out Transit van, changed the oil and rotated the tires, while I continued to work inside. I made money getting the truck serviced.

Any more complicated than an oil change and you're screwed.
Hanging out in the Ford service lounge is like watching the drunks at a 4th of July boat ramp.
They are numb to the problems.

Seems like you are trying to conflate independent dealer experiences to Toyota vs Ford.

FWIW, I’ve had better experiences with one of the largest Ford dealers than I have with one of the largest Toyota dealers. I’m not going to blame Toyota for that though.

I"m blaming Ford for the bad dealer experience at two dealers. Their parts supply and the requirements they put on dealers to get warranty items like electronic modules is so fucked up that it's hard for the dealer to win.

For example, today, I got a note for my Friday appointment that all the parts had arrived 2 days ahead of the appointment. At Ford, they can't order the part until a hard to find electronics tech has diagnosed it. Starting with high warranty issues, read about it in public disclosures, and shit policies to support the dealer you end up with an awful customer experience.

You are still comparing your dealership experiences to the actual brand, which is completely bogus. Try and go down to one of this crappy dealers in Houston, tell me you won't get the same BS runaround that Ford dealers give.

You need to focus on the truck comparisons, not your dealership experiences. Also, it's a global part supply problem, just look at how many Toyota parts are backordered to oblivion. Good luck if your cat's get stolen or you need something simple like a transmission cooler line. I literally had to wait for months for both of those items.

Unless I am wrong, aren't many of the Fords on the lots now built by disgruntled, striking (pre and post), union members? I doubt angry workers make the best vehicles.

yes, who knows how that will play out , but it appears to be brewing to get worse as well, Ford CEO is kinda saying , enough

cutting costs with hugely increasing labor, geee what could go wrong.

we'll see how this plays out

Yep, that's always been a problem with the big 3. Might as well build them in Mexico, where people actually want a job.

Conversation has been had here. UAW now run by a Radical with an "eat the rich" economic philosophy who's going to destroy the outlook for Big 3 workers but try to work his way into non union shops to keep his organization alive and strong. They were knuckle heads for putting this guy in charge.

And this move may well be a petty shot back at Farley for hinting at moving production overseas.

ya he got that from the ford forums like he did with our tundra shitlist

bottom line , like I’ve said before , I trust Toyota way more than ford to fix things if they get sideways

I was at a funeral today with maybe 90-100 people in attendance . Right before it started, the director got up and said an F150 was in the lot with the alarm going off. About 5 or 6 guys got up and went outside to see if it was their truck.

May have been more than that, the guys with new F-150s just checked their app and saw it wasn’t theirs.
