I was kidding as well, I don't even have a hybrid anyway, Toyota's attempt didnt deliver enough for me and there were too many trade offs

sounds like a lot of energy, how about beers instead and some good steaks

we can get an electric grill and run it off our resident ford guys truck and hope it doesnt break before we reach medium rare with a nice sear .

going where? I guess Im confused. I stated the new truck tows better and every gen 3 owner who has had both confirms this. Also, you pointed out they made the center section smaller by 4"s, I pointed out they made the rear 8" wider, whats wrong with that?

and the new truck is rated to haul and tow more, so not sure what your getting at with the axle unless you think toyota lied about the specs. Your truck will sag loaded to capacity, mine won't.

That said, I like all model year tundras, have owned them all and not looking for a 900th pissing match with another gen 2.5 owner

Are you fighting the F-150 guys or the G3 Tundra guys? Or are the G2 guys going to have a team as well as G2.5 (since I know that's disputed as well). Then we can have a rematch in 2040 when Gen 4 Tundra comes out!

not with coils and 5 link, remember its a totally different set-up now.

They went from using frame flex for compliance with a stiffer suspension to a stiffer frame and coils for compliance.

so between the stiffer frame, wider rear, wider shock placement, coils w 5 link, you get a MUCH more compliant ride and stable towing.

the trade off is max off-road articulation is not quite as good, but I give 0 shits about that with all teh improvements to the above, its all about trade offs to some degree

That's pretty decent honestly, for something that catches a lot of wind. I've got a 90 mile trip to the dealership for warranty work tomorrow, I'm going to try to remember to reset the trip before I leave.

My wifes rates were insane on some of the loans. And then on top of that, they were through Navient, who were a bunch of absolute savage and made it as difficult as possible to pay into specific loans. Every month she would have to call in and talk to someone and tell them exactly which loan she wanted to put extra money into. They made it purposefully difficult to get them paid down.

Predatory practices. It’s one of the biggest things the reform should fix. We don’t really need to forgive or pay off loans but it needs overhauled . The amount of times mine were bought, sold, or switched handlers was absurd in the 2 years I repaid

    1. Clarity in terms and repayment
    2. Was of use in repayment, etc
    3. Multiple lenders but unified portal to service the loan.
    4. Capped APR
    5. No accrual during student status.

I’ve seen many people on non-car related forums say the UAW thing alone will make them happily buy a Toyota…4auto, flat floor, inverter etc. be damned…I’d rather have a Honda 2200i anyways

I call BS on this one, I had Navient. You 100 percent could pay a set amount and divide it among which loans you wanted to pay down first. Subsidized and unsubsidized you could pay more towards the higher interest first, and then pay towards the other as you see fit as long as the min payment on each one is met. I never has an issue with Navient or their system.

I can think more than someone who has an F150 but yet comes to a Tundra forum to tell us how dumb we are.

I have come to the conclusion there are too many hurdles. Even if the manufacturer and govt’s (all levels) were on board. How do you keep the battery areas from getting corroded if you use a pickup off road and it gets wet or driving through salt covered roads in winter. The Ramcharger is the one I am watching.

Craziest EV story I have heard about happened in Canada.

Woman driving new Hyundai EV runs over some wood or something. She thinks I better check it out. Dealer says its only scratches but another person says we better have it looked at. The Battery casing got dented. No error lights or warning. Battery can’t be repaired not made in house, a new one needs to be sourced. $60000. Damage voids the warranty so it needs to go through insurance.
The new vehicle written off because battery is worth more than the vehicle. All because she ran over something.

https://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/ev-battery-icbc-writeoff#:~:text=Driving.ca-,ICBC scraps 2022 electric car after owners faced with $60,000,scrapped the nearly new automobile.

Why does all this make me think of a Tundra 3.4 engine outside of warranty ?

And people miss the point when they get into debates about whether improvements can be made to make them cheaper and more efficient and more cost effective. The question is how long does this take and what are the opportunity costs of the money to be spent on that for a company with other obligations like labor contracts and a diverse vehicle portfolio vs for a non union EV only company.

    hey thats my truck ! - 2018

This thread BB if you haven't noticed is like Switzerland - its neutral. Its unique.
We are all big boys here.
Its a public chat forum so you can get positive stuff, negative stuff.
If I hear about good stuff I will post it - however
The Pickup segment is probably going to get uglier before it gets better.... so.....I will leave it at that.

Randomly, My favorite update in Gen2 Tundra history:

"Can we get the seat to fold up and not down?"

"NO SLIDE AND RECLINE FOR YOU."

"What, can't you design it to do bo..."

"FOCUS GROUPS SAID NO, THAT'S FOR PANSIES!"
