Ran out to take my kid to the indoor bounce house to burn energy since it’s raining all day, not a great video but this is where 4A shines for me. 2wd efficiency until you need it, applies power to front axle as needed. Again this is not the “standard” 4A as in the Lariat or Platinum so I can’t say those would work as well. But point is you just can’t put power down like this in the rain with 2wd

yes it does , that’s a CarPlay function not a manufacturer function , I use CarPlay for everything, haven’t used the Toyota system once. The system is very fast though with this new gen thing Toyota did

I'm picking up my 2024 Tundra Limited Off-Road tomorrow. No moonroof. No power running boards.
    I have had a 2017 F150 3.5L Eco?Boost for 6.5 years, original owner.
    - 3 engine rebuilds (all due to camshaft phaser and timing chain 'stretch')
    - Shifts like hell.
    - Numerous other bizarre engine issues...
    - 3 moonroof repairs (tracks break)... Cab has no structural rigidity with 6 windows and moonroof.
    - 1 set of new power running board motors (aftermarket). I knew these would be trouble. They never last.
    - 1 new set of rims paid for by Discount Tire. They chipped all of the PVD coating off. PVD coating is a joke, not robust.
That said. I loved the seats. Very nicely engineered and ergonomically designed (for me, and my wife agrees)

If my Tundra has half the issues, I'll be happy.

I asked a car salesman recently how everyone and their brother can afford to drive around in a 80k truck…he laughed and said in the past trucks couldn’t be leased cause they got too beat up. Now dealers make it really attractive to lease and they use the monthly payment as a tax write off (only on a lease and not on a buy).

I've actually meant to point out how well the wireless CarPlay performs in this truck. Seemingly all vehicles with wireless CarPlay have owners that say the system is laggy and slow.

I don't know what Toyota has done, but wireless CarPlay in my tundra is instantaneous and smooth. Faster than even the wired CarPlay in our Polestar 2. It's pretty impressive.

Yes the operating system is very fast and the satellite navigation is remarkable. Lol at starting an llc, they have too much protection in my neck of the woods it is almost a role of the dice if you'll be stuck with someone who will screw you over or complete jobs. That is why I only pay for work completed at time of services rendered and break it down.i kmow too many clowns who live above their means, steal money by taking large up front payments, then create another llc to do the same thing. They get sued in civil court but what good does that do? The victims are out the money while the llc douche has already spent their money.

Good luck ever getting anything back even with your civil suits.

Same here. CarPlay works pretty fast on the Tundy. Mustang no issues, but it’s not wireless.

In ford you have to have sync 4 to get wireless and I have seen or heard it's very buggy but do not know.

    2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation w/3.0 Duramax
    So let's talk Toyota Tundra....

    1. Dealer shall not be named, but to even be allowed to look or test drive, we had to agree to a $5,000 market adjustment or we could not look or test drive. Don't quote me, but sticker was about $62,000 plus the market adjustment of $5,000, dealer BS of $1,500. We would have been looking at $68k plus about $4k in taxes, so we would have been $70kish for a 2024 Limited, Crew Cab, short-bed, non-hybrid. Not even sure what packages were really on it. If sold on Tundra, ai gladly would have travelled anywhere and drive the truck back for major savings like I did the Sierra.

    2. Fit and finish was fine and really nice inside. No and noise, hard, shifts, bed rattle or anything so that was a plus with the Tundra. I did not have any real problems with that.

    3. Compared to my 2019 Tundra Platinum, me and the wife thought it felt much much smaller. Not quite Tacoma small, but compared to other crew cab trucks it felt a lot smaller. Regardless of what dimension or anything on paper, it felt much much smaller and less comfortable compared to the 2019 Tundra.

    3. It rode pretty well overall no major complaints. Nothing game changing but it rode well for a truck.

    4. Non-hybrid had plenty of power, no complaints. Didn't really get a chance to open it up in test-drive to be fair. Felt a little turbo lag but nothing alarming. Duramax 3.0 still feels quite a bit stouter on bottom end.

    5. It sounds crazy, but for us it just didn't have "it" for us. Other than feeling small inside, we liked it. When we got out it just didn't give us a for sure this is it feeling. Sort of unexplainable, it didn't blow you away and made us want to continue to look. If only I could still get my 2019 Tundra with the 5.7 and 10-speed, I would not be in another brand.

So to be fair, I got the Elevation and it really is more comparable to an SR5. However, a comparable SR5 is still $60k plus market adjustment and add on, it is still pushing the Limited price in our market.

So the GMC, has sticker of $63k and I paid 53,500 plus tax. To be fair, the most I could get off around here is $1,000 off sticker. Which is why ai drove 500 miles. Bottom line is a comparable SR5 would be $10k more with a lot less features.

    1. The 3.0 Duramax is amazing! I only have 1,400 miles on the truck so far, but only filled up twice. On the 500 mile ride home I got 30.7, verified when I filled up. I am getting 25.7 in your typical mixed driving. Taking into consideration diesel cost, it is still $600 a year cheaper than its gas counter part for me and my area. DEF usage is about 4-6 gallons every oil change or 6-7,500 miles. So add in an extra $40 per oil change to fill up DEF tank with 4-5 gallons.

    2. Other than missing leather, the Elevation has all same features as a Limited Tundra, some more, some less. Did not have a lot of time with the Limited info-tainment system, but the 14.5" screen in the Sierra is really simple, clean and a great overall display. Dash is all electronic and can customize with several options if you are into that type of thing. Sierra has storage compartments in rear seat, and storage underneath.

    3. Mine came with the X31 off-road package, so I got spray-in Bedliner, 4-auto transfer case many talk about. Few other things...

    4. The Tundra has a little lighter felling steering. Takes a little more effort in the GMC. GMC for sure has a better turning radius.

    5. The 3.0 is very quiet. Only on initial take-off up until 15-20 MPH can you barely tell it is a diesel. Tundra is quieter on initial take off, after about 30 the 3.0 Duramax and the Sierra is smoother and quieter. At highway speeds, no doubts the 3.0 Duramax and the Sierra are quieter. At 70, you can't tell the truck is running. It will never ever kick down a gear and hold 70 MPH up a grade without effort.

I love and respect both brands and trucks, but the Duramax 3.0 is amazing and is growing by leaps and bounds and more and more people buying them. The Sierra is just plain more comfortable and a larger cabin. We probably will take long trips with it with the wife and kids. That is what really swayed our decision. If we never rode in or been in a new Sierra, we would have been perfectly happy with a Tubdra too.

Those diesel ranges are legit, and the power duramax is Isuzu so im sure the motor will out live the truck. Diesels are made to go 200-300 thousand miles before the fuel system needs to be replaced which by the way I hope you never have to do. Make sure you always use clean diesel from a major station and don't trust smaller gas stations. Dirty diesel could end up costing 10-15k for fuel system replacement.

Yep, not a single Tundra on the lot. All still being bought. East TN is absolutely booming, one of the best and fastest growing economies in the country with people absolutely flocking here. There is so much FU money around here it is not funny.....

Knoxville market has always been higher for car market and I have always had to drive, but it is really bad. GMC and Chevy are just starting to get 1500's on the lot in the last couple months. Still no shot at your more popular trim and models unless you order.

The Ram dealer probably has 200 trucks to choose from.....

I believe GM bought out the Isuzu partnership on the Duramax and is the sole operator now. Hopefully they don’t F it up. From what I understand GM developed the 3.0 by themselves. That is an alluring engine, I test drove one, really sweet.

We will see, I will see first hand how they hold up. The new LZO has some new features to supposedly improve on the first generation. Higher oil pressure, steel pistons, upgraded injectors, better oiling and now 200,000 mile timing belt change interval. Only time will tell......

That’s a nice truck you got there. I personally haven’t driven one or the new tundra for that matter. However to me just looking at the new tundra it appears smaller to me than my 2015. I suppose when the time comes I’ll have to go test drive both and see how they feel to me. But I’ll be honest that 3.0 has me very interested. Buddy of mine has a 21 with the lm2 3.0 and he pulls a 24 ft travel trailer and gets 14 mpg while towing. My tundra gets 14 without pulling anything ha ha. When I pull my rv I’m getting 8-9. Anyway, the emissions stuff scares me and that will probably be my biggest hesitation with it but we will see when I get more serious about replacing my 2015. Thank you for sharing your honest opinion about both units as it’s great to get different perspectives.

No problem! This is America! I e have the freedom and choices to be able to have a bunch of great vehicles to choose from. I like getting to experiment and try some new stuff so time will tell.

I get what Toyota is doing from a manufacturing standpoint. They are able to make one engine and chassis and share it between truck, SUV's, etc....

I know they probably never will, but again the tried and true 5.7 hooked to the new 10-speed would be fantastic. Or if they bring their diesel from over seas to America it would be on like Donkey Kong.

One thing I forgot to mention, but the Sierra 1500 Elevation trim I have as a payload sticker of 1,722 or 1,766. Can't remember which it is, which was pretty impressive also.

As far as I understand it, trucks with 4Auto still also have 4Hi and 4Lo. So I don't see the reduced durability aspect.

Seems like that generation did a lot of weird things. My FIL can't use tow/haul mode in his 2011 F150 when towing his travel trailer down from the mountains because it does all kind of weird things to kill his momentum and drop his fuel economy.

Gms is a inline 6 like Cummins, I'm sure it will be a good one. The stop gap 3 liter land rover sourced diesel that they put in the f150 for two years was a great engine as well. Diesel becomes a hard sell when the price per gallon is 6-7 bucks a gallon.

Things are different in the Phoenix area. I bought my 2024 Tundra Limited iForce Max three weeks ago and got $5k off sticker. My son just bought a 2024 Tundra SR5 last night and he got $5K off at a different dealer. His dealer easily has 30 Tundras on the lot. They ain't selling very well here and you can get some insane discounts. We went to different dealers because he had to copy Dad and get Solar Octane. He was the in SR5 budget. Damn proud of that kid. 20 years old with a solid job and can afford a $58k truck these days. I taught him well!

You lost me at dealer mark up or you couldn’t drive.

Dealer I bought my 09 from 15 years ago said they were charging markup which I told them as a repeat customer I'd not be paying if they found me what I wanted.

For awhile after manufacturers threatened allocations over that nearly every truck on their website "call for price." Now they have over 20 and are marking down.
