My total trip was probably sub 500 honestly. Charlotte is AA hub so it was like $230 I think to Des Monies, dealership picks you up at the airport, I used hotel points for my night in KY.

Midpoint for me would be in Ohio. I wouldn't mind the drive. Actually done most of it before - Massachusetts to Wisconsin and back via I-90.

If I did it, I'd be inclined to drive both ways and take whatever they'd give me for the current truck - I guess some people do that too. I hate airports and airplanes.

Figure $250 per way in gas, stay somewhere on the way there then when I get there, then on the way back - maybe $130 per night. So could do it for around $1000 with food and such factored in if I drive both ways. Save about $1000 in the end.

Just the planning can be tricky not knowing exactly when the truck will show up. My last F-150 was a factory order and it was supposed to be another two weeks at one point then mysteriously appeared.

Lots of Tahoes out there as daily drivers but honestly I feel like the majority of brand new Navigators, Yukon XLs, Suburbans and Expeditions I see on the road in the last few years in my state have Limo plates and are operated by car services.

I briefly contemplated a Tahoe or more likely a Suburban. Just could not bring myself to pull the trigger on one knowing how much I've seen them depreciate in the first couple years compared to other brands and segments. If I ever just have to go that route for some reason I'd have to break habit and go lightly used. Just found a 2020 Suburban Premier for 56k with 47000 miles on Carmax that I'm sure was a 80 or 90k truck new.

    Happy Thanksgiving to you guys

These Limo vehicles are all about the seating comfort for the drive to the airport or wherever you're going. How is it possible that Yukons and Suburbans can be used as Limos when two members here say the seats absolutely break your butt or back. 8^0

Can Ford or Toyota be far behind ?

I haven't ridden in many of them so I can't say much. Except a 30 minute airport ride is enough for the feel and smell of leather, look of the interior and leg room to wow you. But the crap passenger seating won't really make itself felt for a couple hours. When we've used them The drivers are mostly older guys who are always happy to talk non stop but they never seem stiff or mention aches and pains from all the driving. Then again I've never really checked whether there's one of those auto parts store cushions underneath them.

I had a 23 Navigator as rental for 2 weeks. Drove really nice, plenty of power from the Eco-boost, lots of driving safety nannie’s, comfy seating for all occupants. Was really impressed. I would have bought one, but really liked the Tundy.

They're expanding Powerboost production. One thing it Makes me wonder is if that tech will make its way to Expeditions and Navigators in the future. Hybrid powertrain, 570-600 pounds of torque with a generator function in an 8-9 passenger SUV would set the bar in that class I'd think.

Seems like that powertrain as is won't lend itself well to the F250/350 segment where pickup owners keep asking for the higher power inverter options that work off the hybrid battery. But it would easily transfer to lighter duty SUVs that already use the Ecoboost.

Sample Dealers Cost for carrying inventory compared to two years ago.
The numbers show there should be amazing deals if you are looking for a Big 3 truck in December as they try to make yearend numbers.
The manufacturers have increased incentives to dealers to clear these vehicles. Add to this the cost of carrying existing inventory on their floor plan compared to 2 years ago, with todays interest rates, and the numbers show deals to be had.
If I was looking for a deal on a truck I was going to keep 2-3 years and had a good Dealer Service Dept relationship with a Big 3 Dealer. I would find out how long that vehicle you like has been sitting on the lot. Go after the one that has been there a long time since the dealer paid a lot more for it and needs to clear it. This info is readily available on the internet.

I wonder if they dont have the space in the Expedition to put the battery and other doodads. IDK, just speculating. There is 1 or 2' less room between the axles on the Expi Max and Expi vs a crew cab short bed F150. Ford uses some kind of fancy exhaust heat exchanger and then has the battery and propower module all mounted under the cab between the frame rails.

Plug the bottle warmer into an outlet in my trailer. Or hand the kid directly to the supplier.

According to online forums, seems like all 2022 Tundras are getting engine replacements too!
