I did a Tesla model y performance. I loved the raptor but lifestyle and use it was overkill. MYP delivery is next week so I have a Hyundai sonata and I want to kill myself. This thing makes me miss the road presence and height of the raptor so much. God I felt like a king driving that

    I know I know.

has the space we need, and the acceleration I desire. Also comes with $10k in rebates so for an effective $44k it was the best choice to replace it

Haha, only thing I will say about electric vehicles or I might get the banned hammer.....

My wife has 2 step sisters in their early to mid-20's and they are hard hard believers in electric and the environment, let's just leave it at that. They both have Tesla's.

Currently, our only 2 vehicles are my wife's Yukon AT4 or my 23 2500 HD Duramax. Everyone they see us they rub it in about how every time we start and drive we are killing pigeons and penguins and they are dead serious and we need to start transitioning over to electric.

However, they are both calling us all the time for help because I have the HD truck and a couple trailers to help them move, pickup new kayaks, etc.... They never say anything then and they know better. My wife gets so pissed at them but we are good people and always want to help.

My wife flirts with the idea and I don't discourage it since we take my truck on long trips and 99% of errands run together. But she just realize her inspection's up in 2 days and she needs tires.

I keep picturing her one day calling me to bring the powerboost somewhere and use it to top her Tesla or whatever off while i Meet her to eat or something because she wants to do more than she planned and forgot to plug in the night before.

I wasn’t aware people bought them to save the planet.

for what we use the cars for it’s best bang for the buck. Low cost of maintenance, fast as shit, and has the space.

Raptor was great but overkill for our driving. We wfh, walk to school and the grocery store. Had it since May and only put 4k miles on it.

I drive an MYP fairly often. An EV doesn't work for my needs but the MYP is the only interesting car I've driven in three years that has something original to offer. I've had lots of high end cars.

Had a long range rental last year and it was cool but not special.

got a text for local Tesla event last week and they had performance demos out. Took it down the highway and back and was hooked.

I rented a powerboost its a great truck. However I am not a fan of the design never had been. They pretty much fixed all the issues with the turbo and it runs smoothly. Took them like 8 years to get it together. However, theres nothing like a Toyota. I had zero issues with my 22 limited and I changed the oil every 10k miles. At 65k right now.

Enjoy living dangerously thorough Dr Z and others escapades and I just keep driving my boring dinosaur '18 Tundra.
@DrZoidberg The Hyundai Sonata is really pushing it though.

Where I go there is no real help if you get in trouble so my truck going on 6 years now in a few months and the 4Runner one year older does weigh on me. Those I know personally all have Big 3 trucks and just keep changing them out every couple years.

I know a dude at work who runs through a car every 6-8 months before getting bored and moving on. I hold him up for contrast to myself when my wife gets goofy about the fact that I had 2 newish vehicles to myself for 5 years and plan to do it again at some point.

Guys like that are useful to have in the circle.

I'm officially confirmed on the 8/100 premium plan. Just have to decide if I want to keep my GEOCO coverage for 7/70 that I pay a few dollars per month in my premium for and be extra super duper ultra covered or dump it. I haven't looked close enough to figure out what gaps there are between the two. One big thing that attracted me to the Ford plan was rental coverage for a parts delay or involved job which Geico doesn't offer.

It works out well as I want to add a Mustang in 5 years and it would have been harder to do if the powerboost was such a Money pit that it needed to be traded by then.

Gas prices should come down in 2024 and to the guy who was thinking about a tesla or EV truck, are you nuts? I wouldn't park a EV in my driveway or any place close to my house plus they suck the range? Keep it
    I love my gas tundra.

I’m enjoying the Tesla a lot. Sorry you’re insecure about EVs and are stuck on an unfounded range scare.

The trucks have been fun but the speed and ease of the Tesla I enjoy more at the moment.

I chickened out at the last second of my Lightning Lariat ER order and pivoted to a Tundra Platinum HV due to my travel trailer towing situation.

My next truck will absolutely be an EV. The range isn't really the big issue for me with the Lightning and my little 19 foot trailer. The big issue is only now are charging stations starting to roll out as pull-throughs instead of pull-ins and the hassle of having to book camp sites 9 months out to make sure we get a hook up site.

I absolutely love the driving experience of our Polestar 2 and I'm certain the Lightning would have been just as enjoyable. I just need a few more years of infrastructure development. For now I'll continue riding the Toyota resale value wave though.

I saw an article yesterday that said total vehicle debt recently passed student debt. Pretty sad. Hard to blame a dumb 18 year old for taking out loans to get an education but these people buying $60-80k trucks on credit may be in for a rude awakening here soon. I can’t imagine making a $1000 vehicle payment.

Depends on the dealership. Mine could not care less. In fact, the reason we purchased there was because of our salesman - he was a good friend of ours. He flat told us "I mean, you're paying like 40% of what our finance guys would charge us? Hell, I'd buy from the place you bought from too!" LOL

It's just a matter of time before all that comes tumbling down. The auto industry is due for a reckoning and they are going to get it whether they want it or not.
