Thanks for doing this. Pics look very true to in-person.
    Mesquite: Retch
Blueprint: Neat colour-changy blue but not as nice as the Ford version “Antimatter Blue”
Army Green: Cool but kinda cheesy in a way. Like “I’d love it on the weekend but feel a bit embarrassed parking it at work?”
Supersonic Red: I actually like it. And I’m far from a love-the-flashy attention seeker.

For me it was a toss up between the red and blueprint. I really liked the red but thought about if I would still like it after a few years. I went on a drive and saw a few red trucks - the reds that I liked were a bit darker. When I saw a truck with this colour that has been driven and maybe sat a few hours in the sun, it didn't look all that great to me. Personally, I didn't find a colour that I fell in love with immediately but rather liked the blue and the red. Ultimately it came down to what will serve me now and in the future, and I went with the Blueprint.

I'll post a photo of a red tundra they had with Barcelona red (which was a bit darker and I liked it better than the supersonic red).

This is Barcelona red and not the super sonic red, but it shows how a red truck would look (colour-matched).

after seeing trd jon video of the blueprint he was driving, it was hard to like that dark blue. at certain angles it looked completely black. think its just a shade to dark as a blue color imo.

compared to the blueprint under the studio lights, its a completely different animal in daylight. making us think hard of now either going MGM or red now. just have to see it in real life to justify the blueprint now. it reminds us of our old 2012 tacoma in blue.

Just look a few posts above to see the colour in "real life" ;) I went out to the dealership to snap some shots. Looking at the photos while there, I can tell you that they are true to life.

I agree, it is definitely more navy than the burple colour we saw in the release. It looks more dark in overcast conditions, but when the sun comes out, it becomes more interesting.

i understand but the problem is the pictures show the blue, but if you move to a different part of the picture is now black. that is the problem we have, the blue is so dark, depending on angle its black which is what we are trying to stay away from.

Ah, got ya. It certainly looks black on certain angles of the vehicle, especially those pointing down or on the opposite side from the sun.

My problem is that there isn't one colour that just 100% did it for me. I like the red, the blue and the lunar. Lunar isn't offer on the plat, and red was just too bright (I would have LOVED a darker red), so blue it was because where I am everyone's car is either black, grey, or white and I just wanted something different.

at this point we may have to hold on to our BBP platinum until they come out with a lighter shade of blue. not keen on dark colors, too dam hard to keep clean in ND with the constant wind blowing dust all the time.

lol you cant get the off road in a platinum. never have before why would they do it now. platinum has always been the pavement/luxury queen. and that pdf with all the options listed, is wrong no matter what people say, there is typo's in that pdf.

even the online color config doesnt show lunar rock on the platinum.

and you link doesnt even have lunar rock under the platinum

I am really trying to like the new Tundra but I am not liking the lines on the fenders or the tailgate or the Ford looking front end regardless of the color. There are some features that I just love but not enough to get over the hybrid motor all those weird body lines.

Yeah didn't mean to say platinum but meant to say limited even though the online configuration doesn't show it as an option

    Has anyone seen/have pics of a 2022
in black? I’ve seen the older leaked pic but there doesn’t seem to be a prototype/demo one out there?

Similar to blueprint, there is a really nice dark green colour that Volkswagen has. I saw it on an Atlas SUV which has boxy lines to its shape and it looked great. Almost black at certain angles, and a very dark forrest green in the right light.

Also thought a dark cherry red would be nice too.

I've grown tired of white, grey, and black. Every car I've had is one of those. New Tundra will be something else.

Agreed - a darker hue red would be nice. Both cars I’ve owned were green, so I’ve always liked something different. Personally, I’m disappointed in the platinum colour options - I would have loved the lunar rock colour on it. I know the 1794 has the lunar rock colour but would prefer not to have the bright chrome (as apposed to the black chrome on the platinum).

In the same place as the Tundra. Under the second row of seats. The beauty and savings of a standardized chassis is you design once then wrap as many different vehicles around that design as you can making as few changes as you can.

I’m a bit disappointed they don’t offer a real blue color option. Not my first choice but it seems like it should be a color option. Blueprint is more a purple.

I'm kind of a paint color freak ! To me, the finish is SO important. And Toyota has SO many awesome colors to choose from. I really love the Lunar Rock, the Army Green (whatever they are calling it) the Metallic Brown is sick... but they need to kill that chrome. Actually, the same for the Army Green paint. But as much as I like all of these, I wouldn't even consider another color, besides Solar Octane orange ! I'm not buying a $70K truck, and trying to hide in it ! I think the TRD Pro is just an "in your face" truck, and so it needs an "in your face" finish. If you don't want to be noticed, get yourself a white Toyota Corolla :) lol I always trip when I see like a white Corvette C8. Like, really ? WTF is that about anyway ? Who buys a C8 and doesn't want to be noticed :) lol If I bought a C8, Id have it painted the brightest Chartreuse (yellow green... why do so few people know what this color is ?) on the planet !

I'm up in Canada so I know this is just a glitch and they are not limiting the colour here. Seems the Limited has the most colour options based on this new glitch and Platinum just has 5 :| I hope this is a mistake.

OK, so it looks like I am currently looking at White and Lunar Rock.

Quick question, I have never owned a whiye
I am not sure if it is just because they have demo trucks but I am seeing a lot of lower end trims with Lunar Rock. I thought I would be choosing between Super White and Lunar Rock at mid tier. If this list is right I may be Super White by default.

People are just different, right ? I mean, I've walked into peoples houses and they have like huge, open blank walls ! Are you kidding me ?! I couldn't have a blank wall like that..... or a white Toyota Corolla :) I'm just a visual kind of guy. I like to see something attention grabbing wherever I look. I hear sometimes (from boring people :) lol I'm sorry) that people that like bright flashy stuff are all about, "Look at me, look at me"..... But here's the thing, I love looking at crazy, bright, flashy stuff that "other people" own too. So often its, "Look at that, Look at them ! WoW ! That's bad ass !" :)
BTW, I am a photographer / artist, and not a subtle one ;) So that might tell you something about me too.

There are forms of art that are not flashy but may seem boring to people on a surface level but can have great depth and done very well. I am surprised an artist would label things done well in any form or format as boring. I am with you on the Solar Octane so far but I am not going to be shelling out the dollars for the TRD PRO to get it, especially since I do not think they make that many and the dealers kind of try to get a premium for them.

I am just a little surprised that an artist would find anything well done to be boring. If I cannot get the Solar Octane I am looking at the white right now as I think it looks really good on this design.
