With this and the pic, I assume you've driven it. Without getting into trouble or spilling details early, what do you think? How does it feel?

My personal question here: How tall are you and how hard is it to see out over that hood? Major gripe I have on the GM trucks is that short or tall, NOBODY can see anything over that effing hood.

These new half ton trucks are getting ridiculous with their wannabe freight train front ends.

I guess it's why even the lower trim Tundras get front camera

The asinine thing with the GM trucks is that if you pop the hood, 40% or more of the motor is shoved up under the windshield cowl anyway. You wind up with a huge dash and a huge hood and then they throw two bulbous knobs on either side of the hood that further obscure the corners. Maybe the big hood is for better crumple zones, but look at the current Tundra. It's got a big piece of sheet metal for a hood, but they didn't flare it out at the corners so it seems so much smaller than what a 1500 silverado has.

The whole freight train hood style is bullshit.

Some will defend it as necessary for cooling, but I call BS.

I have a 2007 Titan with "Big Tow" which is rated at 9400 pounds towing. It has a slim, low profile nose. I noticed the hood on my wife's 2020 Corolla HB is bigger. When Nissan updated the Titan in 2016, it was mostly the same truck as my 2007, but it now has a ridiculous freight train front end. And doesn't tow a damn bit more than my 2007. I have towed over rated a few times in the summer and it never ran hot. I've been in temps that exceed 135°F when idling. It's all dick-wagging as far as I am concerned.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
What is this “freight train” hood style you’re going on about? As a guy who makes his living running the damn things I’m not seeing the resemblance.

Quite the departure for Toyota. Lunar Rock is the first "exclusive" Pro color to carry over to another model year Pro. Perhaps they are trying to capture those people that loved Lunar Rock but couldn't get one with the wonky production of the last year.

Is there any word on what trim levels have what colors available? We keep seeing a sr5 in army green but I have also seen info showing it’s not available.

They claim otherwise? Toyota of El Cajon. They are receiving one in orange way before March. I opted not to deposit on it because they want almost 80k. Demand is greater than supply and there are people with more money than I in San Diego.

Yep. I already put a deposit down and was told I could have MGM but not Lunar Rock. I just texted the dealer to get the scoop though I fear they know little more than we do at this point.

Yesterday the color configurator was on-line on the 2022 Tundra. I looked at it a few times. Today it is not there. It was right below the Safety Pictures and just above the Sign up for Updates. It was working well just like the 2021 color configurator.

The color configurator is back up on the tundra page, right below safety as before.

Damn, it's too bad Limited or Platinum don't come with the Lunar Rock as an option. Might have to go with black or gray. Not so sure on the blueprint yet, I know some people love it.
