2022 Tonneau covers

no sir, it latches just fine. the rails pretty much sit on the oem tracks and are flush with the plastic cap at the end of the bed, by the tailgate. I cant latch the cover if the tailgate is up, but I think it's designed that way?

 

The Truxedo seal is designed to sit on top of the tailgate and not behind the tailgate. You need to have the tailgate up to allow the seal to sit on top of the gate when you close the X15. I could not get my X15 to seal with the tailgate up unless I raised the rails at least 1/4". I worked with Truxedo engineers and was sent different canvas and bulkhead parts but nothing helped. We were not able to get the X15 to latch with the tailgate up and I ended up returning it. I really like the X15 cover but was very frustrated with the design.

 

Awesome, glad they finally got the materials in. Did you order the 5.7 or the 6.7 length? I ordered the 6.7 and I am hoping the materials are also for that length. Did you notice any fitment issues, poor finishing on parts, or issues the components working together as they should? I'm curious if the first few runs are going to be guinea pigs like the 2022 Tundra, lol. Would love to see some pictures if you have them. Thanks for the update.

 

Agreed very frustrating. I liked it enough that I kept it and have yet to figure out a fix but where there's a will there's a way.

eddiefromcali: As mentioned by 'thekoop', if you're closing the cover before closing the tailgate the seal won't sit properly. Try closing the tailgate 1st and let us know if you are still able to get the cover to latch.

Now my 4th delay, the crazy thing is I go to the dealer website were i bought it and the delivery date posted is weeks shorter than the new estimated delivery in the e-mail they send me.

 

Yeah, it's false advertising. The reality is they're not sure when they're coming in. Hopefully they'll come through for you soon -

 

Ah, I should have clarified. I got a 5.7'. Zero issues w/ fitment, to my experience. I haven't blasted it with water yet, however. Works exactly like my friends version on his Ram.

I'm installing the rubber gasket on the tailgate as well. Will post a couple pictures here for those interested.

Ordered the Undercover Ultra Flex on 4/15 and still waiting on shipment notification. Was originally slated for 4/18-4/25 but got pushed back to 5/6-5/12. Hoping it doesn’t get delayed again. We shall see.

 

The sizing on the site says 5.7' or 6.7' and I know the beds are 5.5/6.5. Should it fit or does it lay on the tailgate a little?

 

I just canceled my order on the ultra flex. I just got off the phone with their customer service who stated the haven't started shipping any of these are are still 2 weeks out, at a minimum, to begin shipping.

Lomax offers a cover and their customer rep states it will be able to ship mid next week, so i placed a new order with them. These Tonneau lead times are some of the most inaccurate things I've seen so far lol.

 

Just got my shipment notification for the RetraxOne XR for the 6.5 foot bed!

Aye! It was missing one of the foam O rings to seal water, so left it. Just spoke with Retrax and they're sending out a replacement kit, no questions. Great service.

 

That's awesome. Did you have to tap the holes out larger in the bed?

 

Yes. I only had 1/2" larger bit, but it could go a touch bigger to not squish the tube as hard. Easy to run through.

I was waiting for the Retrax, but got fed up waiting and decided to save money by ordering the Rough Country Tri-fold hard cover. I’m really happy with the fit, finish and how it operates. At $700 dollars this thing is a bargain.

I also was able to mod a bit to work with Billiebars.

 

Yours looks good, but I knew I absolutely did not want a trifold again and I didn't want to make any mods to have a rack. So I had to wait it out for Retrax which should be delivered before the end of today.

 

Nice! I am glad that Retrax finally released the cover. I had it on pre-order since mid February, and they kept delaying it.

 

They didn't start production on them until around the beginning of last week.

 

For those with a Retrax could you still fit a motorcycle in the back ?

 

Depending on the length of the bike, you should be able to with the tailgate down. At the point where the front tire would sit against the front of the bed, you'd really only be losing 10 inches or less. I've got a 6.5ft bed, so I wouldn't have any issue. Might be close on the 5.5 if you have a longer bike.

 

when did you order your cover? I ordered mine about a month ago, was told my first cover was “lost in the mail”, now my second cover has been delayed twice.
