Where can I find the list of customizable settings for my 2020, including the Techstream settings?

Wasn't a joke, but I didn't realize the Techstream options were listed there. Thanks!

it wont be listed as techstream in the manual, it will say something along the lines of dealer settings or something like that, which means techstream.

The 154 ft-lb is only for the steel wheels (spare wheel or if the truck has steel wheels). The torque rating for the aluminum wheels is 97 ft-lb.

One thing I noticed in the manual was the transfer case is filled with ATF WS, instead of the $60/quart fluid used now.

Fuel tank sizes seem to indicate decent fuel mileage if the same range is considered.

I think they spoke about them in the 9 minute Toyota USA presentation but I haven't seen them in action nor any pricing. They mentioned several things will be options including 3 inch lifts.

Sweers mentioned that it would have a range over 400 mile min. Given that number it puts the 32 Gallon tank at 12.5 MPG minmum but doesn't include or account for the electric motor's contribution.

We also have a better CD which alone would contribute 20% efficiency and a weight saving design.

I'll proudly shit my pants if this thing hits mid 30s but I'm expecting high 20s.

but you have to take that into context of the conversation. is he talking about 400 miles while towing? or is that unloaded?

if its 400 miles while towing an avg load (per his conversation of 8000lbs) then hell thats great. if its unloaded, then that about the same i am getting now in our 5.7 around town which we are avg 11 mpg on 1/2 tank fill ups. (habit due to winters up here, you really dont want to go below 1/2 in case you get stuck on a side road waiting for help when its -10F)

    Agree.

Towing was discussed later so I doubt it was ladened when he mentioned total range; I would have to rewatch if it was the TTV6 he was talking about or Hybrid. He did say "at least" so I take it as a floor value meaning expect longer ranges.

actually about 1/2 those configs are already in the 2.5 gen. most of those are just quality of life configurations, like 3 5 7 blinks on the blinker lane changes, etc.

I guess to allow more air to flow underneath the truck to cool off components i.e. transmission pan, catalytics, electric motor if hybrid, engine oil pan, transfer case.

In one of the Sweers interviews (I think it was with TFL) he said their wind tunnel testing showed raising the dam improved airflow with certain trailers there by improving efficiency. He mentioned it would be based off of the trailer your hitched to; you would have to enter the info for the BSM and other features to work.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
I noticed that there were two fuel tank sizes. Hopefully the hybrid will still get the large tank as an option. Who the hell wants a 22 gallon tank on a pickup truck?

because gas tanks are sized based on distance you can travel on a single tank. whats the points of having a 38gal tank if you are getting 25mpg. waste of weight and weight = less mpg/towing capacity.

its a fine line to balance all the different choices to reduce weight but not make things annoying. the general public (ie 99%) will not drive more than 2-4hrs (maybe 5hrs) before refill or stopping for something.

heck my wife gets really paranoid once her 2018 tundra 38gal tank gets to 1/2 and starts looking for gas stations and this is in the summer, its gets really bad during the winter months to full out crazy once it goes below 1/2 tank regardless of size.

    good example is ...

    2018 tundra 38gal = 646 potential miles @ highway mpg (17)

actually i can get 17mpg once in a blue moon but not in ND but i am not driving 8-9hrs to get that tank to 1/4 at 17mpg. usually the computer wil show about 500 miles on a fill up.

    2014 4runner 23gal = 506 potential miles @ highway mpg (22)

i can get 22mpg easy out of a 4runner and 500 miles is about right for me to stop anyway for gas, etc.

Don't know which model was the inspiration for that figure, so this is a wild guess.
That might be from dry weight. All the fluids, certain options, a full tank of gas and a couple people eats into that payload amount a wee bit.
    I hope I'm wrong.

The max figure that Toyota quotes in brochures will be for a 2WD DC SR. Any feature or option you add is going to cut into that until you get to 1450 lbs for a Pro or 1250 lbs for a 4x4 CM standard bed 1794.

Hate to say it, but most of you super worried about payload need to buy a bigger truck. Plain and simple.

I’ve poked around some other truck forums and this is the only one I see so much angst about payload on. Ford, GM, and Ram owners don’t seem to care at all. They either ignore GVWR or just go buy a bigger truck if they need one.

If Toyota would pull their heads out of the sand and offer a 3/4 ton or 1 ton Tundra no one here would care much about an average payload on most Tundras of around 1400-1500lbs with options. So vote with your wallet and buy a bigger truck if you need one.
