Is that your total takeaway or does carvana charge you a fee that subtracts for that? If that’s your takeaway I can’t see the hassle of trying private party would get you much more. That’s a good deal in my opinion. That said, I would still keep the paid off truck!

 

I have no idea how the process is. I am looking at 2 trucks right now but the payments are so high. One of them wants to appraise mine but I told them in stock condition.

 

I really dont know if the upgrade to the 5.7 is worth it right now. I would love the power but once the lift is swapped over, the mpgs might not be so fun lol. Gas already went up today.

Remember your sales tax offset on trade in Florida. Whatever you accept for the trade amount, the tax is offset. If you sell outright to any other than the dealer you purchase from, you have to overcome that amount to make sense of it.

^^^This. New car inventories are drying up across the board. I am looking to change up my wife’s car and I’ve been scouring dealers sites and it’s amazing how little there is to choose from. I think the longer you wait the less and less you’ll have to choose from - and prices seem to not be changing much either.

Will your current truck pull the new trailer?

If it can handle the new travel trailer, I would keep it.
To nice of a truck to let go and you know you will mod
the heck out of the new one, which costs $$$.

Just one strange dudes opinion.

 

The dry weight of the trailer is 3844 lbs and tongue weight is 410.

 

It would seem to me that the actual weight ("wet", with gear in it) of the trailer will be 4500 +/- pounds with a tongue weight of 425 +/-. The 4.6 liter should pull that with ease, correct?

 

Max weight of the trailer is 6,000

 

We pull the camper 1200 miles to FL with my husband's Tundra (4.6) and it seems to do perfectly fine with about 5600# on it..

The new camper we're looking at though is pushing 7k so I got the 5.7 to take over for it.

 

Backed up to mine to get some hitch measurements. That's a descent looking truck in front of that trailer lol.

carvana offer might also be on the high side to hook you pending their appraisal...then of course final appraisal comes back lower..
plus looks like it's a quote for a trade in. do you need to buy from them in order to get that price ?

Yes you never know what goes on these days. My dealer is wanting to appraise it tomorrow. He wants to try and see if they will give 15k. The other dealer is stuck on 12K. I have never dealt with Carvana but I tried using it for leverage. I told the dealer I dont need to buy a truck and don't need to have the 5.7.

 

I could just regear to 4.88's like someone mentioned.

 

And my bumper is being delivered on Friday. It will fit 2nd and 3rd gen trucks.

 

Would be way cheaper!
