Not to derail the discussion, but if you are going to add catalytic converter protection plates, like the Valhalla plates, then the Valhalla engine skid plate works the best. It is designed for easy installation and maintenance with the Valhalla cat plates. (Not to sound like an add for Valhalla.) Just figure if you are planning to protect your cats, you may want to just get the full set.

    RCI is definitely cheaper.

Didn't think about going used. That probably is the best option. Thanks.

Thanks. That's very tempting. However, I have way too much on the burners right now (bed cap, roof rack, overhead lights, etc), so a skid plate will probably have to wait a few more months. Besides, the wife  is already giving me looks about the stuff I've purchased over the last couple of months.

The TRD front sway bar is not a different diameter vs the non TRD bar. It is solid compared to the non TRD bar

Exactly what I plan to do. First time I looked under this truck after buying it last month I was like WTF? Would it have killed them to put access to a common maintenance item in there?

If the fuel economy wasn't already so poor I'd just take the skid off and throw it away. Never seen a full size truck or even a Jeep with a skid like this that covers everything and I've never missed having one.
