That's what I just did. And, the MSRP for 2019 is about $1000 less for most models and $2800 less for,the Pros.

Wheels and tires are now on my new 2020, unfortunately buying a 2020 this early in the model year. The TPMS protocols are not out yet for the TPMS system and the 2019 sensors I went with are not quite communicating with the truck like they should. Other then that really liking my new 2020 Tundra.
Thought I would share some updated pics.

So, cc1999, first the truck looks great. How would you compare it to your LC? Thanks.

    Thanks.

The 2020 platinum is getting closer in features to the LC. However the LC is still really on another level in terms of luxury, and quality. You really have to look more in the Lexus line to find vehicles on par with the LC. My 18 is my 5th 200 series since they came out back in 2008. Still nothing on the market really compares to the 200s. I do wish Toyota would give the tundra the LC’s 8 speed and loose the 430 gears.

I'm really curious about both right now, My 2008 Tundra is still going strong, but it is soon time to update and i am really liking the 2020 Platinum but something is making me consider a 2020 LC. It is a daily driver for me and i no longer need a bed as much as i used to but at the same time I'm not sure if the LC is going to offer the fun to drive factor the Tundra provides. Also, insurance should be cheaper. Gas mileage is about the same i think. Your thoughts?

Well the mileage is a little better on the LC then the Tundra. I would say about 2 mpg's better on average.
Of all the Toyota vehicles I have owned and or driven, the 2020 Tundra is probably the closest thing to the Cruiser that Toyota offers. I have never understood why the Sequoia never received the updated interior that the Tundra received back in 2014 .

For me, the LC is one of 2 vehicles on the market that is an SUV but still has a split rear hatch (with a tailgate).
Makes loading my old bird dog so much nicer then with any other typical SUV where the whole rear hatch raises up to a load floor that is not truly flat and generally much higher then my LC.
Most of the completion in the large SUV segment has seats that fold down into the floor, which for some maybe a plus, but not so much if your wanting a lower load height and a truly flat floor.
The LC is the only large body on frame SUV that gives you a 3rd row and all the other mention features.

You can really tell when driving a 200 series that it was truly over built, they are simply built to a different standard compared to most vehicles on the road.
That is why if you happen to jump into an LC with say 150,000 miles on it, that it still feels tight and drives very similar to a new one without any miles on it.

I use to have a pair of 2011s 200s , at one point one of them had 65,000 miles on it the other had 15,000 miles on it.
You literally could not tell them apart when driving them without looking at the odometers to figure out which was which. The 200s are just such impressive vehicles.

If you need a truck bed, I think the 2020 Tundra is still a great choice in the current truck market.
Ford can keep those turbo 6 bangers, and GM is lacking in some tech compared to the 2020 Tundra.
The Ram is probably the leader right now, but I just don't like buying a Chrysler product in the early stages of its release. It seems to take them a couple years to work out most of the kinks in their new models.

Thanks for the info. I agree with everything you said. I would never but a Chrysler product as they just don't have the reliability. Sometimes you may get a good one but too many people i know have nothing but problems. As for the sequoia I think Toyota just can't justify the cost to keep it updated if the sales numbers don't increase. That being said I think it will come out on the new Tundra platform and be a much better SUV but only time will tell if it resonates with buyers.

I think the tundra will continue to slowly and steadily gain market share. People do want the reliability but the other makes just get them with features. We will see though.

The LC is in its own class and I may go that route. I test drove one a couple months ago and liked it in most ways but felt it was a little slow with acceleration but it is 6000 lbs. The next gen will likely be a turbo v6 and i'm not sure i want that so this may be the last chance to get a v8.

The pic of yours looks like you may have done a few things to it. Any mods?

    Thanks

We custom fit some 2008-2011 gulf states region OEM fender flairs to it, All my LC's had those, this one just didn't look right to me without them, plus I like running an aftermarket wheel and tire and the +20 offset tends to need the flairs to keep my tires inside my fenders.
The wheels are Fuel Trophy 18x9 +20 black with grey anthracite simulated bead lock rings. The tires are the OEM size 285/60/18s in a Cooper LTZ Zenon.
I also tinted the windows, other then those things its pretty much stock.

I really like that look. The one thing i don't care for with most Toyota trucks is the wheels are a little too tucked in, but i don't want them sticking out too much so as to ruin the paint from rocks, etc. I think you hit the balance well.

Did those tires and wheels help the handling at all? If they only made decent wheels with about +40 flairs wouldn't be needed.

What did yo put on the tundra?

Nice tundra. I’m going to buy either a 20 or 21 so not in a rush. Which trims have ventilated seats? Living in Florida I have no use for heated seats, but would use the ventilated seats most of the year.

Yea, +20s are about the norm in the 5x150 Tundra pattern the 200 series LC's have the same bolt pattern.
I had the same Trophy Rims on my last Tundra it was a 2017. The 2020 has the same 18x9 + 20 size both Tundra's I ran a 285/65/18 Tire the 2017 I had Toyo open country AT2 (Not a fan) this time with the 2020 I went with Nitto Ridge Grapplers, so far a lot happier with the NItto's.
The Trophy and the Anza both look similar same simulated bead lock rings just different spoke design.

For any other 2020 Owners looking to go with aftermarket wheels and planning to go with aftermarket TPMS sensors.
Heads up. A week and a couple hundred bucks later. Here is what I know now.

    2020 TPMS battle Update:
Paid the local dealer $50 bucks to try and program my 2019 sensors to my 2020.
No luck, still didn't get it programmed, but I know now what the issue is.
I am told the issue is there is a new sensor for 2020s only on the Tundra's with smart key option get this new TPMS sensor.
Since my Platinum actually does now have the smart key system.
These 2019 sensors I purchased with my new wheels and tires will not work.

Since there wasn't a smart key system available on the 2019s at all, none of the aftermarket nor factory sensors for 2019s will work on a smart key equipped 2020 Tundra's.
So in my case these 2019 sensors will never work in this 2020.

Just sharing this 2020 info wherever I can, thought it might save someone else planning on similar upgrades to their smart key optioned 2020, a lot of time and money.

Which tech is GM missing, if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking to buy either a Tundra or a Sierra and I'm really having trouble deciding.

Well since I just sold my 2018 Silverado. I am bit better versed on it, it was missing blind side monitors, smart cruise and push button start. Now the new 2019-2020s I believe resolve some if not all those things, maybe not the smart cruise, for some reason I was thinking they were still lacking that feature. None the less I have not followed the 2019-2020 Silverado since they beat with the biggest ugly stick they could find, and I knew there was no way I could stand to look at one in the driveway everyday. The sierra is the better looking sister this time around, no doubt about that.
Also I just dumped my 2018 Silverado with under 10,000 miles on it because GM could not seem to fix the AC system after multiple trips back to the dealer. In july no less it would go crazy and start blowing ice cold high fan on the drive and fire hot high fan on the passenger. The heat would rapidly over power the cooling on the driver side, to the point you would have to shut the system completely off and roll down the windows. I didn't have the patients need in July to screw around with it anymore so I sold it back to the Dealer I bought it and all my GM business fleet trucks from.
So to the tech question I think the GM twins are still short smart cruise on the latest versions, I believe they caught up on the rest.
