The few times I tested it with the Toyota app, the truck started up fine.

I meant the physical wiring/plug compatibility. Not the actual wire compatibility. The wiring schematic is not the same as a previous model. Same as the previous entune in a 17 and earlier isn’t compatible with the 3.0 in the 18 and 19.

ColoradoTJ, the Duratrac's were stock and part of the TSS Offroad Package. I plan on doing a 3/1 lift after the tires wear out and either go with 295/55/20 or 305/55/20 with wheel spacers.

Borgs, the front and rear sway bars are on the "to do" list also. I drive some curvy roads back and forth to work so the sway bars will come in handy. I am just now getting used to the body roll this truck has. Its not terrible, but sway bars would get rid of that.

I did average 19.8 mpg on my last trip I had out of town. Better than my taco did on the same trip.

The only problem I have now is I can't get my wife out from behind the steering wheel.

Wow, 19 5mpg. My '18 Tacoma is around 21mpg on the highway and I'm seriously considering a Tundra. The decision now is to wait for the 2021 or buy the 2020.

I do have the App, and with the keyfob and the app the lock and unlock works. The remote start from the app or keyfob just powers it on for a minute or two when it should be kicking off the engine start but doesn't. I had a tech call with Toyota open now for almost 3 weeks and my shop has had it in service for a week. They are trying to figure out what is wrong. The truck is authorized and everything else from the app works except the remote start. The app simply says make sure all preconditions are met and try again. I have tried this over 3 weeks in various locations and conditions with the same result. Just was wondering if i was the only one with this issue.

What I like to know is if the JBL Premium Sound upgrade still sounds like s**t as it did in my 2018 Tundra. The push button start, keyless entry and available remote start are steps in the right direction though. I hope I can test drive a loaded Platinum in the near future (none around here yet).

from my understanding Toyota has been using the same wire harness for all there vehicles since 1987 or something like that. the car play and android auto is something the radio is capable of power and ground should all be the same. Now the tricky thing will be will the new antenna be the deal breaker? anxious to see when some one pulls out one of those radios to see what's behind there.

I had an issue similar to that, but it was resolved today. I received a call back from Toyota Customer Care, and they had me remote start my truck with the key fob. That seems to have fixed it. Before that, it was stuck on this screen, and I could not start it. My error code was D7. If this doesn’t work for you, call Toyota Customer Care with your error code, and ask them to have Henry investigate. I was told he was assigned to trouble shoot for the 2020 Tundra.4457A88E-93D8-4500-B0DC-EFFAB168AB09.jpg

I'm happy with it. It's not as good as the aftermarket setup I put in my 4runner but I don't think it sounds like s**t. It's definitely low on my list of mods.

Thanks man. I ended up getting one too. I love the new features. Especially the new screen. Seems alot bigger and the resolution is so much higher than before.

Call me old school, but I would still want a CD player. Sound quality is much better than any digital rendition played through an app.

CD Player? Stop it, you're way too modern. Nothing beats a good ol' cassette player.

To those with the 2020 JBL... My issue with the 2019 and older was that it simply wasn't loud enough. Anybody know if the JBL in the new trucks are louder?

Yes, I think it’s louder. A better sound overall than the 2019 head unit / speaker combo offers.

Was not impressed with the 2020 JBL system on the TRD Tundra Pro I drove today. Truck was amazing, other than the stereo. 2020 Tacoma pro had a much better system. If I was 100% sure I could make the stereo better, I would get the new 2020 Tundra tomorrow!

I moved both eq dads in both trucks to the same settings on the treble, mids and bass, but still there was a noticeable lack of sound quality and volume from the tundra. It had a sub built in behind the back seat, and it seemed to hit some, but not hard. I hate to sound like total nube, but is that what you meant by setting the gain, or do I need to try to find the amp and turn up the gain there, or is there a gain button on the sub in the back? I really want to buy a 2020 tundra, as it was nearly perfect. I had gotten more hard of hearing and more used to quality sound as I have gotten older, and just want the same quality sound in the tundra, without having to go aftermarket. thanks for the reply!

I talked to my dealer principle today after he came back from the dealer meeting in Texas. The new 2021 Tundra won't be on dealer's lots for at least two more years.

I'm thinking late fall of 2021. He told me that they were expecting to see the new truck at the convention but Toyota just reveal a silhouette of the truck from the stage with TUNDRA above it. That's it. Then announced 2 years until the truck is available for sale and no announcement on price. Some of the higher truck sales dealers got to try the new drivetrain in the older Tundra. Toyota swapped the drivetrain into the older Tundras so dealers could test them. Hoods remained closed and no info on the drivetrain. Those that drove the truck said it was a game changer and nobody would want a desiel option after driving the new truck.

How’s the xm and fm radio reception with the new shark fin antenna? Xm reception on 19 and prior was very poor. Hope the shark fin is a lot better.

My FM with the shark fin is actually a little worse than my ‘15 was.

Id say XM reception is the same as my previous vehicle which also had a shark fin. Reception drops out when sitting under overpasses, but otherwise is good. Nothing compares with my work truck (a Ram 3500). It loses reception around power lines and sometimes for no apparent reason at all. FM reception seems to be uninterrupted.
