OEM pricing seems cheaper when u include having to purchase the AMP bolt on brackets separate.

Just going with the dealer info. The bed extender is rigid. Im guessing that it attaches to the rail in its original position. Stock box divider will no longer mount as well.

Just ordered the OEM for $247 from the local dealership. I will let the forum know on Tuesday if there are any issues with the install. I decided on OEM because my biggest use will be for keeping items near the rear of the bed versus needing a larger bed space.

That was my original plan as well.

It should fit, you may just have to slide the side rail cleat back a little bit.

I installed an amp research with the no drill brackets. Search the forum. The no drill brackets I believe are the same as OEM and the Amp bed extenders are also same as OEM. I went with the more rectangular AMP extender (instead of the more V shaped extender). It's great, light, removable, I would go with the no drill brackets IMO. I also later installed a Leer 700 hard cover and the Amp Research bed extender works fine with it. I would think most hard bed covers would clear but check first.

Try Electricstep.com. I ordered the no drill brackets and the Amp research extender from them. I think Ray is the guy to talk to. I'll have to do some more digging if that does not work for you.

I know this is an older thread, but did you end up having any issues installing your OEM bed extender with your OEM hard, trifold tonneau cover? I had been told they wouldn’t work at the dealership when I bought my truck, but I really want the bed extender... Tonneau cover was installed by dealership at purchase.

I don't have the bed extender, but just looking at the pics above, I don't see how the extender wouldn't work with any type of bed cover.
You'd obviously have to flip the cover open to flip the extender in or out, but as far as mounting or clearing, they don't even come close to each other. I think the dealer/sales folks just aren't smart enough to realize you'd open the cover before moving the bed extender.
It certainly wouldn't work if you tried to keep the bedcover closed... but that should be obvious, especially to someone who works at a dealership.

Seems like there are three options now:
    1. The older Toyota model that is for 2007-2011, PR39234000. It seems this comes with the no-drill brackets. Will fit any modern Tundra, made by AMP. Not fully box shaped, has angled corners.
    2. The newer V-shaped extender for 2020. Don't want, it's fugly.
    3. The AMP Max HD, is more square. Does not come with the no-drill brackets.

Ended up ordering the AMP version from electric step and emailed them to find the link to the no-drill brackets. When in my shopping cart I received a notice saying "Click here and enter your email for a discount code!" Got 15% off, so it was $243 shipped including the brackets. The Toyota model from point [1] is still widely available but dealers tend to stiff you on the shipping. Electric step has 'free' shipping.

I purchased a 2019 Toyota OEM bed extender off a local club member for my 2021. He has the AMP no drill brackets with the lever locks. I have a MX4 bed cover with the rail extenders and it works flawlessly. I did run into one issue. The levers work off a leaf spring for retraction. Apparently, I lost one spring, so I took the opportunity to upgrade them both and paint the no drill plates.

    Thanks!

    For those that are interested:

I can confirm that the OEM bed extender does NOT clash with the OEM tri-fold, hard tonneau cover. You would think that EVERYONE would know that you obviously have to fold tonneau cover up towards the cab to change position of the bed extender, but some dealerships are apparently giving out bad information. Totally worth the risk, and I’m happy that it worked!

Got my AMP HD MAX installed, it certainly maximizes the available space. The hardest part was extracting the existing bolts from under the factory bed liner! I cut them out with a knife and tried melting off the plastic with a torch. In the end I heated up a nail and used that to scrape out the bolt head. Needs a TORX T40 although it was impossible to say what they were at first.

Anyway, turned out real nice with the 'no drill' mounts from AMP. The unit tucks away when not in use and provides a nice area to throw cases of water and other bulky items when shopping. Completely unobtrusive IMO.

No interference with my Extang Solid Fold tonneau cover.
