Totally agree. If one doesn’t need a diesel, I sure wouldn’t have one.

Diesels are not for everyone, that’s for sure.

It’s one of my favorite long travel tundras for looks. I wouldn’t run a camper on a long travel but that’s just IMO.

Interesting concept but it stresses the fact that the crewmax configuration isn't ideal here. A couple inches shorter in back seats and we are good. Also why have a dually without a true HD powertrain

They haven’t released any specs on the drivetrain or motor yet. So who knows what the build will have done to it.

I don't really care if its a dually or not .I just want toyota to have a diesel option thats all .I love my truck but man it would be nasty with a diesel .Thats for sure.

I like the dually. I agree maybe some marker lights but something incognito, definitely needs tow mirrors and a heavy duty hitch. I'd assume there's a 5th wheel hitch in back.

    Only problem is this:

Are people willing to pay for this?

So what is a Platinum CM Tundra these days?

    I went and looked, $51k.

Add ~8-10k for the diesel option.

Now we have a cost of updating the chassis to handle all this weight and new found power.

Unlike Nissan, I would hope that Toyota would in fact put a competing rated power plant inline with the domestics. That would put an output of 390-445hp and 915-930#’torque....and pass emissions for US and Europe.

Yep, probably right in line with the domestics at 75k and up.

I would also expect a dually diesel to be 70k and up.

Personally I’m not a fan of the dually.

I’d rather a bigger platform (and body) like the F250-350 superduty

Even with what I mentioned, definitely needs some tow mirrors and rooftop ambers!

It's missing towing mirrors. How are you suppose to haul a ghost trailer if you don't have fold out tow mirrors to SEE the ghost trailer?

Where is the 07 concept truck these days? I wonder if it’s in a showroom somewhere or if they scrapped it

I like the dully concept if it was offered in larger gas or diesel, tow mirrors, lights on top. has a lift options or lowered options.

But if I needed a truck built for heavy hauling, I'd rather spend that $80-$90K on a Toyota than a Ford/GM/RAM. Quality Heavy Duty equipment (regardless of what it's built to do or who makes it) isn't cheap.
