And you can’t pull into the garage and leave it running with a key? I’m not following? You still have to turn the vehicle off whether your pushing a button or turning a key. Neither eliminates someone from leaving a vehicle running in the garage If that’s what you’re eluding to.

I traded in my 1794 for the Pro because I wanted something more basic and less of a road queen. Surprisingly, I think my pro rides better than the 1794 - it certainly is a lot more fun to drive. I’m not good at wrenching and my wife was not going to allow me to buy a limited or a SR5 and make it a faux pro. I have no regrets at all with my choice and I’m even happier with it after seeing all of the tech that is getting crammed into these trucks. Safety systems are great but it’s just one more thing that can fail.

You don’t know what encryption or protocol is being used for the near field communication with push button start.

    Regarding the other comment

Yes you can leave your keys in the ignition after you park in the garage. At least for me every time I leave my car I check my pocket for keys.

This is 100% habit related :)

So, you joined yesterday so you could post 8 times in a thread about how much you love push button starts?
And now you're being douchey about it?

    Ok, gotcha.

For me, the 2019 is proven as the final model of this generation. I would never buy a 1st year vehicle, as many of the Tacoma owners found out after the most recent generation came out.

douche you mean? ...you probably should look up what cognitive dissonance means before you start talking about feminine hygiene products.
I stand by my previous post, nothing wavers. Keys have zero advantage over pushbutton. Next............

Unless you just like to have keys. Then I guess there would be an advantage to having one. You know. Because you like keys. I like keys. I also like my Pro without all the tech. Still waiting to hear how my post had anything to do with "cognitive dissonance."

Push button start is cool until you drop the fob between your seat crack and spend 45 minutes looking for it.
Cant tell you how many times my wife or I have "lost it" inside her LX570. Nothing more fun than not being able to lock your vehicle when you are in a hurry.

We also have the 2015 4Runner pro in black. Black is an awesome color but, damn, it shows everything.

Just wait to see and compare both. Not any upgrades, get the 19 for better deal. Netter color, or better features get the 20

I’ve had 3 straight black before my tundra. Never again. Especially since the tundra won’t fit in the garage.

I agree. Where do you draw the line? Get a deal on a 2019, Wait for the mild update on the 2020, then the complete redesign in 2021 is coming too.

Lol...wait 2021 new design then u would wana wait until 2022 since many people dont want 1st year of new design/issues. So u would just have to wait until 2023 by then may just as well wait until 2024 since there could be minor updates. By that time may no longer have interest change no need for tundra lifestyle change family etc. Then u would be waiting for next newest mini van model

I’m still not convinced the new one will come in 2021. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was 2022. Seems odd to spend any money to add in a new infotainment screen, push button and other things for one model year. I feel like if it were really coming for 2021 they wouldn’t have made any changes few to the 2020.

I’m just surprised we haven’t seen any interior shots of this new infotainment unit or any other details considered they should be hitting lots in a couple months one would think.

It is all speculation at this point.
But they are so far behind the competition, I think they have no choice

Get a 2019. Wait til model year 2022, trade in. Even with an old body style, the Tundra will lose less than any other truck or brand in value.

Platinum or 1794 is the way to go. They are the only ones with power fold mirrors, a necessity for parking in the garage when you have a wife who drives a big SUV.

I've heard rumors that the 2021 may have a more robust suspension, 6-lug wheels, bigger payload and tow capacities.. I may get back into a Tundra earlier than expected if that's true.
