Are the drls working as they Should? Do they switch from bright to dim when you turn on the low beams?

If you can do the retrofit job yourself it would def be cheaper and brighter. this is more of a OEM solution that doesn't include baking headlights. I just don't want to deal with opening up headlights and if a part fails inside, have to open them again. But these are PnP! With the harness lol

    Agree.
But I have retros on my 4Runner for about two years, maybe more, so far zero issues.
OEM leds can fail too and Toyota won’t cover them, I’m sure.
I don’t know what to do:)
I’ll keep an eye on this thread for now:)

I'm in for a set of plug and play harnesses for my 1794, anyone willing to sell me some? @thomasbus337 or anyone else here willing to do it for me and sell me some? Ideally I would like to have the LED DRL on full brightness, regardless of if the low/high beam are on, and upgraded gauge wiring to allow the low/highbeam to stay on at the same time. Is this doable? Really appreciate it guys!!!!

Also, what are these lights running shipped to your door?

@Redlineaz I put my order in last week and the total shipping and all was $644. I am in the same boat as you waiting for someone to make a harness.. I have a 15 platinum and I would like to have the leds stay bright as well.

Looks like my headlights will be here tomorrow woohoo! Faster than I thought, need to order wire parts now ha

So, for '17 SR5, is this still the correct list of parts and diagram for what I need to order? (post 42 in this thread).

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/201...g-info-with-diagrams.16225/page-2#post-350235

I've been going through this thread the past couple weeks, but I've seen a couple revisions, after thoughts etc... just wanted to order and build whatever is the latest and great revision for an SR5 with the stock amber DRLs.

Thanks! Depending on how it goes I may be up for building an extra harness or two depending if I have to order some parts in higher quantities than needed.

Yes, post 42 still lists the correct parts. The quantities for the terminals and seals are the exact numbers needed, but I'd recommend ordering a few extra of each for spare parts. If you want to add an extra relay for a heavier gauge wiring for high beams then refer to post 106.

My extra parts should be in tomorrow, so by the end of the weekend I'll have an additional write up and parts list for the SR5,Limited and Pro crowd with two different options to be PnP with the new LED DRL's

Ok, thanks for the fast reply! But, now I'm confused ha.... Is it safe to order everything from post 42 and you are just updating the wiring connections, or should I wait for the additional write up and parts list for the SR5? I'm so not trying to be a pain in the ass ha, you are invaluable with what you have contributed!

Reason I ask is I have everything it my cart from post 42 about to order ha

Yes, it's safe to order the parts now, nothing on the main harness has changed. The two different options would be related to the way you want to interface with your current violet wires for the parking lights/DRL harness. To be safe I'd order about 12 extra CONN 11856 female pins and 12 CONN100069 male pins just to have.

His source of Ballenger Motorsports has almost everything with great prices. The other two items I'm going to get from @Roman and Retrofit Source down in Atlanta. Luckily, all are fairly close by so cheap shipping will only be a 2-3 days.

Perfect, thanks! Ordering now and will look forward to your write up as I wait for the parts to arrive next week.

Your part numbers and Ballenger source was ridiculously helpful.

You are the man! If ever in Charlotte hit me up and I'll buy you a beer.

So I apologize for quoting you twice, but curiosity won over.. Got all the parts ordered as you suggested, thanks! Will wait for your latest thoughts before wiring, and can't thank you enough for what you have already done.

Have to ask though, being from the High Point area, is that the source of your user name??

I ordered my wiring from ebay. I figured it would be more helpful if my "how-to" pics showed wiring that was color coded to match the factory wiring and wire diagram colors. I measured out the three headlight wires @ 24" and the DRL's @ 18". It was more than enough and I secured the excess with plastic zip ties

Just a warning to those thinking of doing the led upgrade... If you ever have any electrical issues on your truck, there is a good chance your dealer may not cover the repairs. I(it usually depends on the dealer)

I want these led lights real bad, but I don't want to risk my warranty especially since I have an extended warranty.

I guess, sure, if I have poorly wired headlights and fuss about an electrical problem, absolutely....

But with a plug and play (no wires cut or modified), I could simply plug back in my stock OEM '17 headlights instead of my OEM '18 headlights...

I can't see this being a problem with a proper harness, and have zero concern.

I think that would be real difficult for Toyota to try to do, as they would have to prove that what ever we did caused the electrical issues. Secondly the way in which this is done prevents any cutting of any wires and this mod actually puts less strain on the electrical system due to the fact that less actual current is being used to provide a greater amount of light. I had to move only 2 pins. Third the lights are a Toyota OEM product not an aftermarket product so I would struggle to see how Toyota would benefit form not covering any unrelated electrical issues. Finally with this setup I can return my truck to stock within a 1/2 hour.

I am not and electrical engineer but this is my harness almost completed. It is completed now and installed
    _DSC0074_zpszspbj40s_7cc96bc7a21697f5ecf350427961b14a310246c6.jpg

I am very impressed with the light output. I put this together a midnight last night out of necessity.
    _DSC0078_zpsrke3ib7h_3eceb4e7f4e18fe0d26ba33ba4dd3a7b098f4a28.jpg

one more gratuitous photo just because I love the look of these pick-ups.
    _DSC0076_zpsxijx1sjn_3c87d1937c762e67b07ed5d2375735a65d30dcde.jpg

@thomasbus337 (thank you) after looking at the wiring diagram I am 100% confident in this set-up, and would recommend it to you or anyone on the fence. It just out performs the the 14-17 stock headlights with out being obnoxious.
