2018 OEM LED Headlights

Does anyone have a links to videos of the DIY for the harness and motocontrol?
I saw the one for under the dash relay, but is there any for the Morimoto, fuse wire and wire harness to the led lights...

How does one connect the fuse wire?

I'm about to ditch my retrofits for these but I'm kinda confused about the different harnesses. The one above is only $90 and it sounds like that's all you need but all others are about $175 plus you need to use the Morimoto relay in conjunction. Can anyone clarify?

 

If you use the one from TRS you WILL NOT need any additional relays or the Morimoto control relay.

 

That's what I was thinking but was thrown off by the lower cost than the others. Thanks for clarifying

 

Just checked and when added to the cart they show up as "sold out". I wonder how many they had to begin with?

They tested the harness just with the headlights but not in the actual truck so I guess didn’t work that way and took the posting down who knows, the harness they sell is perfect only for Platinum/1794 only, for non LED models the DRL will use the fuse tap style only they just power the DRLs to any 12V switched power and not keep the factory style and dimming function, I like the idea to ditch the Motocontrol but not how the DRL work with their harness

The only thing I cannot understand is how to choose color they said offer both Chrome and Black Chrome Headlights but there’s no option to select this, maybe if you leave a message when placing your order

 

Yeah I had retros before, blacked out TRD PRO headlights with LED strip and Panamera LED shrouds same like you D2S 4.0 projectors

 

So from which person did you order the harness from???

 

I agree it is confusing. I noticed in the product specs under compatibility it lists the part numbers for the black ones only, which is what I want but hesitant to order until it is made more clear. Also odd the harness is advertised but is immediately out of stock.

 

I used the diode method in my old 2000 Honda Civic Si to keep LO Beam with HI beam and it worked but I remember I had a weird thing when pulling the stalk to flash with headlights, this work but isn’t reliable mine lasted for about 2 years until the diode blew out I guess this is if you use HI Beam for long period of time. The diode help to block current passing to the other side when using LO beam but when using the HI beam it allows current going to the LO beam wire

Ordered the one from Retrofit Source, says on back order so I called to find out the ETA and they said it should ship today or tomorrow. I asked about the harness itself on how it worked and the way it's wired, the guy couldn't give me any info on it.

Anyone have one of these installed?

Not yet . I got the headlights in the other day and I just got the harness this afternoon. The weather is shit today but I'm hoping to have them in by Monday. I have to say that pics do not do the 2018 headlights justice, they look pretty badass in person.

 

I have been reading all of these threads but I am still confused on what harness I need. I have a 2018 SR5 (w/ LED DTRL strip). What do I need to get the 2018 full LED headlights to work?

 

You will need a harness same as current Platinum/1794 since you already have LED DRL

 

It looks like there are a few out there. Are there any that are 100% plug-n-play? I would rather not mess with pins, wiring etc. Thanks for the help.

 

They are from what ive read,on mine i will pron leave the marker wire so there on as well,seen a pic of ot done on here somewhere and like the look.
