So far I am satisfied with the A/C on my 2018 1794. It has been 102 degrees here and has been fine. I do leave a couple of windows down an inch or so plus I open the moon roof a little. It cools down in a couple of blocks.

Ac seems to be cold but any solutions for the weak blower? At the highest setting and recirculating it dosent blow nowhere near as hard as my old silverado. Love my tundy but dang that ac blower sucks

When I purchased my used 2015 the ac was ice cold from the second i turned it on. Then two years later one day i felt the ac temp change from ice cold to almost outside air. Then it just started blow cold but never like it used to.
Im experiencing the same thing that you are now. If the truck is moving then it gets cold, but if im parked then it gets overwhelmed by the heat coming from the windshield. Ive tried to rev up an no difference. I remember comments from everyone that got in the truck about the ac being ice cold. It is what it is. By the way, someone mentioned a valve located in the dash. It costs 2500 to replace because the entire dash needs to be taken apart. This valve regulated the freon

Has anyone noticed that it seems the passenger side vent air doesn’t seem quite as cold as the drivers side vents? My wife noticed it and showed me. Just wondering what everyone’s experience are with this as well. This is with the system set on Sync so that everything is identical. Thanks

I have the same complaint with my 2018 Tundra and also we a 2014 Tacoma I used to have. I can leave the AC on high running full blast on a hot day and it seems to cool the cab, but not a cold as it should. Plus it doesn’t seem to move very much air! It's probably already been shared in this thread, but I think they changed the refrigerant used in the AC systems on the 2014 and up trucks. It sucks because my wife’s 2019 Sequoia will freeze you out in no time no matter the outside temperature! I’m sure it’s some environmental or cost savings reason to change the system.

But I have always assumed that whoever designed the AC system in these trucks must be the same person who designed the JBL audio system in this trucks. Both are meh and don’t put out enough cold air or sound!

    None....
When I turn my 2021 tundra on max ac it kicks the fan up one more level than the fan speed. It blows just as hard or harder the the f150s and silverados I have been driving.

If the truck is sitting in 95 degree temps and it's 140 in the truck it does take a little while to cool the cabin down. After 15 minutes on max ac and driving at high speeds I usually will turn the fan speed down some. Because I'm starting to feel cold and my nipples are poking through my shirt.

It runs over 100 here during the summer and my 2018 Tundra has no problem keeping the cab cold.

This is my 2020 double cab after a 10 mile 65mph highway drive to work. Max AC, 50% fan speed, recirculate on, no sunlight, 75 degrees and high humidity outside.

My 2010 crewmax, even with an auxiliary trans cooler in front of the condenser blows noticeably colder. I can’t drive all the way to work with the AC on the whole time without becoming an ice cube. Vent temp for the 2010 is usually about 40 degrees even on hot 90+ degree humid Florida days.

I’m going to have the 2020 evacuated and recharged within the next couple weeks, and see if that makes any difference.

Not sure about the 2021 but on mine if I use max ac it kicks into recir mode. When you get into a vehicle that has been sitting in the sun it is best to pull in cooler outside air until the cabin starts to cool.

So I was able to get my truck in the shop this last weekend to have the AC recharged to the proper amount.

The machine recovered 476g of refrigerant, and 0.4 ounces of oil. The truck supposedly calls for 650g of refrigerant, and no specified amount of oil. But either way, it was pretty low. It held vacuum for 30 minutes and didn’t give any warning that the system has a leak. So I don’t know if it’s been low since the factory, or if someone has tampered with the system.

So after adding about 3oz of 1234yf oil, and 650g of 1234yf Freon; the vent temperature decreased by a noticeable amount.

Outside temp was 80 degrees, overcast, and high humidity, very similar to my previous post when the vent temp measured around 50 degrees.
