After reading many many threads, I have decided to attempt the following upgrade.

2019 Tundra SR5 TSS Dbl Cab w/o JBL audio. At this time I am going to use the factor HU.

    Alpine KTP-445U Amp
    PowerBass OE69C-TY 6x9" Speakers
    PowerBass OE65C-TY 6.5" Speakers
    AutoHarnessHouse 4438 Harness

I was also thinking of adding the below Interface to add a powered subwoofer (already owned)

Would it be possible to add the interface near the underseat amp instead of at the back of the HU. It sure would make the install much easier.

I honestly cannot help you, since its different than my setup. Hopefully someone will pop in who can help you both.

I have that setup but no amp. However I feel that you should be able. The amp you getting has an extra switch lead wire for amp as well

Since it is Amazon you can always return it ;)

I thought you added that same amp? It was your back and forth of questions and answers with the Capt that helped me towards this project.

@CaptSpaulding Please jump on in as your input would be appreciated. TIA

    My bad “no sub”
but yes that is the amp I have with same speakers. Wonderful sound. Lots of base for my taste without subwoofer

I am new to this so please keep that in mind. Actually 25 years ago, I added a super nice system to my first new car. But technology has changed and my memory is starting to fail this old man.

I am not looking to build some crazy expensive unbelievable system. I just want to improve the crappy factory system for a reasonable cost.

I keep reading about dsp units. What is your opinion? If I read the thread correctly, using the above mentioned setup, I would not need to add this item.

Same here! I just wanted a good sound. Alpine and plug and play powerbass speakers worked great.

I did some research, taco tunes makes an inline plug that originally plugged into the factory amp with leads to go to a line level input for a sub amp. That same harness can be plugged inline between the factory harness and new Alpine amp harness to give me line level input leads to feed to a sub. I'm looking at a small 10" powered sub that will fit under the front seat with the Alpine amp and allow the door speakers to run just mids and highs (120 hz and higher) and the sub to run anything under 120 hz. Should clean up the sound a little more. Other than running an 8ga power wire, this would still be basically plug and play and easily removed/bypassed should I have to.

I installed one of those cheap Rockville 10” powered subs in my CM and mounted it to the rear wall behind the seat (didn’t want driver seat to vibrate all the time).

I ran 4 gauge power wire from the battery for power. Spliced in a PAC SNI-35 line out converter under the front passenger seat and ran RCA cables for the signal input to the powered sub.

To be honest, I like having the extra bass when I want it and I turn it down when I don’t (at the HU and/or on the remote bass knob) I do think that I will be looking to put in a different amp to replace the factory at some point like the OP, but right now, I can live without it.

Because of the unknown with this brand, I bought a 3-yr warranty for 20 bucks on the powered sub. I paid just under $200 and am happy with the extra bass and so far, it’s worked great since April when I installed.

Following this thread. This might be the route I go too. How do you like the new dash speakers?

    Great question.

So, ST what are your thoughts on these dash speakers? My truck is only a month old and it seems like the dash speakers are already sounding scratchy.

Yea I would go with https://www.amazon.com/Infinity-REF3022CFX-Reference-Speakers-Edge-driven/dp/B01E4JWG6I
Infinity 3022 I have them on both sides and it sounds amazing.
You can start there actually before you swap everything out. It might be enough for you to be happy.

Did you just replace the corner dash speakers? Or, did you replace all 3 of the dash speakers? And if so, did you do anything different for the center speaker? Thanks again for all your info and help.

I posted on page 3 but this will be your harness from OEM to alpine. Under the seat.

    Trigger has been pulled.

Amazon order placed. Looks like Sat will be spent in the garage.

    Alpine KTP-445U Amp
    PowerBass OE69C-TY 6x9" Speakers
    PowerBass OE65C-TY6.5" Speakers
    AutoHarnessHouse 4438 Harness

I did install the infinity speakers in the dash corners this past wkend. Some improvement but not enough. That's why I decided to replace factory door speakers as well as the amp.

Attached is the speaker diagram wiring for colors I got from this or some other thread.

I used this and it worked great no issues at all. I think OP posted this on this here thread.

No sound material yet. But it is coming and I will use full door skins they sell and back. But not the roof or floor.

Also if you look at one of the pictures I posted above you will notice 1 wire dark blue with white is not connected to anything. That is normal.

So, I ordered a small powered sub that will fit under the passenger seat with the Alpine amp. I tapped into the 4438 harness to grab high level inputs for the sub. Only thing left to do is run the power from the battery and plug it all in. Should be all done come Sunday morning.

I got the front door panels off and added sound deading material. Also removed the speakers. Next I removed passenger seat and pulled old amp. Got one delivery from Amazon, the amp. Unfortunately the harness and speakers have been delayed. It shows a delivery from 21st-24th. So much for a perfect wkend to tackle my project. Gonna have to button it back up if they don't arrive by 9mp tonight. Ugh.

Which wires did you tap for the sub? I was thinking of doing same. I assume you did it on the input side "before the amp".

    Thanks in advance.

Lately AMAZON has been on late on all shipping. Something changed or the folks working for them want to take their time.

True. But I think this lastest rain event kinda screwed up the airports and delivery. Fingers crossed it makes it here today.

Christmas came early. Amazon did not have app updated. My stuff just got delivered. Time to grab a beer and head to the garage.

Install complete. It took a little longer than expected. I was concerned and a little worried about the wiring. Some of the colors on my 2019 Turndra were different. I added sound deadening to the doors. I also put the tweeters in the sail panels.

WOW. What a difference. There is so much more fullness to the sound. I actually need to adjust the amp because it is a little too much bass. No doubt this was worth every penny. And I enjoyed doing the project.

Thanks to all for the advice.

I just need to address a slight interference noise with the AM stations. It was not there before or at least not noticeable. Any thought from the experts?

    Again, thanks to all.

UPDATE: It turns out the interference noise with the AM was due to being parked in my garage while doing the install. After I pulled out, the static was gone. I adjusted the amp settings and I love the sound. For a small investment of time and money, the project was a huge success. Again thanks to all for the advice and help.
