I've ranged from a worst tank of 13.9 mpg to mid 14's. I'm averaging 14.9 on this tank but it's dropping bit by bit. I've been trying to drive easier and it started at 15.9. I'm at 3/4 tank. Each drive cycle it drops. I figure it will settle in around 14 as my average. 50% interstate.
The F150 Ecoboost I traded was leveled with 34" Duratracs. It averaged about the same. Prior to that F150 I had a 2012 5.0 F150. It averaged 16-17 on the same drive with a best trip mpg of 21.9. Both trucks were 4X4 Screws with the FX4 package.
This 5.7 reminds me a lot of my 5.0. Well, except for mpg.

Just got back from a trip from Home Depot which is about 35 miles away and got 28 mpg because I had a 30 mph tail wind the entire way back.

Don't ask me what I got when I was heading in to the wind on the way there...

I Have a 2012 tundra dbl cab and get 15-17 mpg city/hwy combined. Daily driver and use 89 octane all the time. Plus I also tow a 1700 lb boat on weekends. Tires are at correct pressure no change, no lift. I also try and keep the rpms below 2k when driving.

I'm averaging around 15 in my 5.7l, and I drive like a grandma, never tow, and live in a flat city. I just can't believe some of you guys who say you get 18mpg or whatever unless you're in the 4.6l.

I burn 87 and my drive to/from work is around 90 miles with around 75% interstate and the rest curvy country roads, the overall average speed is around 60 MPH and I'm getting 17.7 MPG just touching the 17.8 mark yesterday. I haven't reset it since going to Michelin AT2 about 14 months ago and I can live with that.

I have the TRD dual exhaust and at about 1000 miles on my 2016 and average about 15.1 all around. Thinking of adding the TRD cold air intake also. I have heard as you break it in the MPG may increase also.

Anyone else find that accelerating slowly decreased gas mileage? My truck is still new 3,000 miles on it, but after reading this thread, I wanted to experiment a little bit to see what I could get out of it. For a tank I tried to keep it around 2,000 rpm while accelerating, I don't know how you can even accelerate at 1,500 rpms. At 2,000 the truck constantly felt bogged down. For that tank which was a combination of city and hwy, I averaged 14.8mpg. I couldn't stand driving it like that especially since it felt bogged down all the time so this tank I went back to driving it normally usually around 2,500-3,000 rpm while accelerating so I'm not flooring it or anything, but according to the computer, I am now up to 15.3 mpg and that is with about 100 miles of that pulling a 16 ft flatbed utility trailer. Watching the instant gas mileage, it didn't seem to matter if I was accelerating slowly or not, the gas mileage was about the same, but at 1,800-2,000 rpms, I was accelerating for a lot longer time.

Just a few, more to come
I would tend to agree. I've noticed the same. I believe that accelerating at a moderate rate and then getting into a taller gear and cruising is more efficient in my Tundra as well. The truck seems to invite a more standard go with the flow type driving rather than hypermiling techniques to achieve the best mpg. I'll take it.
On the flip side, floor it a few times and I see my MPGs drop nearly every time I floor it a 1/10mpg or so. Gotta just drive 'normal'

I average 18.5 mixed (mostly highway) according to the computer. My best was 19.5 on a long highway trip. For some reason my previous two 5.7l Tundras, which were RCSB and therefore lighter than my DC, got much worse MPG. As far as using anything other than 87 octane, don't waste your money. I just read an article about how much money (billions $) Americans waste every year using higher octane gas than their vehicle is designed for. Its not better just because its called "plus" or "premium". Its meant primarily for vehicles with forced induction and high compression ratios. Would you put 15W-50 oil in your engine just because it has a higher number associated with it than 0W-20?

First tank in my 2016 Limited 2wd stock was 15.1 calculated and 16.0 on the dash. Dealer added a TRD CAI and TRD Pro exhaust today...it will be interested to see if there's any difference at all.
    50/50 highway/city driving.
    Forgot to add, I have a 5.7...

Just did a weekend trip to Dallas from San Antonio last weekend. MPG was 16.46 there and 16.26 on the way back, did 70-75mph. Display said 16.9MPG each way. Normal driving to work I average around 15. 2014 CM 5.7L, 4wd with 2" level kit and tonneau cover. 285/55/R20 tires

My Toyota salesman has a Tundra that he commutes to work with. He gets 20 MPG on his highway commute. He said that the key is to keep it to 65 MPH due to the 4:30 rear end. Anything above 65 and your mileage will drop. Its not just trucks-my '07 Outback lost 4 MPG between 65 and 70 MPH.

The Tundra is a liar. One tank in 8500 miles was better than what was claimed. I think only twice it has been within .2
