@dcsleeper408 Roman hooked me up on this earlier today. $100 cheaper than at your local dealership. a few posts up he has shared the links of where to buy the controller and panel.

I may be able to get them, but I honestly do not know 1) if it will work, and 2) what all parts it will take to do the swap. Last time I looked up the parts, almost everything associated with the gas tank was different between the two sizes.

I could go with a transfer flow tank I just want the fuel gauge itself and the digital range read out to reflect the new tank. Can that be done?

I have the 46g tank from transfer flow and the gauge reads accurately. The display on the dash that says "miles to empty " is a little bit confused.

In reality I don't really use a miles to empty. But it would be nice if it was accurate. What does it read on a full tank?

ok, so the "miles to empty has always been pretty meaningless. When I drove off the dealer lot I think it said 420. gradually it has decreased its estimate to about 380. That is what it read with a full 46g tank also. Now, with over 450 miles on the tank it is saying about 120 which might be close if you do not account for the 6g-8g +/- that Toyota has designed into the system computer for 'reserve'. The gauge is reading slightly above a quarter tank. I anticipate filling up every 600m +/-. My fuel mpg avg is slightly above 15.

I absolutely love being able to drive past gas stations without worry! The 26g stock tank on the 2015's is just bad engineering.

BTW, I think this thread is about the controller so I will include this note. Adding the controller is easy. Having it register with the 2015 system computer and show up on the display is awesome. Having my 2015 Pro up to or exceeding the 1016 and perhaps the 1017 Pro is my goal.
And before someone flames me, I do not want the leather seats, and if my truck had them I would have the same seat covers I have now regardless!

    I
purposely got cloth. I think the only way I'll trade in this truck is if toyota either A: offers a diesel, or B: puts a 6.5 ft bed on the crew max. Just a few more things I'd like to do. Larger tank, and upgrade the internals to make it a TRD pro. If neither A or B happen I plan on keeping this truck to 200k miles

One of the things that makes this Pro nimble off road is the tight turning circle. For me, I would not want to lose that by having a longer wheel base. I already creased the rocker area below the rear door on the drivers side. We all have different ideals, and again, for myself, I would not want a diesel. Noisy clatter, smokey exhaust, and the smell would only be redeemed if I was towing frequently which I do not plan on doing. I'm glad I have the Double Cab since I prefer the bed space.

    At this p
at this point just turn it into a TRD pro with the wheels, shocks, exhaust and skid plate. I wonder how long tundras tend to last. I know that tacomas can get into the 250k relatively easily. Not sure about the larger trucks

Glad I took the risk on this one so more people could know. The guys in the parts department at my local dealership are going to spread the word also

I have a 2014 tundra. Would like to use the OEM brake controller if possible. Is there an adapter harness out there? That can be used to connect the factory brake controller to the harness at the kick panel? Or has anyone hard wired one in, if that is possible?

    Thanks

I'm pretty sure the factory controller is only for the 15's and up. The 14's have a different connector and lack the software to display it on the drivers info screen. I doubt it will work for you.

Does anyone know if the OEM Brake Controller is proportional or time delay?

I would also like to know about a wire harness to use the factory brake controller with my 14 Tundra. I get that it wont read on the center display screen but do you really need to have it display? I've never had trailer brakes before but want to purchase a camper and like to have factory looks. In my mind as long as they are hooked up you should be able to just turn them on and figure out where you want them without having a screen tell you but like I said I have never had them before. Any clarification on this would be helpful.

As stated earlier in the thread, the factory Toyota OEM brake controller does not work with 14 and earlier Tundra. It only works in the 15 and later Tundra. However, you can use a Prodigy 3 and install it near the parking brake (the plug in is in the kick panel near the parking brake). To learn more about how the Prodigy works, go to etrailer.com here -> https://www.etrailer.com/bc-2014_Toyota_Tundra.htm
The listing shows that the cable is included and they have some videos showing how it all works - the Prodigy comes with user and set up instructions.
