2013 Sequoia Limited to TRD FAUX build now with BOOST!

Fuel pumps hate me, I tried to start the car had to pull the pump back out, it didn't like the plastic hose, I have a 50.00 submersible hose somewhere for the Sequoia but I can't find the damn thing.

 

I found the missing hose & it's aliveeeee!!!!

Still needs it's cooling system, belt, power steering reservoir & plumbing & to bleed the clutch slave

Everything from 8-13. tried it with no spring & it seems to work but feels very loose.

Maybe because the slave needs te be bled?

 

When putting those little springs back on the drum brakes I've done, the solution I found online said to use some cutting pliers. squeezing enough to get a grip on it and pull, but not enough to cut it

 

I tried that, nope, the issue is I'm working under the dash, behind the clutch pedal with no room on either side because brake pedal & wires/the side of the car.

I got these which I swore came with an ounce silver ingot because 127.00 WTF???



Still no. I'm going to see how it feels without it.

 

Upper & lower hoses, expansion tank & it's mount, powersteering hoses & fluid & bleed the clutch are all that is left.


Put the radiator in, of course the widest part where the wire is landed near the water pump.

Pushed the shroud in & rotated teh fan.

 

Can't get the clutch to bleed or it would be driving.

We didn’t get much more than a medium sprinkle maybe 10 miles north of you, but did get some decent wind.

Active sc cooler I have been using for the power steering barfed up the fluid


Thinking it was hoses I cobbled together I went through the hassle of picking up the car only to find it was easily accessible on the ground.




Found a fitting to bridge the hoses, Filled up the fluid Tried to go for a drive.....



Said f it, came inside, was warm so opened the shade & saw...

Got as many pictures as I could from inside, went out & got a few before they said adios!




Pretty amazing how fast they can go from in a pool to gone.

Just ordered p&p Megasquirt for the BMW. Fuck antiquated MS41 computer BS & the asshole tuners that it needs

 

Megasquirt is freaking amazing, I had it installed in under 20 minutes, the car started immediately, the tuner remoted into my laptop & set it up, it drove well in 15 minutes, 2 logs in, it is 98% there.

The computer has a MAP sensor onboard so the MAF is eliminated & it sees boost so the tuner can perfectly set it up & limit max boost so the motor isn't blowed up.

Also, the writes are so fast at first I didn't think anything happened. lol

Nice! I'd like to start upgrading things more on the M3, but I still have a warranty on it. Thought I had fixed all the top end oil leaks, but it started smoking in the same area at the rear of the engine as before. Really need to get it to a shop and let them deal with it

Waiting for a tune revision, it gets an odd "burble"/hesitation/power oddity over 4k after a few strong pulls. Damn thing has power to pull in all gears (when behaving)

Another thing I just learned, there is no such thing as a cel, tuner said this when I asked how I can see them:

Codes/diag is more made for dealers/techs to figure things out without needing more actual knowledge

So I need to learn how to see that.

 

Just went for a ride in the Z3 with the Wife, she liked it.

Good news is I go to the front of the class.

 

I took the BMW motor to the builder, I melted somewhat every piston & a piece of a valve!!!

On the happy news, on the 765 mile round trip I averaged 15mpg, best tank 18 (I filled up by 1/4-1/2 trying to get as many samples as possible. worst 9.

I left the house thinking hypermiling, made it 20 miles before an asshat was furnishing the fast lane & that was it. On the trip, I pissed off 2 F150s a twin turbo AMG Mercedes and a fuhraz 370z.

 

Wow, that's some carnage...looks like a lot of heat. The valve reliefs on the piston are sharp edges and sharp edges become hot spots, which is probably why the damage is starting there...that valve probably came into contact and broke, I'd be surprised if the valve's not bent.

 

The builder's brother owns the machine shop. He is bringing the head and block there at noon (18 minutes from now)

We will find out then.

Oof, how'd they do that? Track car? All things considered, mine get babied more than most.

I had this purchased on backorder for 2 years before cancelling it. May try again after moving back to CO.
