2013 Sequoia Limited to TRD FAUX build now with BOOST!

I bought a Silver Sky Metallic Limited 4/10/21 from an Autonation in Corpus Christi. It has still not shipped but hopefully "soon"

In the mean time I have been acquiring parts.

I had a Platinum driver side light left over from my Tundra and got the passenger Friday. The Pro grill and hood bulge came today.

 

Also, I forgot huge shoutout to xrunnerdude67 for his 2018+ LED headlight harness! (second one I bought)!

Just got the truth of why my truck is not moving. They were offering too little $ Salesman just said they increased the pay trying to get someone to pick it up.

Has anyone dealt with shipping delays on a vehicle bought from another state?

It's also scary to think of the truck coming from someone not happy about their pay/wanting to turn & burn.

 

Not sure how much you're spending, but if it were me I would be buying a one way plane ticket so I could inspect the vehicle and verify condition before signing anything. And then drive it back. Flights are so cheap right now it wouldn't be that much extra of an expense.

Before we bought our Platinum we were considering flying to pick up a Limited I found in VA. Tracking down a 2018+ white, 4x4, 2nd row captains Limited was almost like hunting a unicorn in the wild. Ended up settling for a platinum that just so happened to be driving distance (2 hours one way).

 

This is exactly my situation. It is a Limited 4X with Captain chairs. I don't want the Platinum air suspension, it has 126k miles, is in virtually perfect condition (minor paint rash on the plastic passenger side bumper), I had it taken for a PPI so I'm ok there.

The flight & drive would actually be less than shipping.

When I initially bought it, my plan was to fly & drive. They delayed the availability, now my Wife is at our house in Mexico and I have no one to watch my dogs.

Exactly why we got it. Ideal interior layout for multiple kids. 4x4, rugged, reliable (Toyota)... can't beat it.

It seems there is a cutthroat unregulated industry moving vehicles, from entering my info in that first site, I have had no less than 100 texts, emails & phone calls. They are offering the service easily and pickup within two days for 700-1300 bucks. Some want a 265 deposit now, some other amount upon pickup. All say delivery within 4 days but their boilerplate fine print says 5-15 days for pickup.

One I spoke to said the clearinghouse that all use has my job listed at 1200 and gave me a phone number and bill of lading number. I called and indeed they are having difficulty finding a transporter (where is Jason Stratham when I need him)???

Seeing as it is their business to do this and they don't get paid unless they deliver it I doubt they are lying when they say East Texas to Phoenix is an out of the way route & the others are lying when they say it's a common easy route.

I guess I need to wait and if it does not get done, I can fly there May 4th after my wife gets home. (If I survive)

I'm hoping I get the pickup confirmation soon (it's 2 hours later in Texas) and also that they have a tracking system available so I can see when it's delivered and go get it!

Shock mounts were sent separately for some reason, Dobinsons front springs are coming tomorrow have to wait 2 months before the rears come, they're backordered.

 

The contact from the shipper just called & said the truck should be at the dealer by 5. I'll get my butt over there!

Got the panels for under the headlights, dropped them at the bodyshop, came home & the front springs were delivered.

 

Good news bad news.

I have it, it runs & drives, goes into all 4WD modes fine BBBBUT. It thinks it's overheating.

First time it gave the error, I freaked, pulled over and checked the coolant. Little low but not by alot. When I started it back up, back to normal. Drove slowly, it goes to hot & goes back to the middle on it's own.

I informed the dealer, they will take it in and fix it. I will be looking for more issues and have an appointment tomorrow for a full PPI

 

Good thing I'm replacing the headlights, I'd be pissed I need to if I were not. These are way worse than the ones in my 2010 that had 40k more miles when I replaced the lights.

The shelf unit was in the way, I moved it over & there is barely room!

I installed the remote start, plug & play, easy install. It needs to be programmed & just refused. I watched the video 5 times looking for what I was doing wrong. Turns out I am using the valet key which is a no go. As$hats sent me ONLY A f00king valet key!

They need to send a pre set up master or pay to have one made. This is bull$hit!

I picked up the truck Friday, after a few miles it overheated. I filled the empty overflow and it seemed ok, then acted like it was only saying it was overheated. The 17 mile trip took almost an hour because I had to keep pulling over.

After I got home and It cooled down I opened the radiator and added SIX QUARTS, it holds 14.

Shame on you for selling a truck that did not have its coolant checked.

Yesterday I took it for a PPI, that was fine but I also tried to have a key made at a locksmith and he could not BECAUSE YOU GAVE ME THE VALET KEY.

Only a dealer (per the locksmith) can make keys that will do everything from a valet key and it seems I can’t lock the glovebox or open the tailgate with this key.

Renee said your used cars are fully functional but as far as keys go you give what you got. I submit a valet key does not a fully functional vehicle make and you need to pay for a master key.

I have to say from start to (hopefully) finsh this has been the worst customer experience I have ever had and I lived in Mexico for 5 years where the customer service mantra is we don’t car go away if you don’t like us.

Please let me know what dealer I need to take the truck to for the key to be made.
