2013 Sequoia Limited to TRD FAUX build now with BOOST!

Motor is ready to come out, stand isn't here yet and I neither want to leave it on the hoist nor put it on the ground so it's sitting until the stand comes supposedly the 8th.

 

Changed my mind.

 

Thoughs? Odd stuff on the flywheel.

 

Not sure. I had a shop swap out the clutch and flywheel on my M3 probably 6-7 years ago. Never saw.whaybit looked like

 

I'm no expert, but it looks like hot spots from slipping

 

I forget what seal it is, but there's a notorious leaker in my M3 that I also had replaced at the same time. Should check and see ifnit affects you model

 

That's my thinking. I never felt slipping. I'm thinking there was too much torque for the pressure plate. I ordered Level 2 HD Sachs clutch and PP & an Act aluminum flywheel.

 

Miracle!!! of course, no instructions. Had to figure it out.

 

Hot spots but it is at weird places? Sounds like you have what might have been a potential problem well taken care of though!

 

Agreed, I ordered a new HD Sachs disk & pressure plate & a Spec aluminum 11lb flywheel.

 

M3 clutch is here. Mechanic says Sequoia will be ready Friday 1/24, BMW motor will be ready to pick up 1/25!

 

I had to put the pins in, it is missing the fasteners Used the old ones, asked the seller for them.

 

Bit the bullet, ordered a new TC from Toyota. I'd be pissed if the 143k TC failed after this.

 

It will be there a month tomorrow, but the body work is done & the motor is finally out.

 

I'm in alternator hell.

Thanks to while I'm in there I am replacing almost everything. using my VIN, I ordered the alternator from Toyota, they packaged it horribly, it was damaged in transit, got another. Shop went to put it in last night, nope, wrong connector. Toyota sent a 150 AMP, I need 180. Ordered a Denso from Napa, bring it to the shop, same 150

Denso USA has it on a national backorder.NAPA says they have them but they are 3 days out

 

You should buy a lotto ticket, got to have some good luck coming to you after this run of shit! Make sure the old alternator doesn't keep the ring pins that align the alternator to the block, or you'll be in serpentine belt hell.

Theoretically, right 180 amp Denso out for delivery from Rock Auto, paid 17 bucks for next day, still ended up less than NAPA.

Depending on when it comes I won't be able to go might try UBER courrier for the first time.

 

Third alternator is the charm!

Supposed to get the Sequoia back today, 33 days since I dropped it off. I asked last night, they said they need to test drive it tomorrow. Seems vague, I bet I don't get it today. I need it back to go to L.A. to get the BMW motor, supposed to go tomorrow.

 

Got it back, feels ok, the odd idle is back & the transmission isn't dropping down when floored, I can manually get to 1,2,3 hoping it needs learning or something it needs to go through after a month without a battery.

 

It'll go through its re-learning phase. Gladcya got her back!

 

I had no throttle & the codes won't clear.



Erased the memory & ran relearn, got the throttle back but it stalls and the code comes back



Going back to the shop.

 

Shockingly, it was the damn accelerator sensor (that is the entire pedal) as a hail mary, I got one & it's fixed! WTF?

 

Not the pedal, apparently the MAF/Throttle/bank 1 02 sensor bundle of wires are damaged & sporadically are not transmitting their data.

It's going back for the third time today. Frustrated is not strong enough to explain my feelings.

 

Still have not gotten the Sequoia back, the shop has ruled out a wire issue, think it is injectors in 1 & 3 which has lots of missing. I am getting PS 750s & hopefully that will solve it.

I got a HF rotating stand for the Sequoia motor.
The quality is good compared to the cheaper one, All of these I have seen online had the Daytona branding on the inside leg, I guess they just didn't care/want to "advertise"?








Zerks on the stand were pretty bad, one ripped off when I removed the gun. The one on the rotating assembly was impossible to get the gun on so I replaced them all.

 

Seriously losing patience & faith in these guys, how can you mistake the Innovate Bosch wideband sensors for the OEM O2s?

I asked at 4 having not heard anything from them if I can pick it up.

The worst part is Sniv & TK have looked at my logs & said no communication from bank 1 O2 & they keep saying it is fine. I told them the Bosch sensors are for the gauges several times before yesterday.

Got it back, it feels good, have not gone all out, want to get logs to Sniv & then see whats what.

The O2 code is the heater, P0031 I suppose it is possible it happened to die now but all 4 are about 8 months old, ordered an NGK from NAPA, should be at the store at 4. So happy to have it in the driveway!

 

It's running well, no codes after the 3rd drive (into 20 or so) logs are ok, it needs a new tune to make up for the larger injectors & differences in the new motor.
