I need to do all the fluids and am doing the rear subframe bushings which requires removal of the rear end and brakes, I have to bleed the hydraulic system including the clutch slave so that's next. The rear shocks and springs will go in when it goes back together.

It runs! The DME needs to learn so it needs to warm up, & it's open headers so sounds like a P51 (which is pretty cool actually)

Finally found blanks that fit the M console.

 

I paid 93 to get the differential seals TODAY. Wanted to finish and drive tomorrow. I'll be demanding my money back for the shipping.

 

Spoke to Bimmerworld, refund incoming. Thier CS is amazing!

 

Fcp Euro is another great site. People have reported being able to return old oil to them for a refund! Lol

Starts right up but does not idle. I emailed the tuner asking if he sees anything in the file needing attention.

Startup sounds great! When my Tundra was Starting but not maintaining idle, it was a bad fuel pump. Fingers crossed the tuner see something

 

Sounds great, good job getting it all back together! It doesn't sound like it's stumbling or anything...does it run for the same amount of time if you restart it? Seems like a sensor calibration/pairing issue or maybe some kind of anti-theft.

 

Yup, every time. I can keep it running with the gas pedal. No codes. It has no driver side suspension, driveshaft is not connected clutch & brakes need to be bled (once the driver side caliper is connected) etc so not like I'm not driving it due to this.

 

If you can keep it running with throttle it's an air/fuel issue and your tuner can sort it out. Sounds like you're almost there!

 

27 year old MAFis the issue, verified by removing it & it idles. I had a cheap Amazon on hand & it runs fine. Ordered a new OEM.

 

99% there! Should be driving today!

I just put in the trans & differential fluids, all that's left is running the hoses from the PS pump/cooler to the reservoir & adding fluid. Taking a break & then I'm dropping it off the jackstands & going for a ride.

It runs! Feels great!

 

15mm spacer in. Except losing the short stud lock, I like it.

 

Belt broke, took the AC belt out. New tensioner that came with the SC froze.


Took all the other pulleys with it. The PS has chips. Water pump has a large crack.


I ordered all aluminum pulleys.

Before this happened I installed a big bore TB.

 

Too much belt tension, or just low quality pulley? The aluminum should do the trick though!

 

I think the pulley was defective.

 

Been wrestling the belt for 2 days.

 

So, thanks to the difference in the S54 oil cooler housing & M52, the power steering pump mount is different & the alignment is off so the belts don't run properly.

The accident had nothing to do with the bungy, it was a pry bar to the radiator.

 

Oops, left out I ordered an S54 power steering pump lol

Turns out, the S54 pump has higher pressure, ordered it's hose.

GAAAAAAA

 

Soooo the S54 hose is totally different & cannot fit. I called a hose repair place 32 miles away, they insisted they can swap the banjo the S54 pump needs to my hose, I drove there & (A) the woman at the counter acted like I was making up the call, the guy I spoke to came out and said oh sorry no.

WTF????

I went the the hole in the wall shop I found for the Sequoia & they did it in an hour, getting it in is an adventure, I'll start over tomorrow.

 

Got everything together, damn pump is defective (noisy) but works, took a drive, the car is pretty awesome!!!

Ordered a reman ZF, supposed to come in Wednesday.

 

Perseverance pays off, way to go man! That was like one gut punch after another, good work seeing it through!
