2013 Sequoia Limited to TRD FAUX build now with BOOST!

Looks good, man it was dirty! And what the heck, a loose socket in the engine bay or on the new engine? Is that a 10mm by chance?

 

It was, it is an 8, no clue where it came from, was on the ground after I pushed the car back into the garage (I pushed the front out the door)

I don't have the new motor yet, the pics are from the builder.

I'm thinking it was lost when BMW replaced the transmission, the DOT-R sticker is where the VIN should be, it is used when they replace major parts. I'm trying to find out when/why

Front coil overs in, sway will go in tomorrow, rear next week when I refresh the rear body bushings & rear lower control arm bushings/rear shocks & springs.

 

Motor disassembled, ready to go be cleaned/hot tanked/honed/whatever else needs to be done to make it new adjacent!

Those main caps are so tiny, I almost mistook them for rod ends. I guess they aren't known for handling much boost, huh? Hope the dude driving that M3 made it out OK...looks like a direct impact to the driver seat...damn.

 

They are good to about 10lbs, 450hp. It's the pistons that are known to let go.

One reason BMW is better than Toyota. Getting rid of Aux air is as simple as headers & tune it out.

Header doesn't have the port that's in the oem header.

 

The headers are like jewelry.

 

I got my ECU back.

 

Parts picked up from the machine shop, build happens this weekend!!!

I made a mount for the traction fluid reservoir out of shelf mounts.

 

Pulled the reservoir 2x. First was not happy with the wire tie mounts, then read reviews the fittings leaked. It's mounted with nuts & bolts & all the fittings now have silicone tape.

 

ZM linkage renewed.

 

It's ready, I can get it tomorrow via 760 mile round trip or wait until a week from Thursday. I think we all know what is going to happen.

Left at 3am, home at 3pm, missed the storm.

 

Motor is out & on it's stand!

 

Forgot something hit the tree on the way.

Didn't make any noise I hoped it was foam before forgetting about it.

No dent but won't just wipe off.

 

Normal cleaners did nothing, WD40...

 

Oversized SC cooler came.



Mounted on the S54 radiator

 

Headers are on the motor, less than no fun even out of the car.

 

Wow, 4 studs per runner...that sucker's not going anywhere.

 

So preeeeety!!!

 

The SC mount replaces the alternator bolts, and the power steering pump needs spacers due to the S54 oil filter housing.

 

Very pretty! I really need to get my M3 into the shop for some oil leaks dripping.

 

I hope it goes in like this, getting the belt on was a massive pain in the butt!




Had to release the outside PS pump bolt & hold the tensioner as far as it would go with a gigantic breaker bar on my long ratchet (with my shoulder) while levering the belt on with a screwdriver.

 

Transmission os out, it was no fun!
