First tank on the new tires, down about 1 mpg to 9 (mostly city)

I ordered lug locks that were like 69 bucks so I added another paint pen (I have gotten them from them before) I did not get the normal ship email so called & they said UPS won't ship the paint. I only added it to get free shipping so was like ok, just send my locks!

Larger belt for the SC, swivel sockets to get into the crannies for intake removal & studs needed for a different oil coolant passage the SC needs.

 

Test fit the IC, not going where M3's is. I have a condenser fan. Going to have to go under the fan.

 

Set up hood nostrils and a big over the engine intercooler like the Thunderbird Turbocoupes!

 

MAF tube came, need to drill a hole for the vacuum fitting.

 

Riddle me this:

Ordered 4 fittings to route the IC coolant. 3 just came, one says out for delivery. Amazon guy is parked in the middle of the block, I walk over & ask him to see if he has it. He says he is on break and can't look at the system. I asked if it made sense that there would be a single tiny fitting in another vehicle & he said we have drivers all over here. He had dumped a liquid that smelled like beer out his door on the street.

Weird sh!t.

Intercooler is in. Need to run the hoses that I have to pick up at Autozone. Pretty happy it fit there under the fan, less restriction up top to the radiator, condenser & engine bay& fully open to air!

 

I left the fittings out to squeeze the IC in. Upper was worse, ordered a 22mm ratcheting pivoting wrench to get it in the rest of the way.

 

Second time is the charm!

The beauty of Amazon is just create a return & use their label & $ comes back. The wrong belt $ is already back in my account.

The SC isn't in yet, I have HP tune & a base to drive to the dyno to get a full tune when it's done.

 

HP Tuners is what I've been looking at also. Who are you having tune it? I've used UMS in Mesa on my turbo 4runner and they did a good job. It's been boosted for 5 years now and the current owner is still running the exact set up as how I sold it to him with zero issues.

 

I have a reasonable quote from Xact in Tempe, I'll call UMS & see what they say.

I had my 2017 86 tuned for E85 & a full header exhaust by a guy in Ca, I asked him for a quote, he wanted 300 an hour x 4-5 hours because he hasn't done this platform before. When I said it was excessive, he said it's cheaper than a blown block & he has years of experience.

I said I did not think it was reasonable to ask me to pay for his education & he can't have it both ways, either he is proficient or needs hours to learn.

I called UMS, he said he does not tune Gen2/2.5 Sequoias & Tundras, said the ECU is locked & he is not comfortable charging for a tune.

 

I have 27 days to get the SC on, just made an appointment for 3/27 at Xact.

 

Basket built & tested. Ready to drop the tank.

Good to know! I am looking forward to seeing your results and experience with Xact. I'm going to regear and lock my sequoia later this year. Then I will dive into SC'ing. You've got 24 days on the clock, how's the install looking? If you ever need a hand or an extra set of eyes, I wouldn't mind driving out your way.

Injectors are finally out for delivery (delayed repeatedly, supposed to be here Sunday) Harness for the IC coolant pump tomorrow, theoretically. Hose kit, coolant passage gaskets & Toyota branded liquid/goo sealer from Toyota has not shipped, (Need to call Serra Toyota) so that's where I am.

All of our stickers are processed and shipped on Fridays. You may not see the charge till next week.

 

I've got a tube and a half of toyota FIPG if that is what you're referring to as toyota goo and if it doesn't get in when you need it. When I drop tanks, I usually will make sure the vehicle is close to empty on fuel which is pretty easy to do with these gas hogs, then use a floor jack or two to support the tank while I remove the straps that hold it up. Then I lower the tank onto a creeper and roll it out from under. Happy to help, I work m-f and have some time most evenings during the week as well.

Here are the parts, just spoke to him, waiting for the hose kit, it was in stock but he said Toyota only sends them by rail & it will be early next week. (he has them)

Injectors!!!

 

IC coolant pump harness, reservoir & spark plugs came, all that is outstanding are the gaskets for the TB & coolant crossover & SC hose kit, all from Toyota supposed to come next week.

I wired up the harness & tested the pump, it runs!




Also, I have 2 S&B dry filters I forgot about so have a temporary solution if I can't get the AFE to work.





Also, a new AFE wet, don't know if it's big enough to attach. We'll see.

 

The AFE fits.


Chalk test seems to say 40 lbs.
