I’m lucky they already grew up. Haha!

One of them did turn out to be an EDC festival raver girl.

Yep, I’m old enough we didn’t have EDC when I was a rave-tard. We had to go to illegal warehouse parties and shit. Ahhh the nineties. LoL

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

in my first on-road automotive life, I was a derelict street racer in the mid-90s. Warehouse races in City of Industry and West Covina and shit like that. We’d drive out there from AZ, like a ridiculous street crew of 10-11 imports and sport compacts in like ‘96-‘99. Bunch of our cars are in the Fast and the Furious. Was so stoked when someone decided to make a movie about what we were doing. And now… :anonymous:

Five suspended licenses in three states later - I drive a big truck in the dirt.

This could be fun if I can muster it between work, the long drive, and the lack of toilets

I'm thinking about charging a $50 fee per use of my trailer's residential sized shitter. $100 for the shower. I might do a bundle deal $125 for both.

I thought the website said they were few and far between though and if they aren't cleaned daily they will get nasty fast in the heat

    :fingerscrossed:
I only used them one of the years I attended, 2021, and they were near max capacity by the end of the week, but there was t.p. and the couple I visited were clean by porto-potty standards. I was actually surprised and pleased that my fellow Tundra heathens, um, took care of $4!t.

That year had, I think, fewer attendees, so probably organizers will plan for more porto-potties this year.

Note to anyone reading though: these kind of details are why it's important that everyone that plans to attend register in advance. Dozens of extra people opting in at the last minute, and showing up without registering, could screw up the best planning.

Edit: it's also not been very hot that time of year. Camp is higher than 7k elevation. Which works in our favour.

That reminds me, in addition to the previously mentioned charge to use my trailers bathroom, there will be a surcharge for tp.

Too bad they don't have cabins to rent. Sometimes it's nice to pool resources for a cabin at the off road parks.

I wonder how many people are doing the overland detachment thing. Sounds fun. We'll be tent camping.

There's a motel about... 3 (5?) miles from camp. The friends that stayed there were happy with it. Other than impacts to campfire sobriety planning, seems like a fine option.

I've experienced it be low 40's at night, 70's in the daytime. But probably plan for 30's because trying to sleep when you're cold sucks. Layered clothing is ideal. Staying clean helps, but any washing up is best accomplished in the daytime, because temps fall fast after sundown.

That just so happens to be where I'm from. A couple guys from the forum and I did a bunch of work to my truck around the 1st of April last year and that's about what the temps were. Those crazy guys slept in their trucks and seemed OK with it. I don't have a shell, but I do have a bench seat....

What about showers? Do people just wipe down
every day or is there a place to rinse off? I'm assuming it's really dusty there?

In past years, there've not been public showers. This is 'dispersed' camping in the woods... but in a location that's large enough to accommodate a big gathering. Apart from a few that bring trailers to boondock (no hook-ups), or fancy overlander trucks with water on board, it's wipe down or make a run to a truck stop near flagstaff for a shower.
