Service manual. Not exactly. I work at O'Reillys so I have access to their diagnostic site. The three major players that it comes up with for my symptoms are. Crank sensor, ecu, and tcm. Gotta admit this site of theirs is not the most helpful. I've gotten most of my better info from this forum site. But as is I've crossed off crank and cam sensors. Tcm would have went I would've noticed something before hand (hard shifts, high revving, ect) and I was hesitant on ecu as when I unplug shit it recieves the correct codes and displays them. So it's getting info. Maybe just not correctly relaying it back? Hell if I know.

    Source one for a '07-'08 z71 & it'll have an aluminum block.

Practically all of em 04 and up is drive by wire which is the only thing I'll need to make sure it has. 04 to 06 would be perfect. Pre DOD.

I hope you get this repaired, it looks like you have really peeled the onion on this in a big way. I had a 2006 2wd AC 4.7 V-8 I bought new and sold it to my daughter 12 years later when I bought my 2018 new. 225,000 miles and no real issues. She is still driving it (a lot harder than I did).

Not likely, but if the alternator enters the picture, almost always it is just the brushes that wear out. Very easy to repair, there is a module on the rear of the alternator that holds the brushes and is eezee peezee to replace at very low cost. Returns the alternator to like new performance (electrically).

Is the CEL on with the key in the on position? If it's not the ECU isn't powered.

Idk how much help this will be to the people in the future. But the problem was the ecm. I'll be honest here I didn't do much of a diagnosis on the computer side of things, but I had changed everything else so I ordered one just plugged it up and she fired right up after the rescan procedure.

Anyway thanks for all the replies. It was much help in the process.

It's interesting that they experimented with the Canadians first.

Idk if that's true. Or I mightve gotten ahold of an Canadian model.
I bought the new ecm from flagship as someone previously mention and they sent me an immobilizer reset as "required" by vin. So my truck def had one.
