I'm closing out my first year in sales. I sold around $27M this year. I'm paid well but we don't have a commission plan which is wild for sales. My end of year bonus is pennies compared to how much money I made them.

I've never gotten a bonus in my life. We were supposed to get a $1k bonus during covid for being on the front, lines quite literally. But I'm 1000% sure my boss at the time stole each of our bonuses and went on vacation, then left the company. It was later uncovered that he overcharged the client site I worked at by $150k
Easily 3x what I was making a year, if I worked OT.

I thought you were a meteorologist? Or do they sell stuff now? I’m confused.

LMAO. I'm going to take this as a compliment. I'm not smart enough to be weatherman. Anchorman maybe...Ron Burgundy?

I work in a niche sales role where I sell our services to other companies.

Somehow I got the impression he was a behind the scenes meteorologist working on weather model simulations.

Ha! I showed this to my wife and she's laughing. I was a C student in college for my business major. Not a chance I could pass the type of classes needed for what you're describing.

Thanks! Bookmarking this for the holidays. I love watching stuff like this.

Not quite the same, but I used to LOVE watching Myles Munroe when I was a younger man. The way he broke things down, from a historical, rational, and logical explanation was stupid good. His breakdown of Revelations is a must-see. I’ll try to find it. One thing that has sandwiched in my brain from that sermon/study all these years is his take on the imagery, like “flying creatures with scorpion-like tails and stingers that were able to torment people”, and how someone 2000 years ago being shown visions of the modern era, “how else do you think they would describe helicopters within the scope of their ancient world?!”

Super cool. I absolutely despise the Joel Osteens and Kenneth Copelands, Jerry Falwells, and Creflo Dollars of the world who may as well be satan reincarnated, evil SOBs.

Question, just completed my 3rd drain and fill transmission fluid and I got about 3 & 1/2 quarts come out each time. Read it’s supposed to be 2.1 quarts that comes out.

can it be cause I have a trans cooler?.. Checked fluid level when hot when adding fluid back just to make sure I wasn’t overfilling each time. Just wondering why I was getting nearly double the fluid than what’s supposed to come out.

    thanks

Should be somewhere between 3 and 4 qts usually, I get around 3.7ish. As long as you're adding the same amount and the dipstick is reading in the proper range, I wouldn't sweat it.

I remember that Heather was so frustrated by this typo in the manual that he called Toyota corporate to argue with them and they still refused to admit it was an error.

Looking back I worded that kinda dickheadish. I was a bit hungover and grumpy. ScAmazon is a shit company to work for, but it's a starter job, just like fast food or the likewise. I always think of unions as skilled workers, but I'm also from a state where unions aren't that big. If the power company wasn't union, we'd have basically no union.

We need more unions. I wish security had unions in this state. When I did my taser training (and got tased) 2 weeks ago, my boss mentioned there were some guys trying to get the guards at the hospital to unionize. He wanted them to be reported and escorted off the promises immediately and all the guards were like "yeah fuck unions" and I was quiet. But I'd fucking unionize in a heartbeat.
Several times I've looked into trying to start a union. What stops me is that I'd need people I could trust that wee like minded, and if need a supplemental income because I'd likely be fired until the union took off.

Texas is so anti union. You see some unions in the plants.

    I know Kroger is unionized.

Go ahead, unionize, but just remember, labor is always, and I mean always, the highest cost any business/employer has. This is the entire reason robots will replace people. It's basic economics.

The real problem the average person faces is not dollars-per-hour, it's how much those dollars are worth and can purchase. The dollar has lost its purchasing power. The currency has been debased. I'm not going to say anything more because I don't want to violate the code of conduct here.

Edit: and it has nothing to do with "greed". Anyone who makes this claim has the burden and onus of explaining supply and demand.

2nd edit: and anyone who claims it's due to "greed" also has to explain why it is "greedy" people pay some people, say, $30/hr rather than, say, $.30/hr. I mean, if the whole scheme is driven by nothing but greed, why would the allegedly greedy pay anyone anything at all? Clearly there is something more at work here than can be attributed to "greed".
