The most experience I have with electrical is wiring a snugtop light. Is this something I could do or take it to a shop?

Could I just make a new ground wire and put it under the negative termial? Or does it need to be secured to the negative clamp

All you need is a little bit of wire with 2 crimp on terminals and bolt it to the existing battery terminal

This one is longer than you need but not any harder than bolting it to the battery terminal and the fender.

Could I use a ring terminal and put it under the negative wire terminal or does it need to be bolted to the negative wire terminal?

Makes so much more sense :) I couldn't figure out what a throttle body and alternator replacement had to do with each other.

It's always seemed to me like dealers charge the book rate for each job even if they are doing multiple jobs at the same time that save them labor.

Just get the wire to the terminal. Auto part stores stock wires already made all you need to do is attach it

Yeah. The small shop was a little better in that they included doing Cam/Crank Seals along with Coolant Fluid in the TB Job, whereas the stealers added extra for those items in addition to their ‘quote’.

I’ll be doing this job myself. Everyone quoted 2days work so might as well have the truck in the driveway for 2-3 days tops. I think I can do it better than someone else at this point based on the other items I’ve performed in the past. The A1 Auto Vid was nice. I’ll watch a few others just to see what they say. Glad to not have the VVTI engine on this job. :D

What empty said, or use vice grips to clamp a terminal tip on the end and bolt it right up. You can knock that bolt through with slight taps. Put removed bolt through new eyelet terminal tip and then bolt back through and add the nut. Tighten. Good!

Finally got these back from being powder coated. They look a lot better than my failed paint attempt. The guys at the shop said these are the beefiest sliders they have ever seen. They wouldn't stop talking about them.

Take the old one off and buy the same size or larger. Larger is better.

Cool and just put it under the negative wire terminal right? Last question I promise :)

Edit: Nevermind, I see where it goes. Like this?

One of these days I’m going to mess with extending the range of the key fob. I believe a wee bit of wire soldered onto the antenna will give it a bit more distance. But as it is the distance is far greater than modern Toyota’s

Stumbled across an extremely helpful thread here that I missed in my searches here, and in the B-B search engine.:notsure:

Will try SBL stuff first before tackling/mangling new OEM bulb retrofit.

Both are good ideas, but I suspect you both are envisioning a different type of led than I'm referring to.
