I don’t think @shifty’ could explain what happened to mine. Very weird and annoying.

Same. I time traveled about 17 years and was back to hugging the toilet and falling asleep next to it. I hate alcohol. :bananadead:
I also took a drag of a friends cigarette after being tobacco free just over a year.
I'm sure I made some other bad decisions while under the influence that night. I blacked out some.

I can't help it, its the former builder in me just looking at that deck.... Do they have some Gigantic hot tub or something up top?
They could have easily used 4 posts instead of 7... I guess its ok for the outside but all those inner posts are pretty intrusive on the lower space.
I see a lot of wonky lines/warped lumber or poor work... or something. That second lower 2x4 band around the top floor railing is a horrible leaf catcher, can't sweep or blow them off/out.
    Bet that won't last hahaha.

I would’ve had the pressure treated post go 3-6’ down in a hole surrounded by fresh cement (sitting on gravel for proper drainage though).

Edit:That’s for a deck now that I recall. A footing made of concrete needs to be at the bottom with gravel surrounding the post for drainage. See thirty seconds later in the video.

They seem to do well in the snow on this car. I had them before on a Tacoma and never really had issues. But I prefer coopers or wild peaks honestly

Nothing up there yet and they don't seem like hot tub people. They neglect their house badly and I'm shocked they paid so much for such a giant deck. Prior to this, they never used their old one or did anything outside. I hope that continues.

I got big deck envy honestly.

I went down the clamp rabbithole a while back and ended up buying a 10pk of Norma 70-90 x 9 clamps (W4).

When it comes time to finally swap out my CVs, I may do the Porsche 930 boots, but as-is now, I initially slung out a very small amount of grease and haven't seen anything since. And it doesn't seem it's because there's no more grease to sling. No rips or tears, so I'm proactively treating the rubber and going about my biz.

I'm currently lifted around 2", no diff drop, front sway delete, and my CO are loaded w/700lb springs, nod to @alb1k for reco'ing picking up COs with heftier springs.

I'll probably drop the front of the truck 1/4", maybe a little more, come the spring.

Warped lumber is the f'n norm these days. The lumber industry really put us all through the ringer on their hold-back-inventory moneygrab during the pando. Such utter BS. And the prices still haven't gone down.

I just keep seeing more shit... ALL those supporting bridging beams should have been cut into the posts so they rested on them, instead of relying on the Fasteners and hoping the beam doesn't split.
Not sure why they needed a couple larger stringers in there either.

Yeah a lot of them are going to the above ground mounts on concrete to keep the posts up out of constant moisture, making them last longer. Ive never been a fan of them.

Love it. Reading some of your journey mirrors my rabbit hole too fingering this out last year. And yes that seems to be the only way to fit the caliper in with the CV installed to measure the clamp width. Tried to find some 7mm clamps for quite a while until test fitted 9mm and they fit within the hips of the boots. Now watching and treating that first inner bellow shown in your pics for hopefully not forming a groove at least as long as possible.

Sounds like you have infinitely adjustable struts on the front? Swapped the 5100s up front when failed after about 100k, switched to Eibachs set at 3" with an AAL in back, but contemplating dropping the front spring perch clip to 2.25".

Yup, coilovers ("COs"). Toytec Aluma Boss 2.0s, which are reportedly rebranded Elka units, and 5100s out back paired with ATS HD springs for 2" lift back there. Elka is quality stuff, but Canadian, maybe why folks don't talk about them as much, I dunno?

You know, I eventually may bail on my Toytecs when it comes rebuild time, or potentially before that. The ride is, IMHO, pretty stiff. I could see running Billy 6112s or something instead, I think the ride would probably be smoother, and I could eek out about the same lift in a semi-adjustable way. I opted for coilovers for the adjustability and not knowing where I'd eventually land, height-wise. I didn't want to need to think twice about any of it. I knew things would be a little stiffer with COs over a traditional strut. But with the meatier tires (32.2"), the combo can be jarring w/potholes. Something ATL is full of.

Maybe things will get better when I back off a little on spring compression. Guess we'll see.

I know it sounds like you're about done with the situation and don't want to mess with it much anymore, but I was digging in my M.2 disk stash and pulled these out. I'll run some diags on them to make sure they're healthy. Happy to send them both your way. They're only 512GB but that's effectively what you have now. I suspect these will be faster.

Top one is NVMe/M.2 and bottom is SATA/M.2, just in case the NVMe isn't compatible. The SATA will go as fast or smidge faster than what you've got. The NVMe starts 3x-4x faster than the max speed on the SATA, IIRC. While it's not my preferred (Samsung Pro), the Toshiba NVMe is respectably fast.

I was an essential worker for the two years or whatever.
Then the state offered essential worker pay/bonus as a thank you (to burn all the federal money they hadn't spent). Then I wasn't essential after all.
Essential bonus payments to USPS employees, but DHL, FedEx, UPS employees were excluded. Nice. USPS dumps in a box, Delivery men have to get signatures.

Looks like Wheeler's offers a 6112 kit with struts and springs unassembled for $826 that Billy calls and adjustable CO using the clip settings, and also had seen a Toytec for $645 when I decided to simply use the factory springs with the Eibach struts for only $221 shipped. Heard the Billy 6112 springs might be made by Eibach too?

It's possible, but then you look at the Eibach UCAs (link) which are made by SPC, same one you'll pay $1k for when it's in an SPC-branded box.

Construction adhesive and then grouted (kinda) around the seams

I just hate seeing crappy work (short cuts) done to save time/a few bucks by the contractor on otherwise nicely done jobs
