Did you notice any seat of the pants power gains? And if so, at what rpm range? I'm also wondering if you can get any better fuel economy with the duals? Then again it might be a bit more difficult to keep your foot off the throttle with that rowdy exhaust.

From which setup are you asking about?
The first video is my 06 4x4 camping/off-roading rig, the second is my 03 2wd street queen.

It's hard to say because the 06 already had 295/75r16's, and full armor when I got the headers and duals. Right after that it got regeared to 4.56.
But I'll say this, it does feel more powerful off the line and when passing people on the highway. I love flooring it to pass and hearing the sweet music.

I didn't like the sound of the dirty deeds exhaust at first. But it grew on me, big time. Took a good month or two to break it in.

It’s super difficult to keep out of the throttle with headers and duals……..
But I feel like my mileage stayed about the same. I’m hoping gears are going to be the cherry on top!

I didn't realize you had duals on both trucks! I was specifically interested about the DD duals. If i'm honest with myself, i really have no need for a fancy exhaust. My original exhaust manifolds are fine and so is the rest of my exhaust system. I'm also satisfied with flying under the radar with the quieter sound of my stock muffler as well. BUT...at the same time it would be fun to have a little bit more growl to it IF there's actual performance boost to my particular driving habits. I've always gone super easy on the throttle with all my vehicles in order to get better fuel economy. Like on my 2004 tundra...i lock the cruise control in at 55mph and mope along at a very relaxed pace. I'm even rarely above 2500rpm when accelerating.

I know gearing made a HUGE improvement when i went from my stock 245/70-16 and 3.90, to the 265/75-16 and 4.10! It now feels spot on for me.

Yeah 3.91 to 4.88s is going to be………fun! I don’t have huge tires but a lot of weight usually when on the freeway headed to sweet camping spots, in town should be a force to be reconned with!!!

What's with down low with the dual exhaust in your picture? Why is it laying on the heat pitted welding table? Obviously you have a ground clamp attached and a welding lead..

4.88 sounds like a winner since you're going to be loaded down. I'm a firm believer that you can't go too low on the gearing (99% of the time). No doubt it will play will with your dual exhaust as well.

Oh, and not to kick a dead horse, but i was at the La Fitness gym last night and over their radio intercom system was playing Huey Lewis "Hip to be Square". I was chuckling inside.

Don’t be hatin on my fab table! It’s a single car garage so my other real metal table was busy holding a bunch of other shit. Hahah I actually have pics of it after a pass being held up by a propane tank……. My welds aren’t the best, but they hold and still look better than dirty dans. I off road and that long heavy dual setup still hasn’t broken!
And yeah I was thinking about that the other day; my tone will definitely change due to the different rpm band

I wouldn't spend your money then. What I'd do if I were you is pick out a single in/dual out high flowing muffler like a flowmaster or magnaflow, etc and swap mufflers and delete the resonator. Then just orient the duals however you want. Cost effective and should still sound nice.

LOL...the only reason i noticed the weld craters in your plastic table is because i've used plastic tables MANY times as a fab table! My buddy has a decent sized metal fab table that he'd probably give me if i bought him lunch. The only reason i haven't pursued it just yet is because i need to clear some more space in my shop for it...along with my 2 post lift (that's still pushed off to the corner of my shop). Hopefully this next late spring/summer i can get it all organized.

So did you cut, fit, and weld your own dual exhaust then?

I got long tubes super cheap, had better Vbands welded on, and I took it from there.

Did you have to get any of the individual sections of pipe flared out or put in an exhaust bender? Or was it simply buy 10’ lengths of 2.5” straight pipe?

    Hey guys,
Does anyone have clips of their dirty deeds exhaust they can share? I've seen all the ones on youtube but I wanted to get some more videos of them before I make a purchase. I was thinking about the 20x5 or 16x5. Thanks

Also here's this... But you'll have to ignore the bad wheel bearing making a ton of noise...

I only said that out of a sincere concern for your safety, not to win some sort of internet argument. I have had carbon monoxide poisoning many years ago. Turned out my exhaust had a backfire and blew a hole into the top of my muffler (that i couldn’t see from under my jeep). Long story short, a few hours later i stepped out of my jeep CJ7 and took a couple steps in the knee deep snow...then promptly passed out, falling face first into the snow...and i wasn’t getting back up. My friend’s helped me back to my feet, and i spent the next next 4 hours vomiting, and the next 24+ hours with a HUGE migraine headache. Now i try to be more hyper diligent about where my exhaust dumps out at.
