I've never been a fan of these because they aren't a great representation of what a truck sounds like in person. I also hate wasting time hearing a truck idle and rev up in a driveway while parked.

Let's get some sound clips going to share "the idea" of what a particular exhaust sounds like. Maybe we can sticky this even if others jump in, drive it if you can and be safe.

JBA shorties, Spintech Prostreet muffler, no resonator, stock pipe dumped right after the rear axle.
First pass was cruising around 1500 rpm, second pass hit 3500 rpm. Third clip is driving with windows down and OD off, around 55 seconds windows go up.

Before anybody gets worried, there are no kids in my cousins neighborhood where the first two clips were recorded. I never got above 25 mph there either, 1st gear.

Highway speeds are fine. There is a slight drone at 60mph (2100rpm) but it goes away before or after that. It sounds good when I get on it but for some reason it doesn’t sound like my other trucks I put aero’s on.

I keep hearing others but can’t decide if it bothers me that much I want spend another $150 to swap it out.

Mine is quiet at highway speeds with windows up. A light hum at 2200 rpm but nothing bothersome.

Quite a difference with just a muffler. Found a few well under $200.... looks like a pretty good option for the not too distant future.

Yep. It sounds great. Not sure if it’s the muffler, how I have the side exit configured, or my exhaust leaks, but it drones pretty bad on the highway.

Thank you for your consideration of others. Wish my neighbor didn’t have his obnoxious Magna Flow muffler cold start noise every morning. Big difference in sound on cold start vs. when he arrives home warm. Guy drives a soft top Jeep. Gotta be noisy inside that cabin.

I’d post up my OEM muffler sounds, but that would be boring here.

my neighbors hate my truck.. but no muffler at all:anonymous:

i plan on running a OEM muffler off a newer car/truck and do a cutout so i can choose to be asshole vs normal.

Need a clip of the no mufflerness.

my truck actually got louder when I replaced the lack of muffler and rusted out resonator with an aftermarket cheapo res and the aero turbine.

If you really want to make friends with them, get yourself 6.7 cummins. I didn't have the funds to fix my exhaust when the muffler mysteriously fell off one day but I was the neighborhood favorite. It sounded like a hair drier on steroids at idle with the exhaust brake spinning the turbo/VGT.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1b701_EQaU&feature=youtu.be

I sometimes wish my Tundra was louder, than I remind myself what this sounded like with no muffler and a 5" straight pipe to a 6" tip.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ka-6euMbpd0&feature=youtu.be

EPA Disclosure: The muffler fell off one day driving and was replaced immediately with OEM equipment.

Unless you use clamps. My whole exhaust (although redneck, I'll admit) is bolt-in.

Na, I’m just waiting till headers happen or I can repair the original muffler. Only reason I have it off is because I don’t want the leak directly on the frame like it was.

Well I was going to try and get a video. But disturbing the peace of a quiet neighbourhood typical will end badly and involved police. So I have to wait till I find somewhere to go catch a clip

I'll see what I can do later on. Everything on the exhaust with the exception of 02 sensors is original, and stock.
