Just got my instructions emailed an shipping notification. I ordered 8/7. Probably won't put this in until my B2 Audio stuff gets here. That's gonna be a busy day. Thanks James.

Same. I think there's something wrong with the 18,19 kit?

I think so too.I got my kit for 18 a week ago installed same day followed instructions and youtube video tutorial .100% sure everything was installed correct and truck doesnt re-lock after remote starting. He wants me to open everything up again and send him a pic of how i tapped the tpms wire.! Clearly this is something with the module

did you cut it and connect each wire to each end or did you tap into it?

Instructions he sent are a little confusing.

You are supposed to disconnect battery before install? At what point do you reconnect and program the module?

“make sure all connections are made with battery disconnected and before you hook the battery back up remove all connectors from the remote start unit“

If you remove the connectors to the module before you reconnect the battery then how does the thing still work lol....

I think it means to connect the module after you reconnect the battery? For people that have to splice? Instructions could be better.

I didn’t unhook my battery, I followed the same video as above. My driver door doesn’t lock either he said it might be in the software of the module. I believe he said he had to check hundreds or even thousands of them before he sends them out. For now I just hit the lock button again after it starts. Minor details.

For 18-19 just missing the t-harness?so if I got that I’m assuming no need to cut wire? Fortin-thar-toy10 is 80 bucks figure if that’s it then I will just get the harness

I can't tell if this is the harness you'd need... The newer version of the kit from 12volt.solutions (not James' kit) comes with an additional t-harness for the TPMS splice, but it's seriously just one wire and not really worth the money to buy that separately IMO. I bought my 12volt.solutions kit secondhand and needed to splice but it was no big deal at all. I can try to find their video that was posted for the older version that requires the TPMS splice.

Looking at the Fortin instruction it says we need to cut the Tpms so if the manufacturer says it than I think the t harness won’t make a difference. I got my shipping Info this this morning so I’m super stoked

Don't waste the money on the harness just to avoid one wire splice. Just grab a T-Tap and you're good to go. You can get them from any autoparts store.

Doesn’t it have to be cut so each end gets a wire connected if I splice two wires to the tpms wire, won’t it screw it up. Remember our vehicles are different years so we have different instructions I think

Yeah you can't just tap the TPMS wire - it has an input and output that correspond to wires in the module harness. I'm still trying to find the video I used.

It's probably a good idea to do so, but I didn't (and rarely do with any electrical work...) during my install. I like to live dangerously and/or am an idiot, so there's that.

Tint and wheels. Decked box in the bed. S and B Cold Air filters under the hood. Shiftpower throttle response controller.
WTF does TPMS have to do with starting the vehicle is my question.

I can't find much for answers on this except a post on a Fortin forum:

If the wire is not interrupted, the factory remote can not be detected when the engine is running.

I don't really know what/why/who/how, but it's just a necessary step in the remote start procedure.

Just to confirm as I am going to be doing this install in the coming days on my 2017... Trucks with OEM alarm only need the key sense wire connected if they also have the glass break sensor.

I just used threads https://www.tundras.com/threads/glass-breakage-sensor-install-and-setup.19870/page-2 and https://www.tundras.com/threads/factory-alarm.22338/ to confirm that I have the OEM alarm without the glass break sensor and the OEM alarm on my truck is activated.

I can only comment on with glass break sensor since that's what my truck has. Try it without and see if you alarm goes off after it times out for 15mins or you turn the truck off by clicking the remote button 3 times.
