I’m still blown away by the looks of that drained rear diff fluid!

Been a good few weeks in terms of stuff accumulation, not so much in truck progress as it's been frigid and snowy here, and it's my daily driver.

    First up,

    Parts truck.

it's an 01 with 237,000 miles on it. RWD, but it has NO RUST!!!!

fender, door, and bed swap to come soon.

    Price and 2wd.

honestly the frame is in pretty good shape. It need a ton of work though. Steering issues, tons of vibrations. Runs and drives though. Once I swap bodies I’ll probably turn around and sell it with the rusty body.

ah, was just curious. if the frames in decent shape it may be a good truck for someone who missed out on the frame recall.. should have all the mounts for a front diff and what not

Yep! I tried to convince my brother to frame swap or 4x4 swap to it, but he decided it was too much work.

    Yo, It's been a while.

Last weekend I installed my new rear shocks, bump stops, the ECGS bushing, and tried to do the front shocks. Unfortunately, I ordered 2.5" coilover shocks instead of shocks for my eibach shocks, so I have to return those and get the right ones. It'll be a couple weeks before from shocks go in.

also, ECGS didn't fix my vibrations, so I ordered a diff drop kit and another u-joint. Well see if that solves it.

Installed the Diff drop a week or so ago, and it helped the vibes, but didn't fix them. I need the truck to get to and from work RN, so I'm just gonna let 'er buck for a bit. Running great and my MPG is back up now that my commute is longer.

Waiting for warm weather to pick up the body swap again.

Been a while since I’ve updated y’all. Not much has changed. I finally got new springs and the front shocks are assembled. I’ll be installing them hopefully this weekend.

also, today I installed some new ignition coils.

Do those happen to state if they are made in China or the USA? I've heard some MSD coils are made in China and some are made in the USA.

Got the drive shaft back from the shop. They replaced the orielly u joint I put in last fall, and balanced the shaft. Still the same thing. I’m beginning to think it’s my cheapo CV axles. Everything else has been replaced.

I can't remember if someone asked. Did you already replace the needle bearing? Supposedly that vibration only goes away in 4x4 if that's your problem.

I also liked someone suggestion of the road force balance.

I replaced the needle bearing with the ECGS bushing.

Most likely thing I’m going to try next is CV axles, then redo tire balance.

anyone have suggestions for high quality aftermarket CV axles?

Napa remans are decent. If not those fancy off-road ones that were recently posted in the what have you done thread, (spacing out on the name)

You could try editing the picture before you upload it, and rotate it 180°. Then upload the "fixed" picture.

If the picture is already "right-side up" on your end flip it over anyway, and fake the system out.

New kicks! Got em in a craigslist steal for $160. Got a full size spare on a stock wheel too! 16x8 American racing with 1/3 life Nitto Terra Grapplers. They’re old and pretty worn, but they’ll get me through the summer.

no pics, but since the photos, I've installed a new head unit, rear speakers, and amp and subwoofer.

Also, Recently ordered some Milestar Patagonia M/Ts. They'll get installed before winter.

new kicks installed. the 25-mile review is this:

They drive fantastic under 50MPH. over 50, they wander, they shake slightly due to the tread pattern, and they are the opposite of confidence-inspiring in turns, making the truck feel like a big boat, rocking back and forth. We'll see how they do over the next few thousand miles, but I'm unimpressed at this point.

    They look dam sick though!
