I’m thinking that just might do it.

The immobilizer light in the center display of the dash (outline of a car with an outline of a key in the middle) should flash if there is a transponder key issue. But I doubt that info is really relevant anymore.

On my first gen Tundra the wipers came on one day and wouldn't shut off. I pulled the fuse until i could look into it. What it turned out to be was the washer pump. The cable going to it had a small rock get stuck on top of it where it ran across the frame. Over the years (my guess) it damaged one of the wires going to the pump and it actually was shorting to ground just enough so the computer thought I was trying to wash the windshield. But it wasn't a good enough of a short to make the washer pump actually work.

I found it by reading through the wiring schematics. The way it worked (at least in 2000) was power would go to the pump and the wash lever in the truck would ground the washer motor. The computer monitors the power going to the washer motor (I'm guessing that it measures the current) and when it sees it get above a set level it then turns on the wipers. My point is until I found this out I would have assumed that a bad wire going to the washer motor would only result in the washer motor not working. With modern vehicles they are much more complex. That damaged wire could cause other issues that you wouldn't think were connected.

As for the fuel pump shutting off I would have expected a miss fire to cause an ECU code.

Toyota charged me 500 buck to fix that plug and broke. Wires they said 100 percent that was the issue but having same symptoms as I always had

I was reading maybe could be the main fuse wires under the fuse box that are connected could be broken or worn is why I get no codes ?

Others said it, but have you REALLY checked the ground cable at the battery? Salt water is going to create internal corrosion. Look behind the lug and underneath the jacket, especially if it's cracked at all. I've had intermittent issues with a different vehicle before due to a corroding ground cable, and on my tractor. Increased air water concentration would exacerbate this.

Also, has the battery been tested with an actual state of health meter? Hooking up a multimeter and reading 14.x volts isn't enough to say the battery is fine.

I'm talking about the main ground cable at the battery lug and any going to the fuse box or surrounding chassis straps.

Don't actually know on the Tundra. Haven't had any electrical issues from mine. Just trying to help based on prior experiences with other vehicles.

Edit: if you find you need new cables, see this post I made about crimpers and lugs. These are standard order for marine-grade applications: In need of advice for electrical box

I think you have damage to a wiring harness, possibly a mouse. As much as it will suck I think you're going to have to check every harness for damage. That includes checking the connectors just in case one isn't sealing water out.

Ok thanks for the help that's what I'm thinking noticed at the firewall where the harness hooks in after it's clamped down that it seems there's a lot of play

Now truck went into limp mode said I had 3 codes for throttle body sensor now truck will start but will not rev up. Found that my positive battery terminal was kinda loose after it died on me again then those codes popped up. I r fixed all these other issues and it fixed it for a while my grounds are good at the block and under the air box as well. Checked wires under there fuse box everything looked good I never had codes before I'm wondering if the main engine harness is bad but I don't see anything wrong with it when I looked it over or could it have been throttle body the whole time and it wasn't getting a good battery connection to send the right code to the ecm ?
