haha, I had a guy tell me if i wanted payload in a toyota to go buy one of these Hinos... he owned the dealership. I have to admit i thought about it.... but when i couldn't figure out where the TRD Sport sticker was gonna go i kinda forgot about it.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about what it would take to put a Tundra cab on a large diesel truck like that Hino. Then build a Military style bed for it.

I used to buy International and GMC straight trucks (24ft box trucks).
I’m slowly converting our fleet of smaller trucks to Hinos. We now have a handful and they are awesome - I approve all the maintenance invoices - Hinos are Toyota.
Our Class A rigs are still Internationals with ISX450 Cummins.
(Moral of story - I own a few million dollars worth of diesels, and employee 2 diesel mechanics - which is why I drive a Tundra)

Was at the dealership the other night where I bought my Tundra and they were saying that Android and Apple "Play" were starting to come out in some 2019 Toyota vehicles. Someone asked if the system in the 2018's vehicles could be upgraded to the new software when they come out.

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (or whatever they are called) are a done deal for new Toyotas...anyone have any idea on being able to upgrade existing systems? Or are they are what they are and that is it?

Apple Carplay and Amazon Alexa are done deals, not Android Auto. Also, I'd be willing to bet money that the factory Entune 2.0 units can't be upgraded with that feature set.

I'm thinking the same thing. Probably licensing would be part of the issue. Other side is "if you want Carplay or Alexa, trade in your old vehicle".

For what I use the unit for...the factory unit is adequate. Speakers are acceptable. If I want really good audio quality I'll listen at home. The truck is to go from point A to point B. The NAV unit isn't as good as the Garmin Zumo I have on my bike (Yamaha Royal Star Venture) but still gets me there....as long as I don't use the voice recognition because it can never find what I say.

My coworker has a 2014 ecobost with a 3.73 rear end. He gets 17 out of the truck when he babies it.

Wow. That's not very good at all. Give me a naturally aspirated, beefy V8 any day over the turbo 6s. I don't want a 10-speed transmission either.

I feel even the Tacoma interior 17 model was better than my 18 Tundra. My biggest grip is that the interior isn’t completely blacked out. My taco was black on black. I like simple interior with no silver or chrome. Head unit like Ram OEM would be dope. Less cheap plastic.
