Steering wheel back together with the trim painted black. Driver and passenger side vents painted now I just need to do the middle two.

 

That damn volume button is messing shit up :/

 

Dude as soon as I posted the pic I thought that exact same thing! I might get aggressive and plastic dip it with everything intact. I hate taking that wheel apart. I feel like the air bag is gonna blow up in my face even though I disconnect the battery lol

 

Other than that little bastard it looks great! I’d probably go for more matte finish, but that’s personal preference

 

Thanks man. I used the same spray on the third brake light surround, cup holder, shifter trim all came out matte. I spray those two trim pieces and it came out gloss

 

Richie did your steering wheel come leather wrapped?

 

No sir. I bought the Loncky leather steering wheel cover off of Amazon and sewed it on.

 

Paint or dip will work much better than vinyl, which I did. Now the volume rocker switch is sticky on mine. I don't mind it since I barely use it (I go for the volume knob 99 times out of 100) but for people who use it I recommend painting the switch over vinyl. Only reason I've done the vinyl is that it is so easily reversed while painting I felt was more permanent. Now that I know I like the look I will likely go and re-paint most of the pieces.

 

Nice find Ron, that could be exactly what Rich needs to complete the look. I wasn't gonna say anything after all his hard work about the volume button ruining it for me. But now since mentioned and agreed by Rich, once he fixes that I think it looks awesome. My wheel is jealous.

 

So for someone who has never sown anything in their life... can I realistically do this and have it look OEM like yours?

 

That's sharp. From a contrast perspective, the volume button isn't bad, from your periphery you can zone in on it, although after a while muscle memory might make that unnecessary.

Ron I just got their vent ring covers so I will defiantly give that button cover a while. MGM thanks bro for taking my feelings into account lol that would absolutely have crushed me hahaha

 

I wanted to do the wrap but I would mess that up soooooookk badly. Def let me know how the paint goes!

 

Lol, don't get me wrong Rich I love it all, just the volume button sticks out too much for my taste. Someone else could love it. I love all you've done with ur truck to this point. Upon looking at the TVD decal further I'm not sure it gonna work for ya. It doesn't make the button darker, just adds a red n green square around. Might be stuck painting or wrapping after all. I'm sure you'll figure it out. Keep up the good work.

 

I don't know if it's so much that they've gotten quieter, it's just that I have gotten used to them. To be honest I forget what a stock system sounds like. I'm still very happy with it, I know I don't like the flowmaster, borla, mbrp, or gibson more than the TRD. I do think I would like a Dirty Deeds system more, but then being Canadian I don't know if that's an issue for them, and I'm not going to spend over $1000 for what I would say is minimal gain

 

Took my truck in for the 15,000 mile oil change and tire rotation! November will be 2 years old, I was going to mark the tires and oil drain cap to see if it was indeed done being it was at a local dealership, but I forgot!

The same dealership that did a shity alignment after I got my bigger tires!

 

Absolutely man if I can do it anyone can. 1 YouTube video and I was off and running. The double sided tape they use it trash so i would use an adhesive of your choice. Areas to glue would be around the controls. I pulled the wheel apart and did it but you can do it with out doing that. Very easy man just a little time consuming.
