First, I want to admit I skipped from the end of page 9 to here to post.

    Second, I'm also very confused.

How can folks who own every year 1st Gen be ordering the recall kit if there are two different bolt sizes, depending on the year?

I have an '07 Sequoia, btw.

    Thanks,

I think this is part of the reason most dealers won't sell you the kit. And even McGeorge (now "Ourisman") Toyota, who actually will sell you that kit tells you in very clear text "we can't verify this kit for any vehicle, and we won't accept returns". If you know 100% it's the right kit, good on ya! You just saved about 10-20%! But if you're in a crossover year, like 2004 Tundra for example, I sure as fuck wouldn't buy the kit, you may be stuck eating the money you just saved.

Your best bet, always, is to look in the EPC to find your part number based on your exact VIN, and order individual joints, with 8 new bolts. The part numbers will be in the EPC for all the above, left joint, right joint, and bolts.

There are some cases where the EPC is not easy to read. In those cases, I'd urge people to post pics of what they found in EPC (a pic of the diagram) so someone who knows better can help you decipher. There are sometimes year cutoffs on parts, one part if up to the cutoff date, the other part number is for after that cutoff date. I've found dealer counter-jockeys who don't even understand it and I had to explain it to them. I've even found some I can't explain, and neither could they!

Sometimes when you're in an old swamp, you gotta expect things to be clear as mud.

Anyone know if these part numbers changed or are no longer available?

I have a 2000 with 92,000 miles on it on original ball joints

When I type in these part numbers on toyota website I get "No suggestions found for '43340-39356' "

I'd like to replace both sides, just due to age

    Any help is appreciated

I plugged in part number you listed, and got this.
    May be your internet.
Websites been acting weird all weekend.
I been looking for parts today, and had to reload a few times. Thought my cart was even erased once. Had to sign out and log back in to get cart to register/repopulate.

I quoted my cart from this year when I did ball joints on my 2000 Tundra. Everything fit perfectly, hope this helps.

I don't know what is going on, maybe the dealer I'm trying to buy from is Out of stock on it -- I can find it thru a duck duck go search but not on the dealer black mamba linked in Alabama

    Strange

Orisman in richmond has it as it pops right up...

Serra toyota gives me the no item found thing

    Edit -

I'll be calling serra in the morning -- Their discounts are too good to pass up

I have no idea why I can't find the lower ball joints in their system.

Parts show up at orisman but they want to charge shipping and sales tax...

Agree but if you select "Product Suggestions" it takes you to the 43340-39356 page @Redoak is showing and you can place your order.

Works this morning, last night the product suggestions took me to a different ball joint. The 39356 was nowhere to be found. Same with the 39466.

I do not have my vin loaded into Serra this morning. “What this fits” is 2001 to 2003 on the website right now.

    Edit

called and spoke to a very pleasant parts rep -- Ordered, along with a high mount stop light assembly

Pretty good deal ($245) and shipped free to my house. About $100 cheaper than the quote I got in person at a different dealership in the Boston area. Checked all of them and Woburn had the biggest discounts. Got a power steering rack from them too. Although, it was defective out of the box... that's another story, but less a reflection on them and more Toyota. They swapped it out for me and paid me for extra labor my mechanic did. Had to fight for it hard tho lol

I went with the "black" bolts. They were the ones the dealership recommended as well. 2003 AC 4x4 3.4L.

Part # for 2003 AC 4x4 3.4L. Haven't installed them yet, but VIN fitment was good.
