The wolf box does a really good job at not distorting the camera. It definitely is weird getting used to it, but I think its become one of those mandatory mods I'll do to every vehicle I own.

Got the sumo springs installed! Rode good on the way home from the mechanic. I'll have my dirtbike on a hitch carrier and camping gear loaded up for the 4th of July so we'll see how it carries the weight and rides then but they definitely don't feel too stiff. My old bump stops rusted off long ago and the Ubolts were so rusted they had to be cut off.

Also swapped the passenger and driver seat belts. They are identical. Slow retracting solved!

Also picked up a rooftop cargo box. Pretty tall but the extra space will be nice on road trips

I think those blue Sumo Springs are about right for what you're planning. How much does the bike weigh? They were perfect for me with a topper, gear, and my camper trailer with ~300lbs tongue weight. But they didn't hold up to the 860lb slide-in camper.

Let's see here......been pulling the trailer mowing yards. Heatwave is a bit oppressive but we are coping.

Had to use 4wd Hi yesterday to back up a paved / graveled driveway. Went in and came out easily.

Been using the Heat Shield window sun blockers for the front side windows. Those work pretty well!

Managed to lose the upper screw cover for my driver's side climb-in bracket or whatever you call that. I grab it and pull myself up as I climb in.

That’s one I haven’t got around to yet. Last time I was under the rear I noticed the hitch bar was rusting out like that on mine. Now I even have a part number.

Did the ol rear door-check upgrade. I used to think the rear doors just weren't designed to stay open, but eventually learned that they are supposed to.

Seems like the old Toyota design with the friction fit door checks all wear out. Didn't know that older 1GTs had friction fit front door checks too!

Anyways, grabbed the autotechnica pieces mentioned and swapped the roller cartridge onto the stock arms. About a 30 minute exercise per side, including removal, install, and reinstall of door panels.

Also installed the reinforcing plates from fr33lace onto all four doors, a rear diff breather extension, and an electrical accessory tray under the hood.

Mine is pretty rusty also but able to pull a 4K pound load (so far). I'd like to remove it, sandblast, paint, put back on, or replace it. Where / how did you find a new one?

Nevermind, found it. OEM still available. Hmmm.....do I really need a new hitch????

I can see a couple part numbers, but do you have all the part numbers to do this job in its entirety for anyone else it may help?

Well that was my whole weekend, was only able to do passenger side as well as front differential bushings. Not fun having to cut and melt out old bushings. My alignment is so far off now as well and I can’t get one for another week because I have to do the drivers side. Hopefully it will be okay.

If that's what your truck had originally, you can look it up here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/howto-use-the-toyota-parts-system-to-find-order-parts.113808/

It'll be under the Transmission and chassis section, inside the Front spring & shock absorber sub-section of the diagrams. What I'm saying will make sense when you get to the site linked in that thread.

New Denso Radiator (Jan 2025) cap leaking. So I noticed some antifreeze crusting on both sides of my cap and had a buddy of mine (who owns a radiator shop of all things) take a look at it. He took a look at the old cap and said it plunged ok but that it looks like there are a couple of small dings in it. For $10 he put on this 16PSI cap. I know the original is 88KPA (which I think = 12 PSI. I’m asking you guys if this is an issue? To me 4 PSI is no big deal but when dealing with/ such low pressure to begin with maybe it is. Anyone want to chime in?? I didn’t take a before but I did take an after.IMG_2234.jpg

That would make me a little nervous. Sometimes on older radiators the plastic tanks crack, but sometimes its the glue that holds the aluminum in. I guess i’d block off the radiator, leave it in the driveway at 1500rpm, and let it get hot, like hot hot. If it can handle a bit more heat than normal, it oughtta be fine for a few years.

Today I learned that there are different swaybars for these trucks.

Makes sense I guess. When I had a 2nd gen Tacoma I procured an OR swaybar because it is thinner than the SR5/Sport swaybar.

I wonder if I can procure a narrower swaybar for my Tundra....

I don’t trust AI but I think I answered my own question. This was AI response to my question “
    AI Overview
A 16psi radiator cap is commonly used on Toyota 4.7L V8 engines, particularly in models like the Land Cruiser and Sequoia. For example, the 1998-2007 Toyota Land Cruiser 4.7L V8 and the 2008-2019 Toyota Sequoia 4.7L V8 both utilize a 16 psi radiator cap

I wasnt worried about the engine, my concern was with the radiator, how many sq.in. Is the extra 4psi ‘pushing’ on?

I'm pretty sure the optional "TRD" cap is 16 PSI. Not sure who all was buying that or what the purpose really was but it does exist.

I found a windshield sun shade for my truck. I didn't have any luck locally so I ordered one that's made for a 3rd gen tacoma (2016-2023). Fits perfectly.
